By the time I left, about 1 hr later, that parking lot was full. The amount and piles of clothing are insane, but as someone mentioned in the comments, you really have to be persistent and dig to get quality clothing, which, spoiler alert, I didn't! There were so many people, it was impossible to move around with ease, and I didn't have the patience to sort through all that mess for the perfect clothing item. Plus, the noise and assortment of running, crying and yelling children was not fun. After an hour, I could take no more, and speed walked out of there. I will say the value was amazing, though. On Tuesdays, they sell the clothing for .50! That's right, each piece less than a dollar, which explains the crowds and overflowing carts throughout the place. So the value is there, I just needed the endurance, know-how and focus, to find a great piece. Honestly, I don't know if I'll return. I may need more training on the Art of thrift. I was not impressed by the lack of higher end brands, so I'll continue shopping at my known spots. At the very least, because there's less of a commotion, and the thus an enjoyable shopping experience. Sorry! No pictures. I was too overwhelmed to take any. ‍

Prices, however, we're still on the higher end for some items, such as toys and home decor. They even beat Goodwill on prices, and I think it will can be pricey. The selection in some areas was very limited, such as books and DVDs. I didn't get to experience the service, so I can't say much on how they treat clientele, but I will say the store was clean and organized.

This place is really a gem of a thrift store because it's very much a boutique of quirky and thoughtful items, as well as nice and high-end clothing items and shoes :) ! Perhaps its appeal could be due to its central location within Alamo Heights, which is considered upscale :) ! People tend to bring very quality and charming items that you might not always see in the standard Goodwill or Salvation Army store :D ! By the way, I still do bring donation items to Goodwill and Salvation Army, which I still think are great donation stores and centers ;) ! I even donated my prom dress a long time ago to Salvation Army :) ! The Green Door Thrift Store has cute trinkets, dinnerware, mugs, art and home decor that tend to stand out a little more :) ! I had collected some Fiesta medals over these past 2 years in San Antonio. But because I don't anywhere to truly display them, I decided to donate these to Green Door so that perhaps a Fiesta medal enthusiast might see these as great finds to purchase :) ! I also brought some nice party favors, like small vases, that I received before at bridal and baby showers. I also brought some mugs as well. I can only use so many vases and mugs, which is why I decided to bring the surplus in case anyone might want them or find them useful :) ! The Green Door is open for just a few hours on select days, mainly because it relies on the services of volunteers. A lot of these volunteers are super friendly, helpful and extremely nice :) ! When I dropped off my items for donation, they graciously greeted me and promptly gave me a donation receipt :) ! Since I was already enamored by the warm ambiance created by the friendly volunteers, as well as the excitement of customers within the store, I decided to check out the store items myself :D ! I ended up purchasing a cute wooden sign with the message "Friends are like rainbows. Always there to cheer you up after a storm" for a whopping $4 :D ! It was absolutely perfect for displaying on my mantle ;) ! There are also some nice children's books that are very reasonably priced :) ! I looked through some of their clothing items and was amazed that they have some fantastic brands like Tory Burch :) ! Some of their evening dresses are really beautiful and high quality for great prices :D ! I would say much more reasonable prices than the premiums you might pay for brand new dresses elsewhere! If I ever need to attend a formal event, I'll definitely check out their selection first before I go to the department stores :) ! I might just able to find a really nice dress that hasn't been worn, or has only been worn a few times :D ! I even came across a wedding dress that was priced at just $25 :D ! What a great deal for a dress that you will most likely only wear once :) ! Nowadays, it is no longer frowned upon when brides-to-be look first to thrift stores for affordable or vintage bridal dresses :D ! Some customers felt that some items here are pricier than they would like for their respective budgets. I would recommend never spending more than you think an item is worth. At the same time, I feel like some items are very quality that their price point seems somewhat justified. However, I can't say that for all items in this store. If you haven't been here yet, I recommend at least checking this place out if you are ever in the area :) ! You never know what you might find ;) ! If you also have items for donation, it seems like the volunteers truly take care of your items before these are priced and displayed on their store shelves :) !

They have shorter hours than your usual thrift stores, so make sure to check those before you go! When I went, they had a great selection of antique glasses, dishware, clothes, Halloween/Christmas decor, home linens, shoes, ballgown dresses, and bags. The store is relatively small, but they pack so much stuff in it! I ended up spending nearly 1.5 hours here. The prices are reasonable. They are slightly more than some goodwills. The price ticket will show you the future price discount and the dates that those prices will be applied.

One hundred percent of the proceeds of items sold at this shop funds the Helotes Humane Society located right next door. The old house is the thrift shop. A driveway with a sign for drop off will direct you to the back of the house. A large sign is posted on the fence of items they do not accept. All the items sold at the thrift shop are well organized and labeled nicely. There are so many good finds! Lots of antiques and vintage items too. The ladies that work at the shop are very kind, friendly, and helpful. I bought a vintage knit nativity scene that I absolutely love, Christmas lights, coasters, and a tree skirt. They offer military discount on Thursday and senior discount on Friday. I had a blast at this shop and will be back. Besides the Helotes Humane society next door, there's also a small dog park behind it.

I received exellent customer service from Steven an employee at the location that was stocking the floor and had it well kept. He helped with a tote bag that I purchased. Once I got to the register there were two young girls working and they were both very friendly and polite to me and all the other customers while I was standing in line. These three employees deserved some recognition for a job well done!

The employee handed them to me and sold them without saying anything. Later, staff became rude and accusatory, and one employee actually pointed me out to the customer who supposedly had them on hold. That was unnecessary, embarrassing, and completely out of line. Goodwill usually does not hold items, that's their policy. If this store chooses to break that rule, they need to clearly mark the item or pull it. Instead, they sold it to me and then tried to make me feel guilty for their own mistake. Very unprofessional behavior. Pointing me out to another customer is a major violation of standard retail service practices. It shifts the blame for the store's logistical mistake onto an innocent customer and creates unnecessary conflict.
