What really stood out, though, was how collaborative and supportive he was throughout the process. As a first-time owner-builder managing my own project, I had a lot to learn, and Connor went out of his way to guide me through each phase. That kind of partnership is rare in the construction world. One of the biggest highlights was the shou sugi ban siding--a challenging and labor-intensive material to work with. Connor and his team nailed it. The result looks incredible and adds a unique, high-end touch to the exterior of our home. In 2012, he installed new subflooring and ceramic tile in our large bathroom after a flood required a total tear out He also refinished an original fir floor that was covered in 80 years of layers! The blonde wood floor is amazing, he even matched and created moldings that match the rest of the period woodwork in our home. We were very impressed with Ben's work, and chose him to do our kitchen remodel in January 2014 The project included three rooms (HUGE kitchen, dining room, mudroom) and required working around A LOT of quirky design features of the old house. In addition to all of the foibles of the house itself, we asked Ben to create a kitchen that would match the unique and quirky style of US! WOW! What an undertaking that was! On top of that, the whole project was being funded through a family trust, which attached all kinds of emotional baggage. Ben was a great sport and came up with many creative solutions and made our kitchen look lovely, and full of charm and character. The project included taking two of the rooms down to the studs and starting from scratch, as well as creating a checker board floor with "click marmoluem", extensive tile work (including a custom mosaic!) and replacing outdated electric and plumbing. I think Ben is an ethical, thoughtful, skilled professional. We were %100 comfortable handing him the keys to our house and moving out for a month, while he worked- he even checked in with our kitty! We plan to hire him when we make over our second floor!

Into each life some rain must fall. When it does, if you own a home or business in Bend you'll be…read moregrateful if you've had B&R install gutters for you. Top quality product for function and form, the best quality installation, the nicest and most honorable owners with whom to do business and platinum customer service. It does not get better than this. We used B&R for gutters on two homes here in Bend. We've been in this one for going on ten years and last winter we had our first small gutter problem. Stuff happens. The "oops" had nothing to do with B&R, rather an awkward roof tie in design from the house designer. When we called with our little SOS, no emergency we said but needing work, owner Richard was out the next day to assess the work needing to be done. A day after that, three very nice guys showed up to do the work. Although there was front porch "stuff" in the way for them and landscaping in the mix they were so careful with both that you'd never know, except for the fixed gutter, they'd ever been there. If you've worked with other gutter companies that mangle landscaping as they do their work, you'll know how extraordinary a thing it is to have folks be as careful are the B&R crew. Not to mention how unusual it can be for a business to absolutely stand behind their work as do owners Richard and Jean. Not to mention how delightful it is to have your call taken or immediately returned. As added bonus, Richard is a just darned fun personality. Together he and my hubby have solved many of the local government's problems when bumping into each other at a local market's wine tasting table. Big jobs, small jobs, tricky angles, standard installs, tall projects, they do it all and do it with "A plus" outcome. Every person we know who has used B&R Gutters sings their praises. They won't be the cheapest gutter bid in town. But I'd wager for experience (they've been in Bend since 1978, through boom and bust) and quality outcome they are the best. You get what you pay for and then some. B&R Gutters is the only company my husband and I would consider for this work. Their excellent work and service is how customer loyalty is grown.
