Where to begin. My delectable journey with Eating Royally began with a sweet potato & ginger soup…read morebrilliantly complimented by Chinese roasted pork belly. I loved hearing about Chef Darren McGrady's recent travels that influenced his choice in culinary experimentation. A true craftsman. Our experience continued with an English asparagus & pea shoots mousse with hot smoked Salomon, micro greens & spring new potatoes with dill & mustard seed creme fraiche. If only my mum had learned this recipe when I was growing up I would have eaten a lot more greens! I appreciated the lesson in the importance of texture between different ingredients. After taking our tastebuds on a rollercoaster, we cleansed our pallet with an aperol orange sorbet with ratafia crunch. The amazing Eating Royally team made this dish special through beautiful design & complimentary service. The team gracefully turned the tables each course delivering a true professional touch to everything they did. After a brief intermission giving guests time to enjoy conversation, in came the herb crusted beef tenderloin with sautéed shrimp & a madeira wild mushroom cream sauce, roasted garlic truffle mash potatoes & baby carrots. The star of the dish was the sauce that was so elegantly paired with a 2008 Blackbuck Antelope Merlot from Lone Star Wine Cellars. And when I didn't think the evening could get any better, the Eating Royally team did us in with a bitter chocolate chili tart with burnt Carmel, lime sabayon & candied jalapeños. An unexpected surprised was a self-serve sweet sauce drizzled from a Valentine's Day heart that topped the dessert. Over the top! Darren made rounds to personally introduce himself, share intimate stories, and leave us with a laugh & a smile. Thank you to the entire team that made this evening a night to remember. It took a tribe to deliver such a tactically, well executed evening we will not forget. Cheers!

The food was provided by All Events Catering, for the low low price of $6.50 and it was available on time and hot in the parking lot. You'll be glad to know that All Events Catering provides more elegant dining options than the box lunches we bought, but we were really pleased with the quality of the food we bought. Although it was delivered in a styrofoam box, the meal had great visual appeal, too. The generous servings made it a good deal, too. The meal consisted of turkey with cranberry sauce, ham, mashed potatoes with gravy, corn bread stuffing, green bean casserole, a dinner roll with butter and a slice of pumpkin pie for dessert. My expectation wasn't very high, but everything was delicious. It really ranked up there with the best Thanksgiving dinners I've enjoyed (and there have been quite a few). Thank you, Executive Chef Leslie, for a job well done. We'll be back in December for your next luncheon.
