Frustrating, noisy and tiny bits of paints was chipping away, hence the need to re-paint those affected areas. Solution: Came here and was greeted courteously, and was recommended the right nail hooks and hammer to nail into the back of my artworks and onto the walls of my house, without wrecking the walls. Awesome: they check whether you have free reign (you own your joint) or are you a tenant? Then they come up with appropriate solutions. Excellent service, and the prices are great. Result: My artworks have not fallen down for at least a few weeks, not once. They're secure. The product knowledge here is top notch. Rare for hardware stores. My artworks are no longer falling down. Highly recommended, and I believe they also deliver too.

Truth be told, I'm a little intimidated. But when my trusty instant-read meat thermometer ran out of battery and I opened it up to see some type I had never heard of, I was on mission. I stopped at every chemist, grocer, and office supply store between Central and Mitre10 Pitt St and no one knew what I was looking for. Even eBay couldn't help me out. With minimal expectations, I swallowed my fears and stepped inside Mitre10. Rather than asking me what the heck I was doing in a DIY shop, I was instantly met with a friendly hello and an offer of help. I mentioned the battery I was looking for and she LOOKED IT UP. Apparently there's a battery compatibility book and it turns out that my rare battery was equivalent to a very common one that I could have purchased at any of the other stores I had been to if someone had simply looked it up. I've been back to this location a couple of times since and the staff are always happy to provide guidance and really aren't so scary after all.

I purchased a combination lock from here two weeks ago and used it twice, the second time I used it I went to turn the shaft back to lock the padlock and wouldn't move... took it back to the store and was told it was my fault, the guy I bought it of mentioned that there are a few people that have brought them back already and told me to make sure I lock the padlock every time after I use it... the guy I spoke to was rude and arrogant! No customer service skills at all!! Told him he's stolen my money and told me "no I didn't" I repeated and say yes you did DO NOT GO HERE

They literally took down their business on google because reviews are so bad…read more Happy to get in my car and drive up to Mitre 10 on Oxford to avoid the high prices and horrendous service even though this place is 50m walk from me. I don't think i've met a worse person than the man who owns this hardware store. I'm a local so know he has a terrible reputation but after asking politely (3x) for him to show me where some bolts were and him refusing to do anymore than just point down an isle I had to walk out. Have obviously had grumpy service in the past but complete refusal to be shown where an item is - that was a first. Avoid at all costs.

Paddington shops have changed to the deterement in that time. Thank goodness there are a few, Issenbergs being one , unpretentious with all the hardware requirements you would want.
