As many times my late husband has driven on Davis Street to head into San Leandro, I never noticed this park. The area where we were at had several picnic tables, and the traffic on Davis Street wasn't that bad. Parking lot was on the premises. Since my family, relatives and friends were just in the area next to the parking lot, I did not walk around to see the playground and other amenities at this park. The park is nice and clean, compared to a few particular parks in a city north of San Leandro. It's a great place for picnics, birthday parties and family outings on the weekends.

Service - No problems for reserving the picnic tables & grills. 5 stars, the "park ranger" came at the beginning and end of the event to empty trash cans and make sure everything was okay. If you are really into skating transitions, this is not the park for you as this is really geared towards street skaters. On the day I came through, the kids were pretty obnoxious so I would be hesitant to bring kids to the park that's connected to the skatepark. Regardless of that however, they were really good at skateboarding and it was fun to watch them shred while I was catching my breath in between runs. It was interesting that they had coping on the ledges that went straight into the corners of the park yet opted to leave other more accessible ledges without coping, but this is a minor complaint. I would come back here again, but I would like to practice a bit beforehand as the skill level required to really kill it here is a little higher than what I currently possess!

You probably lost all your money there or just got kicked out - they don't tolerate any nonsense whatsoever - oh well you learned your lesson and good thing you have your skateboard in the back trunk. The trash was only up front and the toilet was a space age looking thing. Looked like a flying saucer. How cool is that? They call them the Portland Loo. This little park is as good as it gets. Incredible design - somebody did a great job squeezing it in. Half of it opens up to a parking lot so there isn't this claustrophobia inducing feeling when your there. Some good lighting even at night - which is great as the sun sets early now. Grab your skateboard and come here - you'll be as happy as my cat with his beach side crunch party mix treats.

The last time I took the kids it looked like so much fun I borrowed my kids tiny board and rode in a skatepark for the first time in 25 years! The park is a perfect mix for beginners and pros, with easy roll ins and gentle humps all the way to bowls, stairs, and gaps. We've been to some other skateparks that have steeper ramps and feel much more closed in, we end up coming back to this one because it's more spacious with plenty of room for everyone. The snake run is really fun for beginners and you can learn to roll in here and ride some banks. The negatives of this skatepark are sometimes people that live in their cars will park out here, there used to be a lady with a full on garden outside of her car and sometimes people will hang out in the grass nearby and smoke weed. Haven't seen it in awhile but we started coming early morning. The closest bathrooms are at the park so a pretty far walk if you need to use them. There is also no shade don't gets hot during summer.

The two lots are a bit on the small side so I imagine they would have been full on a warmer and sunnier day. There is room for activities like pickleball, soccer, running, cornhole, ping pong, and basketball, as well as open space for rollerblading, scootering, etc. While there was no playground for my toddler, he would have had a ball just riding on his scooter or bike on the smooth pavement. One suggestion I have is to add some wood or some kind of barrier to the bottom of the pickleball fence. We had several balls roll under the fence and into the parking lot next door, we noticed that some patrons put tape or other barriers at the bottom of the fence to keep this from happening. Otherwise, we had a great time!

On the technical side, it has rails, two bowls, flat bars, some manual pads, banks, stairs, bump over bar, and volcanoes. The area is very clean, and, depending upon when you come, it's pretty vacant. During my visits, I noticed a cadre of boomers with Bluetooth speakers in the bowls; I thought this was funny because, hey I'm getting old. However, these guys seemed like fixtures--they came prepared with 80s metal playlists, yeti water bottles, and lots of wipe-outs. I'm talking epic falls. The kind of falls and wipe-outs that may be worthy of fail-videos, you know the ones I'm talking about. I realize, this is "dark side" amusing, but it made for a festive atmosphere, given that skateparks are usually infested with younger lads who look like they are truant. If you skate, ride scooters or bikes, this is definite visit on the East Bay and beats going further north or into the city.
