Came out from Sherburne to play a round with my brother and his 14-year old son on a lovely Friday morning. The proprietress was very helpful in getting us outfitted and informed. We appeared to be the first customers of the day at 8:30. We decided to rent pull carts even though we were warned that the course is hilly...and it is. At the same time, some of the cart paths are so steep and/or uneven that I'm not sure that a power cart would have been preferable. The all around cost was very reasonable, with a set of halfway decent rental clubs only setting us back $5. Greens fees with a pull cart were $20/person. The course was well mown but pretty soppy in places due to the recent rain storms. Tee boxes were fairly level and not too beat up, while the greens were in great condition. They don't cut the fairways very low, nor do they have much in the way of penalty rough or sand. The hard parts center around blind approaches, tight fairway on the back 9, and surprisingly fast greens. I would have given them a 4 rating if the layout wasn't so funky in places.
