They were ready to have me come in on the same day when I called, but I was unavailable. They prioritized me as a waiting customer and had the part changed in 30 minutes! They even have refreshments in the waiting room and vehicle repair text updates. Other mechanics just had me wait in a chair for 3 hours just to tell me they can't get it done. The cost for the service was great and desk & service personnel were professional and polite, which in my experience is something that shops tend to lack. The only thing I recommend is to add a sign in the parking lot that points toward the office as the several doors outside get confusing for new customers like myself. Keep the great attitude and service up. I will be a regular customer from now on.

Update: 4 months later and during my state inspection, the mechanic found my coolant was extremely…read morelow. After a pressure test, the issue was the exact hose Firestone replaced... Come to find out, the heater hose that had been replaced wasn't even on correctly!! It was sliding on and off and would not click into place. I don't know if the gave me the wrong size hose, a faulty hose, or just didn't care enough to do it correctly, but there's no reason why it should break within 4 months. The reason I didn't fully dump coolant was because the hose expands when the car runs, so it creates a good seal. When it cools, since it wasn't on right, my car slowly leaked coolant over several months. I'm so glad that I ended up only paying 220 for this hose, because the original quote was over $600. If I had paid over 600 to get a hose that would break in less than a year, I'd be furious. I am still pretty upset because my mechanic thinks that Firestone just forced the hose to fit on there when it shouldn't have been. I will not take my car here again, that's for sure!

When I arrived, Steve said he had it put on a lift and they "discovered" that all of the pipes and joints were so rusty, that he was afraid that when he started cutting into it, that basically the entire undercarriage would have to be replaced : large rear muffler, large front muffler, the small muffler we spoke about, ALL the piping and "probably more". I asked how much and was told "at least $1200". They said they'd order the parts for the next day. When I left, I could hear odd knocking on the bottom and the smell of exhaust in the front cabin that wasn't there before, or ever. I called back the next day to report this and was blown off with "ma'am, you have an exhaust leak and the knocking you are hearing is because you probably drove over something". I knew then they were not on the up and up, so I played along and asked if my parts came in. They said yes, all but one. I asked what they were missing and was told "a part". He kept saying "just a part" but would not tell me WHAT part. Finally I was forceful and told him I needed the name of "the part". . Steve finally said, the Catalytic Converter. Horses***!. He said I needed that too. Tack on another several hundred dollars, plus labor. Scammers! I took it somewhere else the next morning, and the only thing it needed was the muffler, parts & labor $95. I've heard of stories like this, but, wow, the level of deception was criminal.

I informed him I had just flushed system and replaced transmission, they then showed me a sample of my fluid on some special kind of paper and said they must have not used the correct paper when they looked at it earlier. They next proceeded to tell my my wipers were dry-rotted and needed to be replaced or it would not pass inspection, they were 1 month old, and passed inspection at a trustworthy garage. Next they told me my tires needed to be rotated. I believe their tactics to upsell their services lack integrity, and I will never send another vehicle to them. Trust is an important factor for me with a mechanic, and they failed to gain my trust.

I came to McCoy because I had to get a state inspection. Which they were able to pull into the bay…read moreright away. After about 1 hour(state inspection should only take about 20-30) mins they told me my exhaust hanger needed repair. The cost of the hanger was $9.95 and it would take about 30 mins of welding and the labors cost for the 30 mins of welding was $55 and they could do it right now. I told them to go ahead. Once I gave them the go ahead my car set in the bay unattended for 15-20mins. Then they had to go in my car and remove something which I gave them the all clear to remove based of them saying it needed to be taking down in order to pass inspection. Now the problem came with the actual welding itself. After they removed the thibgs from the inside of my car the mechanic walked away from the car again. He then came back walked away again and came back. This happened about 3 or 4 times. He then finally lifted the car up and walked away again. He came back looked under the car and walked away again. This happen another 2 times. Then he brought the welding machine over and walked away once more. Then welded the piece which took all of 5 seconds. Then proceeded finally put the car down. Now when she originally told me the labor cost was for the 30 mins of welding labor. Now when I came in and mentioned it only took 5 seconds they then said oh thats for the welding, the machine, welder etc. I don't believe that because after I mentioned it the fellow next to her said oh did he do diagnostic. I said no just state inspection. Then a couple minutes later a guy called bother her and the fellow next to her in the back. They were back there for about 5-7 mins and then thats when she gave me the story about the $55 was not just for the labor but the machine, welder, etc. What it seems like to me is they tried to make it seems like it would be 30 mins and tried to drag it out to be 30 mins to justify the cost and what they told me but when I called it out the story cahnged. I would be very weary of bringing my car back here. If I hadn't been watching what they were doing I would have believed them based on when I actually got my car back. I came in a little before 9:20am and didnt leave until after 11:25am.
