I originally signed the contract in June, and was not told that I would have to wait months, incurring storage fees for the estate during the time. I had to move everything out of my Mother's house in late July because the gated community where she previously lived, Tanoan, did not allow estate sales. I was sent an abrupt text message a few days ago informing me that for unknown reasons, Talbott Auctions would not be able to handle the estate sale. This was quite a shock, since I was looking forward to liquidating the estate and closing the book on my Mom's move and relocation into a retirement home. I had previously brought to their storefront 10 heavy boxes of books that I had hoped would be included in the estate sale. I was told that I needed to provide an address where they could be delivered. Now the boxes are sitting on my front porch and I am not sure where to store them, since all of my garage space is taken up. This is very disappointing to me and my three siblings since we have virtually no time to deal with this because of busy work and family schedules. I am sorry that I didn't do more research about alternate estate sale companies/consignment stores.

Ester helped me organize clean-out. On the pick-up day, it was chaotic but kind of fun. I was helping people move things around and got to hear some of their stories about why they wanted to buy certain things. Most of the buyers were professional resellers, so they were professional. We sold more than we thought. I think some of the items were grossly underpriced, BUT it was worth it to quickly downsize my dad's estate. If I had sold each item on Ebay I would have made 10x more money with 10x more effort and time. Ester was very communicative throughout the whole process as their admin. I would definitely suggest that if you want to downsize fast, these are the people to call.

When I picked up item, It was signed by some no name sculptor. I contacted auction house, asking for a partial refund. They tried to pawn off responsibility on the owner, claiming it was her fault the information was incorrect, asking HER to refund me, asking me to waste MORE of my time and effort to return them ! Sloppy, unprofessional and irresponsible. The auction house's duty is to vet any item...and they sold a ton of other allegedly famous artist/signed pieces...they do regularly...how many of those are misrepresented? BUYER BEWARE
