**Warning** to all patients seeking treatment at Thunderbird Foot Care. Chances are you will encounter their receptionist Kathy at the front desk. This woman is so rude and condescending she has no place working in health care. Her bad reviews go back for years and years at this location but still the owners choose her to be the face of their enterprise. Their website has EVERY SINGLE possible problem listed on tabs and once you click the tab has VERY extensive information on the condition!! It states the causes, the treatments that you can do on your own and medical treatment options and even potential outcomes!! I have a very rare foot condition that most podiatrists do not have experience with treating. I will say their website does a great job of explaining the condition (SHOCKING that it is even listed because it is so uncommon) BUT there are a couple treatment options that I discovered that were not listed (but most podiatrists don't know about them). I have had success with the other treatment options started in Germany and elsewhere. I am having additional foot problems unrelated to my other condition. I am considering seeing this doctor as most podiatrists that I have seen have not impressed me. It is a Saturday, so I will call on Monday. I guess the point of this review is to advise others that their website is beyond amazing and extremely detailed and helpful if you want to know more about your condition and understand your options and potential outcomes prior to seeking help. read more

Appt was for 9:40 am. Due to office being hidden and first time there, I got there at 9:41am and was turned away because my paperwork wasn't completed. Foot Dr. - you have my address and payment / insurance information, what more do you need to see me? Paperwork couldn't be completed AFTER the visit? If you're that tight then maybe you should get some help. I'm glad I was able to free up an hour of your time today, I used my time to find another Doctor. read more

Long review but worth it if you're really looking for advice in your search for a podiatrist: 2 1/2 years ago I went to this clinic because I was having feet issues (obviously) and ended up getting orthotics. Fast forward 2 1/2 years later. I called in December to get an appointment. I'm told I'm a "new patient" because I haven't been there for so long. This means that I have to wait longer (three weeks) to get a new patient appointment. It's whatever so I accept the appointment. I go to my appt, go back into the room and the nurse starts asking me why I'm there and I told her why. She tells me that this appointment is just to see the doctor to find out why I'm there and then I have to come back to get my foot scan for new orthotics. I asked her why I couldn't just scanned that day because they already knew why I was coming in as they asked me on the phone when they scheduled the appt. She told me it was because was a "new patient". I voiced my frustration at this "Rule" that they had... definitely not in a mean way because that's not me... But it is frustrating and I voiced my frustration. She got a little annoyed with me and left the room. Dr. Stone comes in and right away jumps on my back because I'm feeling frustrated. Why can't a person feel frustrated? I wasn't mean about it. I didn't shout at anybody or demand anything. Yet she came in and just started getting defensive and angry with me. She was very patronizing and wouldn't let me talk. The whole appointment was weird and uncomfortable. She proceeded to tell me that not only did I have to come in for another appointment but for a total of 4 appointments just to get orthotics. She said that I couldn't get my feet scanned at that appointment because they needed to call the insurance company to make sure that they were going to cover the orthotics and that they would call me when insurance approved and set up the appointment to come in and get my foot scanned. First, you knew why I was coming in so why didn't you call my insurance company to see if they were going to cover it before I even got there? And second, I told her that I didn't care whether Insurance was going to pay for the orthotics or not that I would just take it out of my pocket if they didn't so that I could get scanned that day. Nope Honestly I have never been treated that way at any doctors office. I was shocked. I decided as I left there was no way I was coming back. It's been over three weeks since that appointment and since then I found another doctor, made an appointment and got scanned, and I'm waiting for my second and last appt which is to pick up the orthotics and in that 3 weeks they still have not called me back to set up my appointment for scanning. So yeah, I'm really glad that I found another doctor. If they treat me as a new patient just because I haven't been there every two years then I'm gonna be treated as a new patient every two years because orthotics last 2 to 3 years. I'd have to go to 4 appointments spread out over two months just to get orthotics....Every time I need new orthotics. This happens when clinics try to make the most money they can. Now, I had a great experience with the doctor here. Although, if I knew how the office manager Kathy was going to treat me when I asked about billing, I would have EASILY chosen a different doctor. Kathy tried gaslighting me about things she said to me in person and was not being patient or informative, just rude. Dr Kabula is amazing. She really listens to what you have to say and works toward resolving whatever issue you are having. She takes her time and doesn't rush you in and out. The staff is very good as well. they all work very well together. I had various foot issues for a very long time and saw another podiatrist who did nothing. I saw Dr Kabula and she figured out where I was having problems and had orthotics made up. After over two years of dealing with foot pain and not being about to hike or run much, I am finally back to hiking a lot, putting in a lot of miles and my feet aren't complaining! read more

My feet have had a love hate relationship with Dr. Stone for around 10+ years now. My feet hate hurting, and sometimes hate the ways they have to be healed (boots/casts). But Love the final outcome of feeling better! Dr. Stone is by far one of my favorite doctors out of all of my doctors, specifically because of her no nonsense and humorous personality.The entire staff, Dr. Kubala, Luann (Dr. Stone's MA) & all of office staff are wonderful! read more

I am very impressed with the level of service I received at this office. The front office staff is kind and knowledgeable and Dr. Kubala was amazing. She spent quite a bit of time with me addressing my concerns and explained everything in detail with me. Most doctors only spend five minutes with you and the visits seem very rushed, but that was not the case here, which was a breathe of fresh air. read more

My husband and I both see Dr Kubala. Office staff is kind and professional. Dr Kubala is knowledgeable and has great 'bedside' manner. Drawback is, even as established patient, it can take 6-8 weeks to get an appt with Dr Kubala. When in pain, the wait for appt is not ideal. read more

Dr. Kubala is awesome. I first met her when attending with my wife prior to a foot surgery. So when I needed a Podiatrist, I scheduled a "new patient" appointment. The staff was very competent and professional. I read the "lengthy" review previously posted, hogwash. nuff said!!!! Dr Stone is a great Doctor. Her billing coordinator Kathy is ridiculously rude. We have called numerous times and for two years of having our son as a patient , Kathy can't seem to get the billing correct. Whenever we call she has attitude with us. I call insurance and they tell me no claims were even submitted and then Kathy tells us she submitted and asks for the insurance details every time! i have been to see Dr. Stone for orthotics and tshe treated me well. However the office staff think they are gods. They are rude and condesending. I neede to see Dr. Stone I called and was told she was out of town for a couple days and I would not be able to see her for three weeks or so . I told them I was a current patient and diabetic and needed to see dr. and she told me to go to urgent care center. I do not think Dr. Stone really knows what is going on in her practive and the way the staff treats the patients. I should have stopped coming after my first visit. At first I found Dr. Stone's abrupt demeanor refreshing, but then it started to become condescending and rude. My first appointment was my $50 copay plus $45 for the generic ortotics they sell. They really wanted me to come in to get scanned for the $300 ones... Next, they tried to prescribe me a pain medication that wasn't approved by my insurance without prior authorization. Then they wanted to send me to Costco for a prescription that was the same price as at Walgreens. Office was supposed to close at 4:30 one day when I went, but was closed at 4:00 when I got there. (Now, I will say someone in the office did end up coming out and I got the script) Then at my next appointment (Gotta love $50 co-pays because she's a "specialist") Dr. Stone said the pharmacist was an idiot because the amount of medication I was told to use was incorrect. (One gram of the ointment isn't the size of a pea... I believe that, but does that lead to name calling) Then I was an idiot for suggesting that my bone spur might be the cause of my foot pain too. "BONE SPURS DON'T CAUSE PAIN," Dr. Stone snapped. Then why does every article on the internet say they can. Don't get me wrong, I know there is a lot of misinformation out there... but every single website? Maybe it's not causing mine, but I wouldn't know. I don't know what I'm looking at on an x-ray... Speaking of xrays, apparently those were extra too, but they didn't tell me that at the time of my visit. So when I went in to get custom orthotics I had to pay for that, plus $20 to spend 30 seconds to scan my feet, plus another $50 for Dr. Stone to yell at me and tell me the $400 worth of shoes I just bought weren't right. She didn't even bother to look at them! Two pairs were on the "approved shoe list" that they didn't bother to give me before this visit. I had been out of town for three weeks and was in a lot of pain, so I kept a log of my activities, pain and treatment. I got scolded again, I was supposed to call when I was in pain. She NEVER said that. What could she have done on the phone 2,000 miles away? Besides, when I do call, no one returns my call! The straw today was when I went in and they said I needed to give them more money that my insurance didn't give them in addition to my co-pay. Then I was upset because I budgeted for my co-pay. Not everyone earns $50/15 minutes. Did I get compassion or understanding? No... I got treated like I was doing something wrong by being upset. Looook, heere is the paper you signed saying it is an estimate and you're causing a tantrum in lobby. I walked out, I can't afford it. the extra money wasn't in my budget. What else was I supposed to do with their hidden charges? I don't go to the doctor to be verbally abused. You're supposed to help people. read more

I cannot begin to tell you how amazing my experiences have been with this practice. I have been seeing Dr. Kubala from almost a year now, whether it was an office visit, surgeries, phone calls, or emails, each appointment has been spectacular. Everyone on staff if poiliet, professional, helpful, and super friendly. In my work life I encounter people all the time with foot issues and I always recommend this practice to my customers and even my family, my mom is going to become a patient as well!!!!! read more

I have been going to see Dr. Stone for a year now. She is a good doctor no issues. And the staff here at this office are polite greets you as you come in. I ALWAYS have great experience with them. When I did have a question re: my bill I did get answers took me a few minutes to figure it out with them but she went over with me at where I understand my insurance. I also couldn't pay one visit for my last visit (my son had my visa card). They were real nice about it. I have had NO issues with this office. I am getting surgery in 2 weeks I have all confidence in these doctors that I have chosen. I am very pleased with this office I give them all stars. read more

BEWARE!! Long read but worth it!! First,I was "scolded" by one of the front desk girls, Lynnette, for being late to my appt. My appt was for 2:15 and it was 2:16 when I was signing in. I do know that patients are expected to show up 15 minutes early to fill out paperwork, and I always try to adhere to that, but things happen sometimes. Secondly, after my visit with the doctor, when I went to check out, Luanne started to pull out her calculator and add up the total for my visit. I am on a high deductible plan, with no co-pays, and have been on this plan for years. I have been on this plan for years, and have been seen by many different doctors, and have never been asked for a dime up front for the deductible. I thought maybe there was a misunderstanding and she thought that I had a co-pay, so I politely explained that I am on a high deductible plan with no co-pay. To which Luanne responds by looking at me like I am a complete moron and a thief, and tells me, "Yes but it is still YOUR responsibility to pay your deductible!" I never said, or thought, it wasn't my responsibility. I explained to her that I was very confused by this, because I have never gone to a doctor and had them try to collect the deductible right on the spot. I also told her that I was not informed about this policy ahead of time and that if I had been then I would have made my appt at another time, or possibly gone somewhere else. Luanne slammed her pen down on the scheduling calendar and proceeded to scold me as though I were an unruly child in daycare..."Well it is YOUR responsibility....we don't care how OTHER doctor's offices do it, WE are not going to chase after you to make sure that we get our money from you!!....YOU are responsible for YOUR deductible....it IS posted in the lobby!!" After reiterating to her that I was unprepared to pay the entire amount today, as I was not informed ahead of time (and did not see the supposed sign in the lobby), she reprimanded me a final time, letting me know that "NEXT TIME, payment WILL be due at the time of visit!" I was so disgusted with her tone and her attitude, as well as Lynnette's from earlier, I told her that I will not be coming back another time. She slams her pen down again and says, "Fine, I will not schedule you a follow-up appt." I leave. Lastly, I called the next morning to complain to the Office Manager about the way I was treated by Lynnette and Luanne. The Office Manager should be more professional and courteous, right? WRONG! The very first thing that Dee Mooney said to me after I explained to her what happened in her office the day before is, "So, let me ask you: what do YOU own in all of this?" Excuse me?! Am I hearing this right? Again, she asks, "What do YOU take responsibility for in what happened yesterday?" I seriously could not believe my ears! I told her the whole story; I admitted that I was late (by ONE minute, mind you), I told her that I did not pay my deductible yesterday, but I also explained WHY. Instead of offering any type of apology for the way her staff treated me, she went on and on about what I did wrong. My partner overheard the conversation and was extremely irate! She picked up the phone and demanded to speak to someone higher up in command than the Office Manager, Dee Mooney. She was put on hold and surprisingly enough, the call was disconnected. She called back and demanded again to speak with the doctor. After much hesitation, a woman came to the phone who claimed to be Dr. Stone but who I swear sounded exactly like the same woman I had been speaking with, Dee, but I cannot be sure, so I'll give them the benefit of the doubt and say it was Dr. Stone. Well, she did "apologize" for the behavior of her staff, but when I stated that I was going to be writing a review on this office and the way I was treated, she told me that would be harassment, AND told me that I was going to write bad things about her, when my experience with her was a pleasant one. Ok, first of all, writing a review is one of the freedoms that we have; it is not illegal, nor is it harassment....get real! Second, don't sit and ASSUME and tell me what I "am going" to do! I had actually even told the Office Manager, during my complaint, that the only pleasant experience there was with Dr. Stone and the nurse (do not remember her name), and that I would not be dishonest in my review. Well, IF that really was Dr. Stone, I can say this: the office visit with her was pleasant, she was very nice at the time of my visit, but per our phone conversation, I can say that she has as much professionalism as the rest of the staff in this office: NONE! Regardless, I wouldn't have recommended Thunderbird Foot Care to my worst enemy, even if my experience with Dr. Stone had stayed a positive one, because it would not be worth dealing with the rest of the staff. Do yourself a favor ANY other doctor!! I've been to some crappy doctors over years, but NONE are as bad as this one!!! read more

The staff is very polite and professional. One of the previous reviewer complained about the staff but I don't believe it's the office personnel, it's the insurance coverage she (the patient) chose. I was seen by Dr. Stone and thought she was thorough and professional. I liked her conservative approach and wasn't just throwing out expensive treatment suggestions. We saw doctor Stone (I believe that's her name), and she was great. We brought in our son who's under 2 and he was very comfortable with her. Everyone in the office was polite as well.
