Easily the best pizza I've had in BC! My friends and I were looking for a quick bite before a night out and decided to check this place out from its Yelp reviews. We've been back 3 times in time 2 days now. Their selection is huge and they have lots of both veggie and meaty standard options and then a daily feature - poutine pizza on our first visit - delicious! Tasted so much like poutine which weirded me out in the best way possible! They are generous with the cheese, sauce and main ingredients which is always nice but the real winner here for me is the crust! Oh the crust. The crust is seasoned and twisted! The attention to detail is wild! I think the poutine crust was garlicy and the pepperoni and olive was cinnamon seasoned. It added just the right surprise signature flavour pop at the end that is unique to this place at least in my experience. Will definitely be stopping by whenever I'm in Nelson again. Till then, I'll be praying they open one in Vancouver! read more

This is by far my favourite pizza place in Nelson. Fresh and higher quality ingredients and amazing crust go a long way in making there pizza, not to mention the calzones, delicious. They sell the pizza and calzones individually and by the slice as well as take out and delivery which in my experience is always fast and fresh although not quite as good as the pizza by the slice for some odd reason. Pro tip: if you order a whole pizza ask them to cook it a bit longer than they usually would as the whole pizzas always seem to be undercooked and sometimes have slightly too much sauce (in my opinion) They only lost a star for trying to deliver my pizza to the wrong place a humorous amount of times even after specifically asking them several times to tell the driver which place is mine...not a huge deal though, the pizza still made it to me and was always tasty. read more

Fantastic slices and calzones... But don't order a whole pizza! I've eaten here a half dozen times now, and here's the thing - Thor's in-house slices are amazing. The calzones are to die for. You see them in the window, you try one, and you're hooked. But for some reason, when you order a whole pizza to go, the quality is not the same and you're left disappointed. For starters, the crusts are different (slices have a thick, knotted crust - while whole pizzas to go have a non-existent crust). Perhaps more worrisome however, is that the whole pizzas to go always seem to be undercooked. This has been an issue now on numerous occasions, so I'm only able to give Thor's 3-stars. Probably among the top pizzas I've ever had, we tried the mercury which was good but didn't live upto the spicy expectation and the heremis which was a delectable combination of chicken, mushrooms and garlic with a terrific white sauce. Good crust with a nice texture and just the right thickness plus the toppings go right to the edge and you can tell they use quality ingredients. Great atmosphere and so busy, we'd come back to Nelson just to go here again but you can tell the locals love it. read more

Would still get 5 stars, but knocked down to 4 for having just watched a teenaged customer totally get chastised by the staff for not answering loud enough when his order was ready and they called out his name. (Everyone has bad days and this was nearing the end of a rush so take it in context, but really?) Pepperoni pizza review, one bite 1-10 rating. It's alright pizza, people probably going to say I'm crazy but I gave It a 6.3.... And that's what it is, mainly because the crust is too bread like, and too much pepperoni couldn't taste the sauce. But whatever. Great paninis for sure, but its the pizza that has me coming back. You'll often find daily creations that defy the norm of 'pizza by the slice'. Been going to Thor's for years. The quality and service are great. My only complaint is the cleanliness. Many times the few tables that they do have are filthy and sticky. The place would be a lot more enjoyable if you could sit and eat without sticking to the seat. read more

My husband and I picked up a pizza here to-go while vacationing near Nelson. We got the Ceres' Pride and it was delicious! The mozzarella tasted noticeably better than any pizza I had ever had before (or any mozzarella in any other dish!). They must make it there regularly because it was just so fresh! They were also very generous with the toppings, which I love. The only thing I didn't love was the crust, which I thought was a little bit tough. It wasn't exactly bad crust, it just wasn't on par with everything else, which was top notch. We both agreed that we would definitely visit again next time we were in town, though. The staff were really friendly and the overall vibe of the place was relaxed and vibrant. It's definitely worth checking out! read more

Pretty darn good! I make it a point to try local pizza spots whenever I travel, and I'm happy with my choice :) As a note, I got a couple pepperoni slices from the pre cooked section, I can only imagine that if it was a pie made just for me it would have been even better! We live here in town and visited Thors occasionally for their Pizza and it is not bad. But we will never ever go there again after the receiving the most unprofessional, rudest service I have ever come across. I told what I presume to be the owner what I thought which quickly turned into an argument, my wife and 2 children ended up just walking out. I know most chefs are hot heads but he should never ever deal with the public. There is a multitude of good lunch places in town, it's well worth passing by this one. El Paso across the street is awesome, if you want Pizza go to Itza or Leo's. read more

A good slice can be hard to come by but this place is doing it right. Good selection of pizzas and calzones to choose from, not expensive, good sizes. I had the daily special and it was excellent, really good crust. Quick and friendly service. The best pizza in the kootenays! Small resteraunt but the service is quick and personal. Always a good selection of food and drinks. The crust is one of the best partsnif the pizza. Not sure what they do but the crust has a powdery sweetness to it. Good pizza, can sit inside or outside however inside is very small and difficult to get around when busy. read more

One star for wanting to actually accommodate all of the picky eaters out there. You can get what you want however you want and no attitude to go with it. Where Thor's missed the mark for me was that it was just another pizza with nothing really special about it. The Thai chicken pizza was not even close to Thai and the chicken was few and very far between. I know the selection in Nelson is limited but the pizza here really is not any different than Panago. read more
