On our last few visits to Boston, we stayed in the Seaport area. I know a lot of locals are down on…read morethe Seaport as a gentrified and expensive borefest, but as a tourist it's not half bad. The only downside is it's pretty hard to find a place to buy groceries. Since we didn't want to eat out every night we decided to walk over to this Trader Joe's to get some food. Is a pretty typical Trader Joe's, but it's very small, even smaller than the one we have back home in Boca, which is one of the smallest ones I've ever seen. But we found everything we needed and everything was pretty good quality in particular the fresh produce. Overall if you're in the Seaport this place is a must if you don't want to spend a fortune on food. I'd give it four stars, definitely recommended and possibly the only place to go grocery shopping in the immediate area.

But get here early because the best selection goes quickly. Their chili lime twists and queso dip are hits with the kids. We're also hooked on their dark chocolate peanut cups. We're talking real peanut butter with real good chocolate. The staff her are always cheerful and helpful. Even when the lines are long I get through in a jiffy. If I were to describe the vibe? It's just a happy place to shop and spend my money.

Been coming here for years, as everyone else has pointed out, it's conveniently located in DTX. When you walk in, you can buy prepared foods and sit down in a cafe, the main grocery store is in the basement. They have an excellent cheese section, snack section - so many different chips and crackers to choose from, and a fairly decent boxed cake section. They also have a lot of frozen items and other dairy products. I have purchased produce here but not very often. It wouldn't be my first choice - they don't have too great of a selection and it seems more expensive than WFs. They have a decent sized alcohol section but it's blocked off and you have to purchase alcohol in that section - no biggie tho. They have a variety of local beer and cider, which is nice. Near the checkout, they have the prepared foods, bakery, and meat counters. The items from the bakery case look decent but I have not tried them. The checkout line can be long sometimes but usually goes pretty fast. All in all, this a convenient location with lots of items to choose from. I'll def be back!

When you walk in, you take the escalator downstairs and grocery store is much larger than you would expect. There are full out bakery, deli, dairy, grains, etc sections and an enormous wine/beer/liquor selection as well (this opens after 10am, I think). I really appreciate this Star Market being here because I can quickly pickup breakfast items that I keep at work or dessert to take home. It's nice not to have to jump in my car after I get home and drive out of my way to pick up a quick item or two. The checkout experience is also good - there are a lot of self check-out stations so no waiting in line. Overall, clean and very easy to pop in and out.

Then I noticed there was a downstairs area which was filled with even more options. As a non-local I love going to grocery stores in different cities to see all the local options available. There is a huge beer and liquor selection available. I was checking out all the local New England beers. If I had more time here I would have loved to try them. I even found the infamous Dunkin Spiked drinks here. That is how you know you are in Boston. I only wish this store was closer to where I stayed in Cambridge. It is much larger and had more options that the one in Cambridge.

We were surprised to see they also made sandwiches. It's a small store, but the variety of products to take home is really good. Really nice staff. We walked in at the right time, because as we were leaving, a swarm of people walked in. It's very popular. The square sour dough is great! The Italiano is right up there as a must-have sandwich. We ordered two sandwiches exactly how they prepare without substitutions. The name of the second sandwich is escaping me. Another fantastic sandwich. And, cheap for what they give you! We were going to find a restaurant for lunch and We brought the sandwiches back to our hotel to have for dinner later and breakfast the next morning. Yeah, only a couple bites made it to the next morning. Soooooo good! They sell the best balsamic I have ever had. I can't wait to go back next time I'm in Boston. BTW, they gave us a business card, because they ship, too. People have them ship the balsamic all the time.
