The only positive thing about this, "hideaway" is that the greeters, Dave and Carol are super good at their jobs. Of greeting, that is. The website is extremely deceiving, One would believe they are going to be camping in the Sequoias however this is not the case. This campsite does have electric, sewage, and water hook ups. They do have showers and bathrooms. There are no electrical outlets in either the showers or the bathroom. This place is DIRTY. The septic drains are down in the ground and hard to get to. The bathrooms are not clean, this place really is a dump. read more

We were tired and hungry when we pulled in here after a full day hiking among the redwoods. They told us 20 minutes for a table. Then it was 30 minutes after asking 4 different people before our waitress even came to take our order. No one was wearing masks, the police actually came. To tell them not to let people congregate. Having to choose an RV Park to stay in is sort of like choosing the least evil of all that is unholy...but given that for our first RV adventure, we were destined to truly experience all that RV'ing had in store for us! Taking our wonderful "deal of a lifetime" 1994 Toyota Dolphin w/27k original miles on it when we got it, on a short 3-day excursion to Sequoia National Park, we started our planning of our new little adventure. We loaded up our food, our dog, our dog's food, our dog's bed, our dogs multiple chew-resistant leashes...man...just realized how high-maintenance that dog is... Anyways, got the RV all packed up, water tanks filled and with the AM radio "blasting" away...we were off! In amongst trying to talk to "friendly" truckers on the highway with our included Hi-Tech CB Radio...we looked through our internet research about RV spots on the way... Pulling through the metropolis of Three Rivers looking for the RV resort that we originally wanted, Kaweah Park Resort, after one quick "test drive/look" through the park...we PROMPTLY left...I really wished that I had a lot more horsepower in our 4-cyl, because I couldn't leave that place fast enough! BUT, since we didn't stay there, to be fair, I won't leave a review there.... Now relatively desperate for a place to stay, we "blew past" Three Rivers Hideaway at 30mph...it's a hill...we're driving a 4-cyl RV... BUT, saw the sign, spent a loooong time trying to turn this "little" RV around on a narrow highway...went back and went through the tiniest of entrances I've ever seen! I liken the first impression of this place to something like "Snoopy's Doghouse"...looks little from the road...but is HUGE inside...well, "huge" is relative....but to our little RV....huge... Beyond that, it looked as though any RV spot should look in my mind....minus banjos and mountain-men...but the place was surprisingly clean & organized. As we waited for "Uncle Jed" to come out with his bottle of shine in hand...instead we met Dave. What's the shortest way to describe this guy, who happened to be the owner too...my new Best Friend....at least that is how we felt and how he treated us... I know that this review is getting long and I spent waaay too long on "story background"...but in short, this place is GREAT. Prices are great, facilities great and staff are absolutely SUPERB! It was so much nicer here....that we were even willing to drive back down from Sequoia National Park, not staying up there like originally planned...and come back and share top-notch Tequila with Dave on his porch....and watch his cat kick our dog's ass in a little contest of "who's porch is it". This place also has really nice little motel rooms...especially for the price...we even ditched our micro-shower in the RV and rented a room just to use a "real" bathroom. Driving back home at a screaming 50mph on Hwy99...Tripmate sleeping in the passenger seat...the things I thought about: 1) How much could I sell this RV for? 2) I really miss driving my car and driving normal speeds 3) I need a tougher dog 4) I'm DEFINITELY going back to Three Rivers Hideaway to drink shots of Tequila with my new buddy Dave on his porch w/his cat. read more

This place. We were fools on memorial day weekend, we decided last minute to leave LA and head to Sequoia. We got in late 1am/2am. No open campsites in the park. Posted signs about no car camping..we turned around to find a motel or something in town. We spotted an RV campsite with campgrounds advertised. The awesome guy running the desk was still up waiting for some people to arrive. He was really happy to help us out and set us up at the last minute and took awesome care of us. Peace and Love! We just returned from an awesome trip to the Sequoias and stayed here at Three Rivers Hideaway. We stayed 3 nights in our 26ft fifth wheel. We stayed in space 16 with full hookups and had a great time. One down side was that the space was on a slope and with a fifth wheel it was inconvenient. This space was also really tight to back into since their is not a lot of room in the road to maneuver. This space has beautiful shade trees that completely cover the RV and a clean picnic table. The park was really quiet at night, the owner Dave was very accomodating and friendly, it's very cozy, pet friendly was a huge plus, and they have an amazing swimming hole that was a short walk from our site! You totally get that laid back relaxing vibe here, we hope to come back again. read more

A large group of us (9 peeps) stayed at Three Rivers Hideaway for our rafting trip. Our rafting company (AO Rafting) had us meet there in the morning, so we thought we might as well stay there to make things easy. For a campsite, it's definitely got a lot of amenities. There are showers (which were quite clean), flushing toilets, wi-fi, and water spigots. We stayed near their outdoor kitchen, so we also got to use their kitchen sink for cleaning our dishes, which was nice. It's a camp area that's in the middle of town, so there are totally restaurants nearby if you would prefer to keep things simple. It's a bit of an odd place...mostly because it's less like a KOA, more like a small community of folks who live there somewhat permanently in their RVs? The folks are nice enough, and has a small-town feel. My main gripe is that it's somewhat crowded, and there didn't seem to be any noise rules? I had trouble sleeping - partially due to the loud rain, but also because someone was "whooping" while taking some kind of joy ride in the middle of the night. What's up with that? Bottom line: This place is a fine campsite if you need amenities, but I'd prefer to stay at Sequoia National Park for a more outdoorsy experience. read more

Beautiful location. Short walk to the water. We showed up about 1.5 hr. before check in and were allowed to set up. We stayed in spot #18 with our popup camper and had more than enough room. Each spot is provided a fire pit and picnic table. The bathrooms were clean upon arrival but became kinda gross by day 3. The shower is small but was sufficient, they become very busy in the evening time. The water pool is absolutely beautiful, in the evening we took our chairs down and relaxed in the water while our daughter made some friends and skipped rocks. The crowd of campers around us were quiet and friendly. All around great visit and will be back when it cools down a bit. Will rebook! 4 stars bc of the dirty bathroom. read more

Was not thoroughly impressed with this place. Stayed there a week and it was not like most camp grounds I'm use to. Very small, and they don't tell you much of what is offered when you arrive. For instance, had no idea they had cable hookups until another RV family brought it to our attention. They advertise WiFi which is hardly the case. We had a family emergency where a family member got very sick and had to be driven to the hospital, and to text them to see if they were OK requires you to walk down to the office or street for a second of a signal. They kept telling us it wasn't working. Ok well then don't advertise it. We had family we needed to contact and no signal to remotely do so. Use of electronics isn't a priority when camping but when you have a family member sick and they'll be stuck in the RV it's nice to take advantage of what your paying for. read more

We stayed here on a cabin for 3 nights and we liked it. Staffs are very accommodating and nice. We highly recommended this place.

Will never come back to this site. The staff is very rude. We never got a list of rules. You cannot have music playing. One staff member came and told us no music by the river, my sister apologized and she said we never got a list of rules. He was complete asshole about it very rude. Threaten to kick us out telling us that the Sheriffs was on the campgrounds and said we don't want any problems, he's the one creating problems, being rude to guest. My sister was not arguing with him nor being rude. He came off very rude and disrespectful. I recommend not coming to this campgrounds. We seen many other guest being treated badly as well. Sounds like Dave and his staff wrote these reviews. They are the total opposite of what they are being described as. They are racist and very rude but they do it in a cowardly way. My family and I had went up for the day and offered to pay for the spot next to my brothers campsite space 39 since we were sitting around it but the owner told us they did not want our money. They kept driving their golf cart near us making smart comments loud enough for us to hear them but we paid no attention if they had something to say I was more than willing to speak with them. But instead they dove back and fourth for about 2 hours, finally they came by around 8pm and said we had to leave, I was confused in what just had happened we are all sitting around the fire that we had just started with no music no one was drinking any alcohol kids were not running around or being loud. At this point it was sure they were racial profiling us, we all decided to pack up and leave including my brother that had paid for the weekend. On the way out we stopped by the office to notify them about the fire left at the camp site but the lady Carol was being very rude and couldn't give us a direct answer on why she was was kicking out other than we had to keep social distance because of COVID. I called BS on that because we all were sitting about 4-6' apart but there were other camp sites that had more people than that sitting close and were being loud. As we were leaving I heard that bald guy the owner Dave yelling out of his trailer at my wife with my kids in the car saying that it was people like us, we are the problem by then I knew it was a racial matter. When he seen me he walked to his door of his trailer as if he was provoking us to go over there because he had a weapon. We are not going to fall into their games of these ignorant people it's just sad that these things are still happening. So I would say stay away from this place and if you decide to go be smart and walk away because these people are up to no good and someone will end up getting hurt. This was an awesome experience! The staff was extremely friendly, skilled, and easy to connect with. They provided equipment for event and even took the time to help prepare our meals! This was a fun escape. I was able to catch up with old friends, meet new people, and create exciting memories that I will never forget. They deserve a 5-star rating. This is by far the worst place to camp especially in the summer. 1. There are little to no trees, barely any shade. So you will be hot and burn in the heat all day. The RV section had better shade than the actual campsite, which doesn't make any sense. 2. Because of the little shade they had, it was so hard to put up our tent because the ground was so hard and dry, it bent our stakes that we had to use rocks to hold down our tent. 3, The swim hole wasn't all that. We had to hike to a better place to swim in the river. 4. This place is way too overpriced for what it is. $40/night is not worth it. I would recommend driving another hour and a half to camp in the actual sequoia forest with shade!! We could not imagine staying one night in this place so we left the same day. And the old man that works the front is very rude, not friendly at all. We asked if it's possible to get a refund, and this guy started raising his voice because we asked for the owner's numbers. So please do your research before finding a camping site. Take bad reviews into consideration. read more

We brought our 26 foot trailer and stayed in a partial hookup spot. There is absolutely no wifi or cell service so take note. The front desk is very helpful and friendly. The private beach is small but a nice reprieve. The spots are all paved in gravel with dirt lots and fire rings behind them. They serve their purpose. RV's are very close together. I would be worried if we have two slides but we only had one. It is a quiet campground, with 60% permanent residents in RV's. There is no parking beside your trailer. There is a grocery store and gas station about two miles before you arrive at the site. The Sequoia Park entrance is maybe thee miles from here and the first sites are a 20 minute climb in elevation. This site is on the Kaweah River. There is a diner across the street and three restaurants between the site and the park entrance. We would stay again. read more

We stayed here in a 23ft motor home after reading the rave reviews. We would not stay here again. This place is totally run down and there is junk everywhere. The electric hookup was upside down with the wires exposed. The office and laundry room were filthy. We did have great wifi and cable TV. Pulled into The Hideaway on a recommendation from Holly at the Kaweah River Trading Company, and I am so glad I did! I met Carrie at the front and she gave me the warmest welcome. She gave me a tour of the property and I immediately knew I had to stay, I fell in love with the beach and the whole friendly welcome vibe of the place. I am tent camping and it's absolutely perfect for what I needed. It's also mid week, early June, so it's not as packed as it will be in the summer. But every campground in California thats worth staying at is packed and crowded in the summer! What do people expect? If you want tranquility and privacy you better trek it far into the park, or into BLM land. It is quiet and relaxed here right now and I keep extending my stay longer because I don't want to leave! Dave (owner) is so helpful and has been a lifesaver in heaping me navigate my way around this area. I went on a raft trip with Don today and it was crazy! The river is running pretty good right now and the rapids were awesome. You put in right at the private beach its awesome! You cannot come here and miss a white water adventure. The bathrooms are clean enough and there is hot water. There is a spicket at all the sites for your water and also a great big sink area to wash dishes. Fire pits with a grill too. Wifi works well up at the office. WHy do you need wifi at your damn campsite? Turn off your electronics and go look at the stars and listen to the river. If you aren't here to experience the beauty and wonder of this land, then this place probably isn't for you. Also, if you're the type of camp group who throws trash around and is loud and disrespectful- move on. Dave and Carol run a tight ship. read more

The Hideaway is absolutely the best place to stay if you're visiting the area. The RV's are all tucked away in beautifully shaded sites. I don't RV so I cant tell you much about what will fit or what you need for that type of stay. But there's always several RV's there. The tent sites can either be up on a grassy area or down by the waters edge. That's my choice. There's nothing quite like falling asleep to the sound of the Kaweah river at night. The tent and RV sites are totally pet friendly and the owners and hosts love dogs and their (responsible) owners. Knowledge: No one knows the lay of the land better than the folks at the Hideaway. Whether your looking for where to buy some firewood, where to find a good lunch, or where the best hiking and biking trails are, Dave is your man. Whitewater Rafting: I've been hosting my annual friends and family rafting adventure for over 10 years now. 7 of them have been with the crew at the Hideaway. They are the all-star team. There are no better guides in the country for this river and for the fun that we love too have. Every year I take a wide range of rafters, from "10+ year international vets" to "I don't swim to good and have never been in a boat", and year after year the crew at the Hideaway leaves everyone wet and smiling. I really can't say enough good things about this place. My people can't wait for the next few weeks to pass by so that get up there and have some real fun. If anyone has questions, fire away! One of my favorite campgrounds. I've been coming here for decades. You can walk to the river. It's usually not crowded if you avoid holidays. Great for young children. They have ice for sale and there's a General Store close by. Restrooms and showers are decent. Only drawback is there's not a lot of trees for shade, but there's some. read more

What a quiet and beautiful campground to stop at! We were driving to Sequoia National Park in an RV and stopped 5 miles outside the entrance at Three Rivers Hideaway. There was a slow flowing river that the kids played in, and the campground owner was so friendly and kind. We did a load of laundry and took a hot shower in their facility. Stayed in cabin #2, which was clean and cozy. It is set up with a tv, full bathroom, mini fridge, microwave, heat and a/c. Probably the best value outside of Sequoia Park! It really is just five minutes away from the Three Rivers entrance. I would have given this place five stars, but there was a dead cockroach in the bathroom when I arrived:(. Fortunately, I didn't see any more! The a/c, although necessary here in the summer, is a bit loud, so bring your earplugs for sleeping. Also something to be aware of is that it takes about 45 minutes to 1 hour to get from here to the main attractions (by car) in the park, and the drive is windy and uphill (although pretty). read more

Worked well for our needs. It's very close to the south entrance to Sequoia National Park. It is close to Kaweah Lake (you drive by it to get the the Hideway), and a peaceful section of the river runs behind the Hideaway with a nice little beach. Deonna was very helpful with last minute reservations in getting us with our 36' RV into a nice shady site. There was a group of 70 river rafters who were staying in tents down by the river and yet we felt quite safe, it was peaceful and serene. There were older folks, young families and everyone in between all enjoying ourselves in privacy. It's a busy place, but quiet and pleasant. There is a laundry with one washer and dryer that worked well for us. Deonna, the owners and other staff give you confidence that if there were any problems or issues--it would be respectfully taken care of. read more

A great quiet spot. It's super close to the entrance to the sequoias. It seemed like there were some permanent trailers but no biggie. It was very quiet and clean. The front office staff is very helpful and personable. Our baby was sick so we left 1 day early and they refunded us the one night. I thought that was very nice of them. My girlfriend and I came here on a spur-of-the-moment trip. We were just looking for an affordable campsite close to the entrance of the national park. No complaints about this spot! We were driving in late on a Friday night and had spoken with someone in the front office (I'm sorry I forgot your name! But very helpful woman). She informed us about getting in late, where to go once on site, billing, etc. They have ice and fire wood on site that you can purchase. Ice was $2/bag I believe and fire was $10/bundle. Campsites are kind of small and you will be close to other campers. They do have showers and bathrooms onsite as well as dumpsters for properly disposing of trash. During our stay everyone was respectful of boundaries and quiet hours, but I could see how one rowdy group could effect other campers. Overall great place, really enjoyed our stay! Worst place we have camped. More a mobile home park than a campground. Covered with junk. A staff that was never around, not to mention the disgustingly dirty office. We stayed in their cabin and it was filthy!! Dirt everywhere, my two yr old found a beer bottle under the fridge, and it was infested with bugs. All that I could live with except the beds were the most uncomfortable we have ever slept in. The lake access is totally bogus. There is one campsite that you can reach the lake. The rest are no where near the lake. Also, they told us it was 5 miles to the park entrance. Actually it was 20 minutes and there were closer campsites. Save yourself the hassle and stay somewhere else!!!! read more

Came here this last weekend over Labor Day. This would be a great place to go if it wasn't for the LOUD, inconsiderate neighbors by us. Apparently this is a large group that has been going the last 7 or so years and they think they don't have to be quiet after 10 pm so everyone else on the entire camp ground can sleep. We spoke to the owner and they did take care of it the next night but upon the the third and final night they must have figured, who cares! It's the last night we will party and play music again until 2-3 am. Top notch classy group they were. I won't be returning until they patrol the place every night for these kinds of people , not just the nights when there are complaints and if you do, make sure this group isn't booked! read more

I just got back and am so confused by the other reviews. This is a terrible campground. It's small and has mobile homes, to start (not long term RV renters, actual mobile homes). The RV sites are so close together you are basically at your fire pit with your neighbors, and they will be in your site for hook ups. Tent sites are in a huge dirt lot with few trees (some sites have zero trees, so you are literally camping in an empty parking space). I guess this is fine if you are RV dry camping. I was shocked (literally) when I pulled in. There are a total of 4 unisex toilets and two of them have showers in them. It's also a junk yard/storage facility, so rusted cars are in the dry/tent lot, plus other big vehicles not being used. It was so weird I thought I was in the twilight zone. The only reason I stayed was because I dragged others there and the swimming hole/ river was fun for the kids. I guess if you are in an RV and it's not busy it's fine, but if you like pretty, wooded campgrounds, this is not your place. read more

Let me say that the owners and staff are very friendly and helpful. The park itself has several very old, ratty looking single wide trailers. The hook-up site we were in was extremely close to the sites on either side of us; more so than most other parks we've stayed in. We (and several other folks) had water pressure problems. Little or no water the first day, then still problems after that. The owner was very helpful, but the problem persisted off and on. I felt that the site was very overpriced at $44 per night.
