I've been seeing a resident at LewisGale Physicians Family and Academic Medicine - Valley View…read more This is the worst health care i've ever received. A resident miscoded a visit Medicare should have covered but didn't. The resident's supervisor did not respond to my email in their system. The billing department said they'd help me on multiple occasions, eventually comprehending that it was miscoding, but they did not succeed. So I'm out hundred of dollars and haven't seen in a general practitioner in over a year.

Mindy, medical assistant conducted the first part of my physical exam, then Casey took over the rest. She truly took her time and paid attention, and the visit couldn't have gone any better. Lab in the same building, and the staff was efficient and friendly. This was also the first time in a long time where a blood draw didn't cause massive bruising. Thank you! If you are looking for help for yourself or for a family member or for a friend, this is a place…read morewhere you will find help. Every single employee is kind and non-judgmental. They are ALL kind and non-judgemental to ALL of their patients. If you've had experience trying to get help for someone you care about, you probably know how rare this experience is. You've likely witnessEd the person you love - or you yourself - treated unkindly, disrespectfully, judgementally, and often even in an ugly manner. You will not find that here. Not from the doctor, the nurses, the receptionist, counselors, or even the clinic director. They ALL sincerely want to help people struggling with addiction - and it shows. They even want to help the people who love someone that is struggling with addiction, because addiction is hard on everyone involved, not just the patient. If every clinic, hospital, or medical office treated patients so respectfully and kindly, anyone suffering from addiction would have an excellent chance fighting it. They would have professional support and a great deal more dignity.

Today I was scheduled for my first appointment to get my shoulder looked at as I have been in pain…read morefor months. I tried self medicating myself through videos online with physical therapy but it wasn't cutting it. I looked online and saw this place was rated very well and decided to give them a try. I arrived today at the Bonsack location and was not able to be seen due me not having a referral from when I saw my doctor back in December. The issue boils down to a lack of communication through appointments because I was never notified to bring that information. The only information they said I could bring if I could get it was my X-Rays from my shoulder area but if not they would reach out to Carilion and get them. I had already taken time off from work to be seen today and I'm told that I have to reschedule until I get a referral from my doctor. I just don't understand for the price that I would've paid to be seen that someone on your end cannot reach out to my physician and confirm the validity of my statements.

That is a fault of Carillion's, not the Dr. The waiting room is spacious, so you don't feel creeped out by being surrounded by strangers in close quarters. He understood the massive financial repercussions that we would have from a poorly worded order and was therefore careful in the crafting of his records. Much appreciated! He always took time to show us the xrays and explain how things were progressing and he used layman's terms. I highly recommend.
