I was lucky enough to secure an appointment right away when my cat got sick, the spot being cancelled by another person. The staff was very caring and supportive when the diagnosis wasn't good, as was Dr. Thompson who was excellent at patient care- both me and my kitty. I was pleasantly surprised by my bill afterwards also, though there were costs out of their control (labs) the in-house fees were very reasonable. We will continue to be seen here as long as they open their doors! BTW, my Worf the Clingon kitty is doing well and is expected to make a 100% recovery from FIP, until recently a terminal condition. I needed someone to check out my sweet kitty, Lucy, who wasn't feeling herself and had stopped eating. I recently moved back to the area so I was a bit hesitant to see a large animal vet as our new doctor and I assure you, I was wrong. Dr. Thompson is incredibly knowledgeable, caring and thorough. He is definitely not "just another small town vet". He sets the bar high for any other vet! (But hopefully he keeps us on as patients --2 cats-- so we won't have to worry again!!) I'm in my 50s and have always had a cat. I can unquestionably say, Dr. Thompson's office is the best vet experience we have ever had! Everyone from the office was wonderful, from the two phone calls prior, the entire visit, and putting my mind at ease throughout the process. Lucy is doing good and we felt incredibly well taken care of by the entire team!! I have already recommended him to my sister and niece who were looking for a vet for their dogs, and highly recommend this power team to anyone for animals of any size. As for my two girls, I am posting proof of how relaxed they felt not long after getting home. It typically takes a couple of days for them to be this relaxed after a visit. Dr. Thompson and his office truly took care of us with as little stress as possible! EXTRA INFO: The office is in an easy to get to location on hwy199, between Springtown and Azle, with entrances/exits from both 199 and Newsom Mound Road. Dr. T is Amazing with animals. I took my two dogs there for the first time today to be seen for some pretty routine things. I have a very timid Aussie and Dr. T literally sat on the floor the entire time to make him more comfortable and was playing with my not so shy healer. The girls in the office were great as well. Everyone took their time and was so caring I felt extremely comfortable handing them off for their shots etc. best vet experience I've ever had! Recently I took my tiny stray kitten to Thompson Veterinary to check for any problems she might have. Doctor T and DeeDee, his assistant, were beyond kind and caring. They checked Annie, my little orphan, carefully, administered a couple of tests and prepared individual doses of medication so we could easily give it to her at home. They also clipped her nails and chatted with us at length, answering all our questions and calming our fears about her health. I was expecting a pretty big bill after all the time and care we received, but the charges we received were very reasonable. Annie is doing very well and Dr. Thompson will be her vet for all her needs from now on. My kitty deserves the best and we found the best at Thompson Veterinary Services. read more

Hello Dr. Thompson: I am hoping you remember that I am the friendly lady with the black rimmed glasses that you stated you recalled from meeting me previously when I came into your office with my daughter, and her toy poodle. I am writing today after you have canceled two appointments with me to discuss a previously agreed upon arrangement that you made with me in your office on April 2, when I brought Pinkie (my 5 lb Yorkie) to be treated for a cut on her back right paw . To refresh your memory, I told you that Jenny had already told me over the phone that you no longer accepted partial payments from people because you had over $7000 in unpaid accounts. You then smiled and stated it was no longer that much and I said I was glad for you. I then humbly asked if there was any way you might consider making an exception for me as I have two dogs and have been trying to take responsible care of them on a fixed low income from social security benefits as my only source. If by allowing me to pay out my balances on a monthly basis it would help me very much. This conversation took place in the corner exam room where I sat in a chair and you were perched on the corner of the counter. You were so nice and understanding and agreed to allow me to do that. I then asked if you would please inform the ladies at the desk as well as Jenny of your exception to the rule on my behalf and you heartedly agreed to do so. We then stepped to the counter where you told both Cat and Reesa that you were allowing me to "pay what she can today, and will pay out the balance monthly." You then looked directly at me and promised to inform Jenny of this arrangement. I was so grateful that I was almost brought to tears. After you then left the room, Reesa asked me how much I would be able to pay at that time and I paid $25 towards my $84.00 bill. The following day I received an email saying my entire balance was due by May 1st. Based on the conversation I had with you, I felt that surely this was a mistake since I had already paid as much as I could for the month of April. On April 10 Jenny called me to demand full payment of my balance......I was quite shocked because she claimed to have spoken to you and it sounded to me as if you had totally forgotten our conversation. Surely there has been some mistake. Jenny also told me that she had spoken to Cat about it and that she said I had been told that at least half of my charges would be required. Dr. T., this is absolutely untrue!! At no point was a minimum of any kind mentioned. Your exact words to both Cat and Reesa were that I was being allowed to pay "what she can today" -and the balance would be pd out monthly. With humble sincerity I beg you to reflect on the previous conversation and recall our arrangement. I tried to come in person to talk to you about this. Jenny has called me on two occasions to cancel my appointments with you. This morning Jenny told me that you said you didn't have time to chat with me about my bill. After you had been so kind and understanding, I find it hard to accept that you have utterly reversed your position without so much as an opportunity to prove myself dependable. I have been going to Keith Sultemier for over 30 years and have never had a delinquent account as he knew I had to pay my balance out monthly. He told me that you were a good doctor and a good guy so I hope you will recall our conversation and set your staff straight about it because I have to admit that Jenny was rather harsh with me and even made threats to send my account to collections if I did not pay the full balance by May 1. She has since extended that to May 15 but I felt you should know that the way she talked to me was offensive. I felt like she considered me a deadbeat and I was very hurt by that. At no time was anything said about having to pay a minimum of half my bill and yet Jenny says that is what Cat told her. Cat is not the one who handled my payment that day; it was Reesa and they both heard you say specifically that you would accept whatever I could afford to pay that day. There are some basic integrity issues at stake here and I am counting on you to make it right for me. I sincerely apologize for the inconvenience and time that this long email has required of you but as you can understand I need to hear from you personally to be assured that, at the very least, you have read this. I never intended to spread a $84.00 bill out more than 2-3 months in the first place but even that was never mentioned to me because you were willing to let me do whatever I needed to. I look forward to hearing from you because I want to believe treatment of me this was never your intention. Respectfully, (After 3 months, I never even got a reply or acknowledgement of receipt and I think I may have been blocked. This is a pretty sorry way to run a business, if you ask me) read more

Recently I went to Dr. T for a 2nd opinion for my dog that was recently diagnosed with Cushing's disease. Dr. T spent time with us and was not in a hurry concerning this issue. However he said he would get back with us concerning his treatment approach in a couple days. Two weeks later and we still haven't heard anything. When we call the office they never got back with us until we kept calling. We finally had a staff member call us back and very rudely stated 'there was nothing different they could do and it would be pennies they could save us for the treatment'. I'm not sure the staff even talked with the Dr. The staff was very nice when we took our dog to the clinic but the lady (different person) we dealt with last was extremely unprofessional. Unfortunately the doctor can be excellent but if the staff is bad ... the doctor will lose many clients. We got nothing for the 'consultation' we paid for. We won't be going back. read more
