This is a great church, I've been going here for about 7 years and I am still in love with the pastor and the community.

I was looking for their new address and was surprised to see some of the reviews below. Thought I'd…read moreshare more information for those looking to come to this church. Firstly, this is a nondenominational Christian church. By its very nature, it doesn't teach the philosophies of other Christian churches such as Baptist, Presbyterian, etc. What they have in common is the belief in the Bible and Jesus, but if you're looking for a place with hard stances on certain social or political issues, then this isn't the place. Faith Community preaches Christian values and biblical scripture to empower individuals to make their own choices. They will not, however, tell you what to think. Yes, it's a feel good church. You'll come here to get the word of God and hear a practical approach to the Bible. Every service focuses on a particular subject and sometimes they hold a series of services focusing on a particular story in the Bible. It's a great way to incorporate Biblical teachings into modern day life. Services typically feel practical, inspirational, and refreshing. Some people may prefer the "tough love" type of preaching and that's fine too, but you won't find it here. They do, however, have additional services for those seeking more focused Bible studies, women's group, etc. The congregation is diverse. The people that come here are all on a different path on their journey with God - some new to the church, some skeptics, and some who come from traditional evangelical backgrounds. Like any church, tithing takes part at some point in the service. And like any church, you're encouraged to give. It's completely up to the person though, and no one will guilt you if you don't. Personally, I've always been happy to give because I get to experience the donations at work. At the old location, this meant a clean and comfortable space that was always well-maintained and accessible for everyone. To me (and many others), it was clear that the money was well invested into the church. I hope my perspective helps others determine if this may be the right church for them!

I don't like the seating. But at the end I'm not there for comfort but rather to hear the word of…read moregod

I've never written a church review before, but Real Life L.A. isn't just any church -- it's a place…read morethat completely changed what "church" means to me. From the moment I walked through the doors, I felt something different. It wasn't just the warm smiles or the cozy, come-as-you-are atmosphere -- it was the message. Pastor Jim's preaching is on a whole other level. He doesn't just teach the Bible -- he brings it to life. His sermons are so engaging, full of humor, depth, love, and a down-to-earth compassion that makes you feel like he's speaking directly to your heart. It's the kind of preaching that makes you lean in, laugh out loud, and sometimes even tear up -- because it's that real. One of the most meaningful moments for our family personally was after I gave birth. Not only did Pastor personally visit our family in the hospital (the first time any pastor has ever done that in my life to be honest), but the whole church family showed up -- quite literally -- with homemade meals after my c-section surgery by my door. That kind of love? It's rare. And it's real. Another thing I deeply appreciate about Real Life is that we don't shy away from hard questions. Whether it's world events, social issues, or doubts about faith, this is a place where open conversations are encouraged. There are thoughtful discussions, seminars, and spaces to wrestle with the big stuff -- all in an atmosphere of grace, humility, and truth. It's refreshing to be part of a church that isn't afraid to engage with the real world head-on. If you're searching for a church that feels like home -- where the Word is alive, the people are genuine, and grace flows freely -- come experience Real Life L.A., come as you are.

The trail is on the church compound which is super huge and very pretty we drove around to check it out... This isn't a beginner trail which is something other reviewers dont mention? The switchbacks are steep and curvy and many rock sliding areas, it also looks like it can get muddy you can see other animal tracks deep! There are random benches one was broken so be careful. We actually didn't make it all the way this time I think we were like 30 min short so we want to try again we did an hr up with small breaks to take pics and sit on benches. We had a 64 ounce water bottle and we drank it all fyi. We also ran into a rattle snake coming down, he warned us with his rattle and scurried away into the bushes and we also saw wild deer roaming the property! So be careful there are warning signs, ppl come here at night too but I dont think its a good idea cuz of those switch backs. Really pretty here, there was no one when we came super peaceful.
