Pecan lodge is really one of the best bbq places in Dallas…read more If you're not sure what to get here and want a little bit of everything, I would recommend getting the trough (if you have enough people). To that one guy in the reviews who said that "the trough" will require at least 4 grown men, he was correct. I think this is a good amount for 4 men (without feeling absolutely disgusted from all this fatty deliciousness). The trough comes with 1 pound of brisket (5ish), 1 pound of beef ribs, 1 pound of pork ribs (5ish), 1/2 pound of pulled pork, 2 hand made sausage links, and 2 sides along with raw onions and pickles. The brisket is so good. Melt in your mouth. Make sure you get to try some of the leaner and fatty portions of it. The beef ribs are also perfect. It was Smokey, fatty, and fall off the bone just by touching it. I also very much enjoyed the sausages. The jalapeño cheddar and the maverick sausage (hatch chilis, cilantro, and queso Oxana, amazing) were so good. The Mac and cheese and collared greens were very good. Did not get the try the other sides. The bbq sauce was also very tangy and the brisket sauce? (I think?) is also a little acidic and a perfect pairing. There is an indoors eating area (AC blasting), but also an outside area with benches. The service is great and fast

Ordered Turkey, Jalapeño Cheddar Sausage and Mac and Cheese on the 2 meat combo plate. First off, that was $27 which I thought was rather high but with the hype I thought it might be worth it. The turkey was tender and juicy and rather flavorful, except for the end piece of turkey breast (I assume) with the skin side which was extremely tough. The jalapeño cheddar sausage was okay, but it didn't really retain either the jalapeño, cheddar, or the smoky taste which I thought was disappointing. The Mac and Cheese had bacon bits on it which were nice and crispy but the Mac and Cheese wasn't very rich or complex flavor wise, which I found slightly underwhelming. The sauce was super runny and while it had flavor, I never think having to put sauce on stuff to give it flavor is the answer. All that being said, for $27 I wasn't going to leave anything on the plate. The service I thought was rather hands off and I'm surprised nobody came and checked on us although that may be just how things are. The ambiance was cool with old license plates and pictures along with some cool western themed things up on the walls to make it seem warm and homey. All in all, I was left with the feeling that there should've been more and I was kinda disappointed after all the hype I've seen and all the gravitas that the name Pecan Lodge carries with it. I'd say probably a 6.5-7/10 so that lands me at 3 stars because it really didn't feel 4 star worthy.

After eating the fries I took two bites and I was full. It's a lot of food for a great price. Definitely my go to when I don't want to leave the office.

Allows for a lot of options to sit and walk around at. The staff is friendly and creates their dishes with care. There can be a bit of a wait especially when its busy but its expected under the circumstances with popularity and limited staff. The Banh Mi and rice bowl with ginger soy tofu is DELICIOUS. Be sure to add the extra sauce toppings available below the pickup window. The portions are filling too. The prices are a little on the high side but each time I have been here, I have felt it was worth the spend. They range about 9-10 dollars a dish. For parking, there are parking meters near and around Klyde Warren Park and also what I think is the most convenient if you intend on spending a good amount of time in the area, is to park at the Dallas Art Museum parking garage. It is $15 for all day parking but spits you out right across the street from the food truck row. Try this one out for sure!

When the Mosaic African Ancestry Network was putting on our Black History Month Happy Hour and Panel event, we had to have them cater. They made our lives to much easier. Sparkle was able to coordinate our options to accommodate our budget and the number of people we were going to have. Chef G sent over the menu choices and it was hard not to choose them all. They did offer to do a tasting so we could choose the best apps for our event. Everything was wonderful! Some how we were able to narrow it down to 4 options. Fried Collard Green Egg Rolls - These were life changing! I never would have thought to put collard greens and smoked turkey in an egg roll.It is the best combination ever. Chef G is changing the game with this one Mini Brisket Stuffed Cornbread Cups - This sweet cornbread with the tender brisket in bbq sauce as a cute little sandwich. I could have eaten 5 or 6 of these but I was able to contain myself to one Mini Chicken and Cornbread Waffles - They even had little cups of syrup to serve with them. Definitely a must have at any event. Mac & Cheese Tart - This was a great vegetarian option for the event. Also the Mosaic engagement leader loved it so much at the tasting she would have hunted me down if we didn't order them. The day of the event Chef G and Sparkle were fabulous. They made everything fresh in the truck and refilled items as needed. We didn't have to stress about anything. People were raving days after the event. We definitely will be using them again.
