My daughter reserved this park for my husband's repast on June 8, 2024. Two of her friends helped her to set up the tables and made sure an assortment of freshly made food was available for enjoyment. As many times my late husband has driven on Davis Street to head into San Leandro, I never noticed this park. The area where we were at had several picnic tables, and the traffic on Davis Street wasn't that bad. Parking lot was on the premises. Since my family, relatives and friends were just in the area next to the parking lot, I did not walk around to see the playground and other amenities at this park. The park is nice and clean, compared to a few particular parks in a city north of San Leandro. It's a great place for picnics, birthday parties and family outings on the weekends. read more

Decent park with restrooms. I was here checking out the train museum next door, which shares the parking lot. There's lots of spaces with many of them under big shade trees. There's also a nice kids play structure. The field looks in pretty good shape and there are bathrooms close by, but the bathrooms were smelly. read more

Quality/Quantity - Small local park, overall good. Grills, suggested to be deep cleaned before using, at minimum burn off all the previous "stuff." Need coal "containers" for safety. Some grills are adjustable, can be lowered or raised and some are at fixed heights. Grassy areas are very green and tall. Atmosphere - San Leandro's oldest park, renovated in 1992. Baseball or softball field and a skateboard park. Small local park. Small play structure for kids. Approximately 6 picnic tables and grills, reservable. Open 7 days a week from 8am to 7pm. The bathrooms are near the home plate of the baseball field and they were okay, not good or bad. Usable. Service - No problems for reserving the picnic tables & grills. 5 stars, the "park ranger" came at the beginning and end of the event to empty trash cans and make sure everything was okay. Decent sized park, has a baseball field, playground, restrooms, and a skating area. I'm not sure if that's a skate park, but I do see people skating there. The parking lot is a decent sized for a park, but it seems like a lot of people come here to hang out in their cars often, so sometimes parking can be a challenge. Located right on the corner of Orchard and Davis, you can tell lots of people who live nearby frequent this park a lot. Given the location and the fact there's always a fair amount of people here, the park is always very clean!! read more

Thrasher Park looks small on a drive by. the baseball park is larger by comparison. noticed benches, 1 grill, lawn, children's play area. (pics don't show how small Thrasher is). nice place to rest and relax. unsure if family outing is beneficial or not. parking not possible on Davis. side streets a maybe. read more

This was a great park. It is fairly new, and a local that I was talking to while I was there said it has been there about a year. I noticed the pictures on yelp that are older have a different playground. This is very new, very clean, and very well-kept up. Although it is small, it packs a lot of stuff in for an older kid. It has two sets of monkey bars, other things to climb, a slide, and for the parents with a younger child, two baby swings. For a kid who is probably between the ages of five and 10, you can do an obstacle course going around the whole thing. My 5 1/2-year-old son had a great time, loved the monkey bars and obstacle course set up. We spent about an hour there. I see some other reviewer's talking about a skate park, but I did not see a skate park. There was a large baseball field, and a building with bathrooms in it. The women's restroom was clean and unlocked, though there were no soap or paper towels, just a sink with water. Bring your hand sanitizer! The playground area has that cushy rubber surface. It has a fence around the park facing the parking lot, but it is not completely enclosed. The benches for parents are on the other side so you can keep an eye on your kid pretty easily. We also saw a nice grassy area and picnic tables but did not use them. Overall we spent about an hour at this playground and we were very happy with it. My son says: The park was nice, I liked it. In the different pictures it looked different, but it had monkey bars. It was good because it actually had one of the things that you could climb down it but it had somewhere that you could relax on it. it looks different now. read more

This review pertains to the skatepark portion of the park and nothing else. As far as skateparks go, this place is a pile of garbage. In addition to great features like deep cracks at the bottom of the quarter pipes and inclines (honestly, who on earth designed this?), the ground is so rough and shitty that it is basically unskateable. I bought a board from Orbit before coming over (awesome shop btw) and I asked the kid working what he thought about he park and his response was, "Ummm, the ground is pretty rough.." I didn't understand until I went, but now I do. This place sucks so don't waste your time. read more

A small park located in San Leandro right off of Davis street, this place is fun for those last minute get-togethers. With a softball/baseball diamond, a couple of tables with BBQ grills, and a skate park, there is something for everyone here. Make no mistake though, that list of amenities can deceive you. When I said this place is small, it truly is small. If there is a party already there when you get to setup, you'll definitely need to find some place else to have your shindig. If you want to lock it down, call the city of San Leandro and you can reserve the tables and the field. Tip: For those nostalgic night games, this baseball field is equipped with stadium lights. When you reserve the field through the city, ask for the lights as well (there is an extra fee) and have a game underneath the stars. read more

My daughter and I have enjoyed picnic lunches here a few times. The new play structure is new and clean, free of the usual tags found in local playgrounds. It is small so there isn't much to entertain an 8-year-old. Each time we have visited, there has been some minor drama: a lover's spat and what appear to be various drug deals near the bathrooms and in the parking lot. No one has ever bothered us. It is a shame that the skate park isn't used at all. read more

We held our little reunion picnic here with approx 40-50 attendees. I decorated the bushes with Chinese umbrellas and strung lanterns on the tree. The park ranger was very nice and accommodating. There was also a garbage picker who made 2-3 rounds throughout the afternoon to empty the garbage cans. Initially, I was afraid the park would be too tiny, but it was just right. The restrooms are located at the head of the baseball field, so cross the long strip of grass to locate it. The strip of grass (perpendicular to the picnic tables) is ideal for 3-legged races, tug-a -war, passing footballs/soccer balls, etc. read more

We've been taking our dogs to this park for years now (1/2 mile away) Just need to constantly be on the look-out for rib and chicken bones that people are either too stupid or too lazy to git into a trash can. The city cleans up the area every morning. Other than the usual hoodlums than hang and the occasional (and obvious) drug deals going down, it's a nice place read more
