Nevertheless, it serves the residents of the local area and visitors passing through. On my visit today I noticed two very nice playground areas that should please any child. There's also two separate picnic places sheltered from the weather. Men's and ladies restrooms are onsite. Additionally, there's a paved basketball court. Overall, I consider this a nice addition to the city ( or town as you prefer) and a park to be proud of.

Given the way it's angled, the leaf at the top is hard to see, and from the angles you'd likely be looking at it from, you might think it looks like something other than a peach. There is a restaurant next door which as of this writing is defunct. There's not much else nearby, but the couple of parking spots and small park set up around the peachoid make it clear that it's here to be visited. There are a few fruit trees, including some peaches, though the fruit appeared to have a high rate of getting hit by various blights. Natural part of a tropical climate I guess, but not an inspiring sight.

What I can't understand is why this park is closed and padlocked on a beautiful Sunday afternoon! I mean really; what's the point of having a beautiful neighborhood park if it can't be used? There's absolutely nothing for children or young people to do here. There's a dozen or so benches scattered around the perimeter of this park. The grass is perfectly groomed and is extremely green for this time of year. This park was named in honor of a very popular and nice person, our previous mayor.
