My friend sees another Dr, so I know that if my Dr isn't available to deliver my baby, I'm still confident in the other Drs in the practice. My doctor is Dr. Michelle Heintges and I can't say enough great things about her! She takes the time to get to know you and goes out of her way to make you feel comfortable and understood. I prepare my questions in advance of each appointment we've discussed my birth preferences throughout the entire pregnancy. Parking for each appointment has been easy & although my husband cannot go to each full appointment (due to COVID regulations), he has been welcome (after temp checks and waiting in a separate area) at each ultrasound.

Parking is in a parking garage that is connected to the building, and you take the elevator up to your floor. If you're someone looking for a very personal, 1:1 experience with an OBGYN who will be directly…read moreinvolved with you throughout your care, I'd gently suggest that may not be what you'll find here, at least based on my experience. I called Magnolia OBGYN on 04/01 around 9:00 AM, concerned I was likely having a miscarriage due to severe symptoms. The front desk transferred me to Dr. Roth's medical assistant, who was kind and thorough in collecting my symptoms. She gave me guidance on what to watch for and said she would speak with Dr. Roth and follow up. A couple hours later, she called back to let me know that after speaking with Dr. Roth, the recommendation was to come in for bloodwork to check HCG levels and my blood type. I was also told Dr. Roth would not be available to see me for at least two weeks due to her schedule. I went in for the blood draw that same day, and that experience was quick and professional. On 04/02, I received a notification that my results were available, but I didn't hear anything from the office. I called back the next afternoon (04/03) and was told they would have the medical assistant review the results with me. As of now, nearly 48 hours later, I still have not received a follow-up. This is my first miscarriage, and I've had to turn to Google and friends for answers. I'm sharing this not to criticize anyone personally, but to offer insight for others. If you're looking for a more hands-on or responsive experience, especially during emotional or uncertain times, it may be worth asking in advance what kind of provider relationship you can expect here.

I've had some mental health issues for as long as I can remember, and during my last pregnancy I struggled with it a lot. Working with Dr. Thompson was completely different. She took my mental health into serious consideration and made sure I knew how important it was for me to take care of that as well as my physical health. She is also the reason why I started seeing a therapist; as she heavily recommended it at the beginning of the pregnancy and that on top of my medicine management made the whole experience so much healthier mentally than my first pregnancy. I absolutely love Dr. Thompson and I'm excited to have her as my OB/GYN for years to come! Also, her nurse was incredible as well! Deliana (not sure how to spell her name, hopefully I got that right! Haha) also got back to me quickly about any questions (even stupid pregnant ones) I had.

When I originally called to ask some general questions about what exactly a doula does, she was kind, patient, and so freaking educated about the process of childbirth. We were offered a tour of Baylor hospital (virtual due to COVID), newborn classes, and tons of educational resources after booking with NDDA. What stood out to me most was the fact that the all female team there just made you feel like you were so seen, every step of the way. As a Black woman, childbirth can be an extremely scary experience, just look up the statistics of mistreatment in the healthcare space for minorities. Melissa and team advocated for my husband and I. We felt taken care of every step of the way. Thank you NDDA!

My primary reason too for picking this place was the fact they offer a beautiful placenta art print. I wanted to honor my placenta because it's such an incredible and powerful organ, and I'm obsessed with the art prints. They're both framed and are hanging up in my daughters' room. I've worked with Meredith L. and Madison Prez for the placenta encapsulation. They were both very easy to contact and responded promptly over text. I worked with Madison most recently, and she picked up the placenta and quickly processed it and delivered it to my home. I got placenta pills, a tincture, the keepsake cord, and the art print. I love the packaging and branding too- very alice in wonderland. I highly recommend this service and would work with Madison again. The art print she made was stunning!
