Then, a new walk-in arrived with his son. The new arrival spoke in another language and a third hair cutter came out. I watched the exchange as the host pointed at the schedule, mentioned walk-in in reference to the new person and then the new hair cutter looked at me and said he would not be able to take me after the new walk in jumped ahead. I guess at this establishment it REALLY pays to be a regular. This place does not seem like they want new business. I recommend finding another option (I will).

Ryan was very rude when asking how I wanted my haircut done, and he continued to complain about my thick hair and how it is hard to work with. It is almost like I have too much hair and i'm looking for a HAIRCUT. Ryan is funny and can be fun to talk to, but he was very rude to me and my old barber. My old barber quit which is why I was coming to this shop as an alternative. Ryan charged 36$ cash and made me use his ATM even though he has a card reader. Ryan took my fade to the absolute top of my head, made it so that my corners could not be filled anymore, thinned the everliving hell out of my hair, and made parts very uneven. I do not recommend this shop because he rushes, is rude, only takes cash, and does a poor job.

When I first moved to the Fairfax area, I went around to a lot of the "best" shops looking for a…read morebarber I could trust. I saw varying levels of skill elsewhere--not necessarily bad work, just inconsistent--but Trieu is easily at the top of my list and has become my go-to. I barber as a hobby--not professionally, just for friends--so I look at haircuts a bit differently than the average client. I'm a pretty normal, low-maintenance guy regarding my own hair, but because I know the trade, it honestly kills me when I see professionals taking shortcuts or ignoring the fundamentals just to turn over the chair. I wanted someone who simply respects the craft, and that is Trieu. His technical approach is unique and demonstrates high-level skill: For medium length on top, he moves away from rote sectioning (holding hair between fingers). Instead, he combs along and against the grain to gauge the natural fall, cuts using a freehand sculpting technique, and thoroughly cross-checks. The Result: This method optimizes the cut for your specific head shape rather than just following a cookie-cutter pattern. It creates natural texture within the cut itself, saving time on point-cutting or texturizing later. Other details you will notice: * Sanitation: Hygiene is on point; he changes out his straight razor blades for every single client. * Detailing: He is efficient, but he doesn't rush the finish. He does multiple rounds of detailing with the trimmers to catch any strays and clean up the perimeter. * The Transition: His scissor work connects the top and sides smoothly for a solid blend. I wouldn't say the fades are 100% perfect, but they are a solid 98%. Given the volume he handles and his efficiency, the execution is exceptional. Like I said, I'm not vain about my hair, I just appreciate good work and quality care. I trust Trieu's skills completely.

I have had haircuts from several of the barbers, and have considered the quality of the cuts…read moresatisfactory and the fees standard for the area. However, I have a concern about something that may annoy or even offend some of their customers. All of the barbers appear to have Vietnamese heritage. They are all totally fluent in English. But it is fairly common for some of them to engage in conversations entirely in their native language, including laughing, etc. I suspect this is all innocent back and forth among them, but I think it is fair to say that many Americans would consider it a bit rude. It would be unfortunate if this resulted in some customers deciding to go elsewhere. This is offered as constructive criticism and for no other reason.
