From the outside this dated building does not promise much and this is reflected inside where the décor is grubby, the service is basic and the "chuck it on a plate" food is completely uninspired. It's the sort of place you expect cheap and cheerful pub grub; sadly the food is averagely priced but in no way cheerful. The menu is stale and predictable and it comes out super quick, not because there are a barrage of skilled chefs in the kitchen, but because it is 101 chuck it in the deep fat fryer sort of fayre that requires no skill.
The steaks are lousy quality and the scampi would put Iceland to shame - basically dry pebbles of over cooked breadcrumbs with something grey in the middle. The chips were okay, the condiments were missing, the cutlery was dirty and the indigestion afterword was unbearable.
The most memorable thing about The three Brewers was the feeling we had time warped into a poorly run Bernie sporting a suspiciously stained carpet. The place could be a real goldmine and a great eatery if only the Brewery bothered to have some pride in the premises. read more
