Very decent family run business. I had to ask for a receipt since papers were sent back with the check. But it wasn't but a few days and the receipt was in the mailbox. It asks to add "value" in this area of recommendation.. I think it is a very fair value and it seemed that once I did pay after asking all the questions that I could, it took a big weight off my shoulders knowing that everything was finally taken care of. I only wished that I would have done this 5 to 10 years ago when it probably was less expensive. But all in all compared to any other funeral expense, this was the best that I could find. I would have given this a five star but it seemed that I had to ask question by question what the billing process was and it took several calls to finally finalize everything with me being at the steering wheel. It was some time ago and just for some reason there was one guy who didn't help me out as much as another and then I finally found a woman secretary who helped put me to the right person again and then I was able to work everything out. I guess some people are turned off by a big hustle type approach and they definitely are not that. They're not calling you or bothering you. So for some people that will be good read more

I have been to Springer and Son for the service of my son's ex father in law, as well as the passing of his best friend. Their facility is very nice, and hands down the staff is amazing. I recently lost my 15 year old pitbull, Sadie Mae and I knew they cremated pets. I contacted them, they took all the needed info over the phone. When I arrived, they gently took her from the car, as the in home vet had helped place her in the vehicle. You could tell they care about the people they serve even if it's an animal and not a human. The cost was extremely fair and less than if I had let the in home vet take her, or if I had taken her to the vet to handle cremation. When I came to retrieve her cremains, they were returned in a box with a pretty sticker with a rainbow and my pups name. They did a nose and paw print for me. Took my 11year old pet to be cremated. Clark greeted me but didn't know any prices for the urns I was looking at. He had to keep going back and forth making me wait and wait each time. I finally asked him if he could please get a price list or send someone else out. It seemed so unorganized. I picked out a cedar box and handed my precious baby over to Clark. I had wrapped her in the sheet she always laid on folded at the end of the bed and told Clark TWICE that I wanted to get my sheet back. It was special to me. Wheni came back to pick up my baby's ashes I was told the sheet was cremated along with her body. I couldn't believe it I was so upset and it added to what was already such a difficult time! I spoke with Kyke who said he would talk to the owners. Kyle called me a couple days later only to tell me they were sorry, that's it... no offer of any kind. It would've been a kind gesture to at least waive the payment of the box the ashes were put in but nope, nothing. Just an I'm sorry. If I could give this establishment 100 stars, I would. I have, unfortunately, had to bring both of my fur babies to them. After 16 and 14 years with them, the grief is overwhelming. From the very first call, Springer & Son staff is so understanding, and compassionate. Both times, I felt like I was working with my own family while discussing my final resting options for my babies. They do special things, like paw and nose prints, as well as taking a swatch of fur, as keepsakes. If you have something special you'd like cremated with them, you can include it, like a soft blanket or shirt of yours, a favorite toy, etc. This is so meaningful. They will also come to your home to pick up your loved one if you are unable to transport. You can bring an urn or other container to place the ashes in, or they will give them back in a container. The fees are unexpectedly reasonable. The entire experience is awful, and they know this. They do everything humanly possible to ease your stress and worry, so that you can grieve knowing that your little love is in the most caring hands. While I hope to not have much more to offer, this family has my loyalty and business forever. I'm so grateful to them, and they have my highest recommendation. read more

My parents, having set things up with Spinger & Son years earlier, come time, had their every prearranged detail honored. While their wishes were prearranged, there were still details that were new to me, and the staff patiently walked me through those details. Very personable. Very professional. Very respectful. When one of our feline friends died, and we needed a cremation service, Springer and Son was incredibly compassionate, kind, and provided superior service. They were respectful when I brought Bartholomew in, made sure they had the correct spelling, explained everything to me--and returned our friend that same afternoon. When they called, the staff person said that "Bartholomew is ready to come home," which I thought was a lovely way to put it. I was a distraught mess.... hardly able to make decisions.. hardly able to function. The owners made me so comfortable and were amazing helping me through the process. If you are in need of this type of service, I want to say I am sorry for your loss. I unexpectedly lost my brother a couple weeks ago. This is the first time I've had to make arrangements and figure out how to get him home since I live out of state. I sent Springer & Son Aloha Funeral Home a message on a Sunday. They promptly responded answering my questions as well as giving me additional information about the process and what I may need to do afterwards. That was really nice of them and it showed me that they take pride in what they do. Dani has been extremely professional, helpful and sympathetic throughout this difficult process. She explained the whole process, answered all of my questions, let me know the next steps as well as which agencies may require original death certificates. This review is coming a little late, but I still wanted to write it. My dad passed away in March 2015 and Springer & Son handled his final arrangements. Dad wanted to be cremated and they took care of that. They were extremely kind to me and passed me the Kleenex when I couldn't stop crying. Never once did they attempt to "upsell" me on any of their products or services. I felt cared for and respected. Their support was very important to me during the most challenging period of my life. These are the best people ever. They are very helpful and kind- willing to work with prices and they do pet cremations. My cat died (RIP Sugar) and all of the other funeral homes I called said that they basically did a "mass cremation" for pets and then you get a portion of the ashes. Springer stated that they didn't do that, they cremated Sug ALONE and I got HER ashes, no on else's. Many thanks to S&S. I realize that it's a bit weird to write a review of a funeral home... they're kind of creepy/morbid/uncomfortable and all of that. However, if you find yourself in the unfortunate, but it-will-happen-to-you-someday place of looking for a place that will take care of your loved one, without the Adams Family feel, this is a great place to check out. I realized while working through the details of my grandmother's wishes and planning her service that working at a funeral home must be a bit like being a hairdresser. You often feel like a therapist and need to know when to give a gentle suggestion and when to just keep your mouth closed. Our family worked with Graham, who was a very calm (but not cold) guy who seemed to have the "know-when-to-hold-'em-know-when-to-fold-'em" down perfectly. Let me tell you, working with my family on a good day is a challenge that I am rarely up for. Working with my family on a difficult day when everyone has their emotions wound tight and everyone is interpreting Grandma's wishes differently is a task that I nearly walked away from several times. Graham hung in there, (at one point asking if he should step out to let the family duel it out in private) through it all. The day my grandma passed away was a difficult day for my family, especially my grandpa. Graham came and treated us all so gently and treated my grandma with such respect, it truly touched my heart. My grandfather was blessed by how well my grandma was treated. The day of the service, he was there early so that I could get things set up, he saved the day when one of our music cd's would not play by buring the songs to a disk for me, and he even went the extra extra mile of delivering some of the plants and flowers to my Grandpa's house after the service so that we didn't have to worry about doing it. This whole thing has led me to a few conclusions, 1. Write out a detailed report of what you want happening to your body & at your service now, before you kick it. Your family (at least the sane ones) will thank you, and 2. Springer & Son will take good care of you once you've passed and they'll try to manage your crazy family, best they can. read more

I have used their pet crematory service twice this year, we lost our beloved cat in April and our family dog this week. Each time they were excellent to work with, very helpful and compassionate. The loss of any loved one or pet is a difficult time and they treat both with respect. When looking for options I found them to be the most cost effective as well. Most "pet only" places charge an outrageous amount and then tack on an extra fee for every little thing. Not a service I want to use in the future for obvious reasons but when that time comes be it a loved one or a loved pet they will be my first choice. read more

We used their pet services when our beloved dog Indy passed on Friday, March 24th 2017. They were able to take care of us the next day and were so nice and easy to work with. They are compassionate and very patient with us. We were allowed to take as much time as we needed at each stage of the process. We never felt rushed or pressured to do or buy anything. Above and beyond great customer service. They even answer the phone and are able to set up appointments after normal hours. To be able to have everything taken care of even after 6:30pm, or later I forget, and have everything set up so we didn't need to worry at least allowed us to deal with our loss and grief without worrying about the details. read more

My wife died suddenly in February, 2014. We had planned to use Springer and Son, but had made no plans with them. John was tremendous to work with. We sat down one time with him and were able to make all the arrangements, including burial at Willamette National Cemetery. He was able to have her obituary published in two out of town papers for us. He provided a checklist of things we needed to do as well as Social Security and Veterans information. This information was extremely helpful to us as we struggled with our loss. I would make two suggestions. First, don't wait like we did to make your arrangements. I recently had the sooner-than-expected experience of having a loved one pass and I truly dreaded what would come next - especially where surviving family members were concerned. I was truly blessed (not to mention relieved) when the owner himself of Springer and Son PERSONALLY came (along with another employee) to take care of our loved one. That night, and every day afterward, they were so kind, caring and gentle in dealing with family present; listening to stories and allowing us to have private moments with our loved one before they continued with their duties. They told us exactly what was going to happen, in sequence order, and provided us with information immediately on the services they could provide us. They were even willing to take our loved one elsewhere if that was what we desired - that alone speaks volumes regarding their courtesy, consideration and character as well as how they treat those who are experiencing a difficult (not to mention emotional) time. I had the opportunity to work with John, Joe and Kerry - I cannot sing their praises enough! They listened to what we wanted and went the extra mile to make arrangements for and receive items we wanted from companies they hadn't dealt with prior. We had wanted a specialty casket and John not only contacted this vendor but made certain it was perfect - exactly what we had asked for. John even coordinated everything with the cemetery so that we didn't have to. When a flower arrangement from family members was prepared wrong from a florist and those family members were upset, John called another florist to ensure a new (and this time correct) arrangement was delivered in plenty of time for the service. Joe went above and beyond in ensuring that a treasured family picture would work on our 'program' cover without having to remove it from its frame, as well as using the specialty paper we wanted and preparing a combination of prayer cards - all with EXACTLY what we wanted them to say. He contacted the pastor to obtain the order of service so that we didn't have to, sent me 'proofs' for approval and had everything ready and waiting BEFORE the morning of our service. One the day of the service, all three (and another personnel too) were present to ensure that everything went smoothly. They made certain we had plenty of seats available, that people had programs, provided coffee, etc. to those reminiscing after the service and never once made anyone feel like our loss (or service) was anything less than dealing with a loved one of their own. They even went ahead of the funeral procession to the cemetery so that they could ensure everything was perfect there - and to have our flowers waiting when we arrived for the cemetery part of the service. We also requested that a small token of our appreciation was provided to the additional personnel assisting us that day and they took care of it - relieving us of a task that could so easily be forgotten on such a difficult day. I was very concerned that I would not 'do right by' or honor my loved one in their passing as it had only been cursorily addressed. Everyone at Springer and Son put my concerns to rest and made possible everything I had hoped for in honoring the life of my loved one. While no one enjoys the prospect of losing someone near and dear; Springer and Son turned what could have been a disaster (not to mention nightmare) with regard to other family members and their wishes into a cohesive, loving tribute to our dearly departed. While I never would wish the experience of losing someone near and dear on anyone, it is unfortunately an inevitable fact of life - we will all pass, the question is just when. When that time comes, I cannot think of anyone better equipped to help you navigate those waters than everyone at Springer and Son. read more

My family has used Springer and Son 3 times now in the past couple of years. Each time we have experienced exceptional service during difficult times. They are very professional and compassionate. They are very upfront with their prices - they're printed right on their website and are super competitive. It's bad enough to be grieving but Springer and Son makes it easier because they can handle all the details without feeling like you're being ripped off. I was even ready to order a Costco casket and things from multiple places but no need. Springer was no more expensive and much easier to let them handle it all. Quite a contrast from Findley Sunset Hills - which was horrible. We switched over to Springer and Son. We told them about our bad and pricey experience with Findley. They had every opportunity to diss them but they didn't. They just calmly took care of our needs - very professional. My Mom has her pre-needs ready to go here and I will call on them again when the unfortunate time comes. read more
