My only complaint would be that my loved one died on a Saturday morning. I tried to contact them on Sunday during business hours and spoke with someone who said a funeral director would call me back, but no one did. However, once I called on Monday and spoke directly with a funeral director, everything proceeded smoothly from there. All the paperwork is done on-line. Their prices are good, a big part of this is likely because the office on Millikan (in the City Hall Building in the Beaverton Round) is apparently just a small office with low overhead. The cremation is done through Riverview Abbey. It was done quickly and I was able to pick them up at the Millikan office (you can also pick up at Riverview Abbey). They can mail them to you as well. Obtaining death certificates through them was also easy, as was getting an obituary posted to their website. They are very professional, responsive, and happy to help.

Little did I know my mom would be passing in May after her battle with cancer. Little did I know we would be filling this hole in the earth so soon. But I have been up to this hill by the stone altar, for the Memorial Day masses, with the St. Pius choir, many times in my youth. To this day, it always brings me so much peace to be here. The layout is very pleasing to the eyes. The grounds are always pretty well maintained despite the archaic sprinkler system. I can tell the groundskeepers do the best they can with the limited staffing. On the day I transported my mom's ashes to the site, we were greeted by the deacon and a staff member. There was a small stand for her remains. They said some prayers over her. The deacon had to leave for the actual burial process because he was accidentally overbooked. The groundskeeper put mom in another box, placed the urn inside, and superglued the box shut. He placed it gently in the ground. Each member of the family got to throw in some flowers and dirt. And when the hole was filled, that was it. The headstone took about 6 months to complete and place. It was lovely and well etched. Mom's photo is very vibrant and the border is nice and shiny. They forgot to put in the flower vase in the front. But with a quick phone call, the head groundskeeper showed up to place it a few minutes later. This is a really sacred place for me. I enjoy spending time with my mom here a lot. The way the property cascades and embodies your car as you drive by is very special. I am looking into finding a spot here myself so I can just be prepared for my family in case my time comes early. Thank you Mt. Cavalry for honoring those who passed before us.

We went to visit the older part of the cemetery, and it looked taken care of. We didn't have any issue with anyone asking why we were there either. I would go back. Not forever though

We often don't think about all of the meticulous details required to organize funerals and memorial services, but these folks handle everything with precision and grace. The facility is tucked away in a hidden corner of Portland on Taylor's Ferry Road, and rises out of the forrested hillside suddenly - making it very easy to miss! The building boasts a large parking lot that covers two levels, and there are accessibility features throughout the property for those in need of them. Though the mausoleaum is an expansive space filled with light, it feels quiet and intimate. I'm very impressed that a facility dating back to 1916 is able to sparkle and shine like it was built yesterday. I very much appreciate the management and staff's dedication to maintaining this important place that is special to so many families.
