Three Mile Point is a small, local municipal park located a few minutes outside of Cooperstown center. Locals enter for free. Otherwise, it is $5 per person. A small, laidback little beach for catching a swim in Lake Otsego. There are lifeguards on duty. One side is for swimming- it is roped off- not too large but enough-and it has depth enough for diving off of dock. The other side is for fishing. There are some picnic tables, benches, and a few Adirondack chairs on the swim side. Bring a blanket or folding chairs for your hang. So pretty and peaceful. There is a pavilion on the fishing side with several picnic tables. There is a changing cabana with multiple stalls right off the beach. And, there are restrooms right above beach. Parking lot is not vast- maybe fits around 20 cars. But, that's about as busy as it gets. If it's a hot day and you're up for a dip or just enjoy the beauty of the gorgeous lake and you're visiting Cooperstown area, check it out. read more
