He identified my body type first, then customized his treatments accordingly and gave me advice about foods I should eat and foods I should avoid, based on my specific body type. The technique is painless (honestly!) and quick (15 minutes at most), and Dr. Jee has a respectful and attentive bedside manner. He is very kind about answering any questions you may have (I had a lot). Also, he takes it upon himself to deal with the insurance side of things so that you don't have to bother with any of that. He accepts Kaiser patients and the co-pay is extremely minimal. I highly recommend seeing Dr. Jee for whatever you're dealing with. He really can help.

Dr. Jee seems to be a very nice person who clearly believes in his work…read more I visited him because I had a herniated L5/S1 disc in my back pushing on my sciatic nerve and causing all sorts of radiating pain. I was hopeful when first visiting him that he would help my pain. My insurance accepted his treatments which made it a low cost option. Unfortunately, after four treatments, I experienced no pain reduction, Potentially even a slight increase in pain. I think I am just a bad candidate for acupuncture. Dr. Jee told me that he had a hard time feeling my pulse and determining which body type I fell into. He tried two different body types. Maybe if I kept going he would have found the right one. But it just started to feel helpless. So I elected to have a microdiscetomy procedure to fix the underlying issues medically. If you are looking for an acupuncturist, he may be a reasonable option. But his treatments last just a few minutes compared to the normal 30-60 min procedures of a traditional acupuncturist. Has he figured out some new secret to a several thousand year old art? Or is he just trying to maximize the patients he can see and charge within his working hours? I can't answer that question. Just know it didn't help with my condition.

I've been a patient of Dr. Curtis's for the past 3 months and I am amazed at her intuitiveness, her…read morecompassion and her knowledge of how to deal with complex health issues. I am a nutrition nerd who reads and studies up on food as medicine, but after years of VERY stressful life situations and trying to self manage my diet, I was still lethargic and moody, even with a squeaky clean diet (no grains, no sugar, no diary). Many of us know that when you can't fix things yourself through diet, there's likely something else going on. It was time to see a doctor who practices functional medicine. Around this time, I also learned that my sister has a specific genetic mutation that could impact my health, so I threw that on the agenda. I arrived at the office with a list of things I needed her input on. She took time to sit with me, review the very detailed medical history questionnaire and listen to what was going on. She was careful and thorough during our visit. She spent an entire hour and a half with me - reviewing my history. No interruptions. No sitting in a room for 45 minutes waiting to speak to the doctor. Me and Dr. Curtis - discussing my issues one on one for over an hour. Who does that anymore? No one. It's not surprising that this level of treatment comes at a cost. Functional doctors can be pricey, but I knew that beforehand. I was also prepared to pay out of pocket if need be as insurance may not cover some of the tests or supplements. My health and the knowledge I gain by working with Dr. Curtis is worth any amount I pay. I am learning how to cope with the stresses of life - what supplements help me in which ways. Which foods work well for my body and which result in negative consequences. My father died young of a sudden heart attack and I am convinced that had I not seen Dr. Curtis, learned the details of my genetic makeup and what lifestyle modifications I needed to make - I would end up with the same fate. The fees I pay for office visits, diagnostic tests and the like are investments in MY health. I'm taking control of my health vs. resorting to pharmacutical remedies and I believe that this investment is worth every penny. I am so very grateful to Dr. Curtis for the work that she does. I can tell by her demeanor that she is doing this work from her heart. She is mindful of the cost of the supplements that she recommends. For example, I was on a 21 day gut rebuilding diet which necessitated a specialized protein powder supplement that was expensive. After the 21 days were up, she and I discussed what to do with the leftover powder and she recommended I use the rest up for meal replacements since it would be wasteful to throw it out and she'd hate for me to lose the $ I'd spent buying it. She also gives samples of supplements to try to make sure it will work with your body composition before you purchase a full bottle. I could not ask for more in a doctor than what Dr. Curtis provides. She is knowledgable, compassionate and she listens. She's not rushing you out of the office because she has to see 5 patients an hour. She is there for you during your appointment time. Her attention is focused on you and your needs. If this is the type of doctor - patient relationship you're looking for, look no further. I recommend AFM and Dr. Curtis to anyone with health challenges. I am a customer for life!

I requested a consultation to determine if this 8 Constitution style Acupuncture would work for me. However Seoung failed to return any of my calls that I left on his voicemail. Clearly he doesn't care about his patients, all he cares about is collecting prompt payment and nothing more. No wonder Blue Cross and Blue Shield won't contract with him. That should have been the first warning sign. Don't throw money down the drain like I did, save yourself some money and headache and go somewhere else.

This was my first experience ever with the foot bath and colonic and I will highly recommend it…read moretime and time over. Rebecca was the one who sat my friends and I, got us started and informed us of details of what come with the foot bath and what to expect. Not only was she informative but she was super sweet and friendly. If you are unfamiliar with the iconic foot bath your feet go into a Spa like tub where they add salt water and a machine that generates any toxins that your body may be holding onto and in return your foot water color will change. They have a chart that tells you what the color of your foot bath means and what is being drawn out of your body. (It's gross but also really cool to see)!! Once we finished our 30 minute session with Rebecca and the footbath we then were instructed to go to a colonic room where Trish instructed us on what a Colonic benefits for you and how to insert the instruments provided. (Believe it or not inserting was the easiest part)! At least for me. Once the instructional was over, Trish and my friends left me to myself to begin the process. They provide you with a disposable gloves, blue, and the tube that will be inserted. As this was my first time naturally I was nervous about inserting myself however I did feel that that was the easiest part on this journey as I did not know you had to release the water and (other findings) yourself I thought it was all just supposed to come out on its own (boy was I wrong)! I did hold the water that was being inserted for too long which causes your stomach to cramp (like you have to go to the bathroom) and for a first timer that's probably not the best to hold in the water you want to release. After 10 minutes I told Trish I think I was done because the cramping was so intense however she was extremely sweet and encouraged me to keep going and I'm so glad that she did because once I was told I had to release it was so much easier!! You do have the option also to see your movements and what you are releasing. Once my 30 minute session was up they instruct you on how to clean up your self they provide a sprayer which is extremely convenient as well as wipes (which are warm) and paper towel. As a first time or they do tell you that you probably will release more after your session is finished and you remove the tube I was one of those people who experienced that and I just used the sprayer to clean myself up. With all that being said I do highly recommend everyone experiencing a Colonic twice in their life it is definitely a good experience I woke up the next morning not feeling bloated I ate two meals so far and I feel satisfied I don't feel overly full, or bloated. They do recommend what they call a "back to back"session however my schedule is so crazy I am unable to do a back to back session but I will be back and continue to go back

Unlike most of the ailments and conditions he treats in short order, he told me up front it may take a long time to cure this problem. But, his weekly treatments consistently keep me feeling better. Conventional medicine diagnosed what it is but couldn't treat it. Dr. Du also treats me for other ailments as they occur. I share all my medical issues and test results with him keep him informed about my overall condition. And, he enjoys explaining things to me when I have questions about them. He once permanently stopped a painful muscle spasm I had with one needle immediately! Another time I came to see him the morning after a local urgent care office and then hospital emergency room put me through hours of tests that cost $1,000s, but could not diagnose a painful abdominal condition. They suggested I see a gastroenterologist the next day. Dr. Du diagnosed the problem in ten seconds using a simple hands-on test for appendicitis. The gastroenterologist concurred shortly afterwards using the same test. Then he got me to an emergency room for an appendectomy right away. Dr. Du's credentials and accomplishments in China and in the USA listed in his resume on his website are considerable and impressive. As are the surprising number of medical conditions he can treat with acupuncture that are listed on his website. I strongly recommend that anyone seeking treatment for any of those conditions consult Dr. Du. Over the past ten years I have seen that he is quite dedicated to healing his patients. And, his Chinese perspective is enlightening and refreshing.
