I took my 2016 breakout in for A 5k service and a tire replacement. I had just bought the bike. The switch knob for the ignition I knew was missing before I brought the bike in. I used the key to turn the ignition on to start and had already lost the key 2x out of the four rides I had logged since I bought her. It is not supposed to stay in the ignition only unlock it. That allows the ignition to turn on. So I told the service guy who checked me in about the key coming lose. It fell off during a test drive during repair. The service tech walked the highway until he found it. It was smashed and run over. My sobriety medallion was gone He went back and walked the highway and found it. He found my other motorcycle key was broken and offered to pay for a new ignition and key from a Norton shop overseas. He has also offered to come all the way to Garland to replace the ignition so I don't have to trailer the bike up Jesse asked if I wanted to ride the bike home or wait for new keys which were I had already ordered earlier in the week and on their way. He said he could make a switch that would work. He spent a lot of time drilling cutting and filing a new switch that would work. The final product from Jesse is beautiful. If I could give these guys 10 stars, I would. Truth be told, I'm a little new to this game. Been building cars for years but finally decided to get into riding a few weeks ago. Bought a custom chopped up trike as my first go getter, but it needed some basic maintenance. Called up the Thunderchief crew and after talking it through with these guys, they gave me a ton of free advice and even referred me to the right shop for my old 81 Honda Frankenstein. I was so impressed with the Thunderchief team that I went down to the shop anyway just to have a look around at some merch. Even took my wife and 8 yr old son who loves bikes. He was floored by some of the bikes they've got and frankly so was I . . . and the prices were so reasonable. They even outfitted my crew with some free trade in helmets!! Look, the guys down here know bikes. Big time. If you're crazy experienced, they've got you covered. But what I was so impressed by was how accommodating, helpful, and patient they were as it's obvious I'm just starting out. Just go there. You'll learn things regardless. Definitely heading back for some cool ass tee shirts and my next bike when I'm ready. read more

I decided to install performance camshafts in MY 2007 Road King . It was that or trade for something newer. I talked to Tim at Thunderschief and he said that I could buy them or they could. It did not matter. He recommended the place online that I was already looking at and the fuel tuner fuel as well. I had the Woods TW-222 camshafts installed by Thunderchief and a tuner and map installed. I could not be happier. They had the job finished in about 3 days and the cost was exactly as they said. They did not want me to take the motorcycle until the Master technician (Jesse) road it and gave a final approval. Which he did. The motorcycle runs great and I even got a full tank of gas. Excellent place to have you Harley worked on. I will definitely go back if i need anything done in the future read more

Had an oil pump replacement on my M8 due to sumping issue. They got me in quickly, quoted the price over the phone upfront and was exactly what I paid. They were quick on the repair and had me out riding within a few days. Very nice group of mechanics with lots of HD experience. Also had tires put on while the bike was in the shop. Jesse @ Thunderchief Garage did a thorough service to my son's Super Glide. Found a bunch of standard service items that the dealer did not do, including an oil change. Spark plugs were shot. Rear rotor was warped. Rear bearing was shot. Leaking rear air shock lines. Several loose motor mount bolts. Busted shift linkage. The dealer should be ashamed for claiming the bike had been serviced. If you ride a Harley, take it to Thunderchief. Jesse is a fantastic master mechanic and cares about taking care of the customer. read more

I have been bringing my bike to Thundercheif for several years now. I have never been happier or more confident with the work of a technician than when my chopper is in the hands of these guys. Every time I have found an issue on the road I bring the bike straight here and I swear it rides like a new bike every time it leaves! I see a lot of really good reviews here, and I wish I had received this kind of treatment, but I didn't. I dropped the bike at the beginning of July for a make run after it had been sitting a couple years. They didn't wrap up with it until late in September. When I picked it up it had a fuel light on so I went up the street and filled it up. Fuel light didn't go out so they told me to ride it for a while and bring it back if the light doesn't go away. I didn't make it two blocks before the bike stalled out in the middle of traffic when the fuel line popped right out. They came out to trailer the bike back to the shop and ended up swapping out the fuel line with the one from the original fuel pump they had changed out. Again, I tried to ride it home and I did make it, but it was running terribly and smelled like it was still leaking. I parked for the night and when I went to start it up again the following day there was a puddle of fuel under the bike and it was leaking like a sieve and wouldn't start. They wouldn't come and get the bike so I had to take off work early, rent a trailer and tow the bike back to them. They told me the part was defective and they'd have to warranty it out and it would be at least a week. I got a call a few days later telling me the bike was ready, which made me wonder if they didn't just clean up the original fuel pump and put it back in. When I spoke with Leonard, the guy running the shop, I told him I'd appreciate it if they fill the tank for me and it said it was no problem, they'd take care of it. When I get there to pick up the bike I noticed fuel streaks on the bike, the seat is swishing around all loose and the plastic cap covering the threads on the gas tank bolt is missing. I swear there are some new scratches on the tank and rear fender that weren't there before, but I intend to have these things painted anyway so I didn't say anything, but I noticed. Leonard tells me they didn't fill the tank, but they could give me the money. When I asked he handed me $5. I said it was $12 to fill and I had filled it after picking it up the first time and $12 was the least they could do for the pain in the ass I'd been through. Leonard proceeds to tell me I have to understand none of this was their fault and he thought he had an excuse that made it okay. I was justifiably irritated and not in the mood for a line of crap and just wanted the gas money and to get my bike. Instead, Leonard cussed me out, told me to take my piece of shit and get the fuck out of there and don't ever come back to his shop again. Well, he got the last part right. I wasn't going to go back to the shop again, and I wouldn't ever recommend them to anyone after my experience. Jesse may be a good mechanic, but the shop has been a revolving door of techs and counter guys over the last couple years, the repair time is slow (the first time they fix it- second and third time are pretty quick actually), the mechanical work is suspect and in my experience, their customer service is terrible. When I had my breakdown in traffic I met two other riders who came to my assistance separately, one who helped to push me out of traffic and one who stopped to ask if I needed assistance when I was parked in his driveway inspecting my bike. When speaking with both of them separately, when they asked where I had taken the bike for repair, they both gave the same knowing grin when I said Thunderchief. Apparently their reputation proceeds them and now I know why. IMO, first repair is full price, if there's a second it should be quick and you may get off with a sorry for the inconvenience, but if there's a third crack at it, there should be a discount or some restitution for the trouble, and if all a customer wants is $12 in gas money and you tell them to fuck off and never come back, you should expect a review like this. read more

I had to take my 2016 Breakout 4 separate times after they had to replace the Stage 5 Screaming Kit that was already on my Breakout when I purchased the Bike. Before I had 900 miles I had to take the 2016 Breakout back to where I purchased my Harley Davidson Dallas-Allen location. After they determined that the rods were bent they had to replace basically the entire motor. Even though I had purchased my motorcycle Brand-New Harley Davidson Dallas-Allen location they "NEVER BACKED ANYTHING/EVERYTHING I HAVE EVER PURCHASED FROM THEM! They told me that I had to pay for a "NEW SCREAMING EAGLE KIT" because it was passed the 1 year manufacturing date because it was just collecting dust on their self and like I stated it was already on the motorcycle when I purchased it as is and told me that I had to pay $1800.00 for the kit. Who doesn't stand behind was they sell a customer? After buying 3 motorcycles from them of which always got screwed. I would really discourage ANYONE FROM DOING ANY TYPE of BUSINESS WITH HARLEY DAVIDSON DALLAS-ALLEN location. After taking my Motorcycle's to "Thunderchief" in McKinney at 411E. Erwin St. McKinney I was able to get my my clutch working the way it should after taking it to HD-Allen on 5 separate occasions. I would HIGHLY RECOMMEND THAT EVERYONE should GO TO (Thunderchief) before even thinking about taking ANY BIKE to the HD-Allen unless you want to get screwed. Thunderchief beats any price in town. If you want a honest and professional and honest mechanic that has over 25 years of experience why take it anywhere else that will charge you extremely high prices when you can anything & everything for a better price and experience than Harley Davidson Dallas-Allen location ever thought about. I wasted almost a month of riding time because of this place. I was in need of new tires and because of a nail in a tire I would not risk riding very far from home. I texted them on three occasions with all bike and tire information and requested a quote. After no response I called them with the same information. They took down the information and I got a complete quote for $50 less than the HD dealership. I wanted to help out a small business so I agreed and they said they would order. I called a week later and they said that they did not order but would now order. We set up a date for me to come in. The day before I was to come in I called in to confirm that was told they had again failed to order. They said they would order and the tires typically take 2-3 days to come in. And yes, I again called again a few days out and was told, "we'll call you when your tires come in....". That was two weeks ago and I have not heard back from them. Incompetence? New people? Too much business for them to handle? Lack of respect / care about the customer? If they don't want my business simply say so and don't waste my time dangling me with false expectations of taking care of my bike. The HD dealership in Allen cost virtually the same, had tires in inventory, and had me out the door in three hours. A year ago this business responded to a bad Google review by calling it, "an undeserved malicious attack on their reputation". I have the texts and phone bill to show all the contact with you so stop worrying about your reputation and take care of customers. This bad review is completely and whole heartedly deserved !! A zero would be more appropriate. read more
