To begin, this company provides a very good window. They represent themselves as providing Superior Selection, Expert Installation, No-Hassle Warranty. Safety and Accessibility, Beautiful By Design, One Day Installation, Easy Maintenance. and Long-Last Materials. Having just had 13 windows installed, I have no reason to refute any of these claims. From my experience their primary focus is on making the sale and not ensuring a high quality customer experience. Pricing transparency? Clear as mud. They gladly apply discounts to reduce the "actual cost" that are pulled out of an I pad. Smoke and mirrors. Even greater savings are available if you "just sign today --- but no pressure". Expect to learn everything about the construction of the window and their "design, build, install" model. Do NOT expect them to share any details about the installation process or provide firm timeframes. How so? We ordered custom windows, and they explained those take longer. Makes sense. The we received an installation date longer than we were told to expect. OK. Friday morning before the installation the following Monday we received a text message confirming our installation would be the following Tuesday, as we had been told weeks earlier. It asked us to confirm, which we did. At 4:58 pm that same Friday I receive a voice mail message : "Because your windows are painted I have been advised by our factory there will be a delay. I am tentatively scheduling a new date of ....17 days later." The windows were always to be painted, and the installation date was already moved back 2 weeks as a result. After our order we learned we'd also need to remove all the blinds beforehand. Makes sense - and we were glad we asked. "But there is no need to remove the brackets to the blinds" was the guidance provided. Whew. On the day of installation, the installers removed all the brackets. Because they had to. Installation day: we did not think to ask how much interior access to our home would be needed. All windows needed to be brought through our house (installers asked for access through the longest route possible, oddly), all old windows removed using that same route. Shabby cloth runners were placed on our floors, which at least somewhat reduced the grime from work boots traveling across our floors all day. Alas, at the end of the day after the drop cloths were removed, an installer had to go back through our home with no floor coverings left to retrieve tools and a drop cloth that were left behind upstairs. Enter new grime in places that had dodged that day's grime. Additionally, about a quarter of our window sills were full of grime left over from the installation. Brackets could not be reinstalled (by us) for 24 hours so the caulk could dry. While none of these many annoyances represent deal breakers, Thompson Creek's "expert technicians" who meet with you to pitch their products make an effort to help prospective customers understand "what to expect". Finally --- after providing a check for my deposit there was likely something in the sales agreement indicating the balance would be electronically swept from that same bank account upon completion. What makes me think that? Because upon completion I asked the installer if I could provide him my credit card information to pay the balance owed. "No the office will be in contact with you." Expecting a call, I instead received an alert from my bank app within the hour that the balance owed was being taken from my checking account --- the same one I paid the deposit from. A nice last surprise from this company. This company provides a good product. Their competitors are few, which they well know. That may explain why their "after the sale" process consistently demonstrated they prioritize making the sale over the total experience of their customers. read more

Despite the setbacks, the installers were professional and the finished door looks very nice. Once the installation was finally completed correctly, the quality of the product itself met my expectations. However, the overall process was far more stressful than it should have been. My original appointment was scheduled back in February, but no one showed up, and when I called, I was told the appointment was not even in the system so they had to rescehdule. Then on installation day, the crew arrived with the wrong size and wrong color door, which delayed the installation and caused me to miss work. Communication throughout the process was slow, and I had to repeatedly call and request escalation before receiving consistent updates. Ironically, communication became much quicker when it came time to collect the final payment. While compensation was eventually offered, it felt like the minimum possible amount considering the inconvenience and lost time involved. In the end, the final product turned out well, but the scheduling, communication, and ordering issues made the experience frustrating overall. read more

We purchased 2 replacement windows. Storms came through the night they were installed and we heard air whistling around the window. Upon closer inspection, there is a 1/4" gap in the one window. Disappointing experience -- especially when factoring in the $60K price tag -- I know, ridiculous. Our windows were installed in December 2025 and I hope to warn other potential consumers that this company has an incredible sales team who will provide solid samples and an incredible pitch - however the installation was done very poorly. It has been six months and we are still waiting for repairs -- one window does not even open. We have a 2021 Thompson Creek back door in Geneva blue color with a glass insert. Hoping to purchase an OEM screen insert to swap-out seasonally, I submitted an inquiry via the Thompson Creek website's Contact Us page. When I didn't hear back on my inquiry, I called Thompson Creek's sales team. The polite sales representative referred me to the service department and provided the phone number. On July 11th, I called Thompson Creek's service department and had a pleasant conversation with Shannon who provided her email address. While on the call, I sent an email with images of our door and the warranty tag. She confirmed receipt and said that she'd get back to me the following week. She also encouraged me to email her the following week to seek a status update. I followed Shannon's instructions and emailed her on July 18th, excited about purchasing and receiving an OEM screen insert in time for the cooler fall weather. After not hearing back, I sent follow-up emails on: July 28th August 3rd August 9th August 14th Frustrated, on September 16th, I called the Thompson Creek service department and reached Alexis. She too was very polite and easy to interact with. Alexis chatted with Shannon and informed me that Shannon was going to prioritize my request and contact me soon. Fall has arrived and unfortunately, I never heard back from Shannon or any other Thompson Creek employee. Having wasted my time and effort on this pursuit, I ordered a custom-sized screen insert from another manufacturer. Unfortunately, it won't match the color of my door, so I selected a white screen frame to match the trim. Thompson Creek continues to send mailings to our home in an attempt to sell new windows, doors, siding, and roofing products. Zero stars. I spent $20K on windows and a door. I have minor warranty issues (2 screens that need repair and one that needs replacing) but they just ignore me. Over the last six weeks I have filled out the online form three times and called them twice. They never respond to the online forms and when I call they tell me they will call me back but they never do. The people they contracted to install the door were shady and rude. I didn't feel comfortable having them in my house. They arrived in a box truck and one of them was riding in the back compartment and had to be let out by the others. At this point I am unsure about the quality of the windows or doors but based on the falsehoods from their sales and service people I do not believe anybody of the claims made when we had them installed 9 months ago. Specifics We wanted a new patio window. The sales guy told us all about the thompson creek manufacturing process and their warranties for sliding glass doors. It sounded great. One of their competitors called me to say tc does not make patio doors - those are outsourced to a canadian company. That sounded wrong but I called to check and the project manager confirmed everything the sales guy said was incorrect But he was new so possibly did not know. Not a good way to start but the explanation was acceptable so we went ahead with the door and all of our windows. Fast forward to March I noticed that we did not have an itemized invoice needed for the energy efficient tax credits. I emailed the project .manager for it and received back a single one item - all work. I emailed back with the details of what the irs requires and got nothing Two weeks later I called and spoke to somebody who assured me I would get the details either by close of business or in the morning. That did not happen - i gave it a week Second call, i was told it needed manager approval and I would get a response with 24 hours. Nothing again Third call, I was told yo hang on the rep was going to talk to the manager now - they then hung up on me Fourth call, I was told that is up to the manager to decide there is no way to escalate there is no way to contact them and they might get back yo me Today is tax day and tc still has not gotten back to me with either the info needed or the reason why they cannot provide it. We contacted Thompson Creek to replace a broken window in late November. They told us at the time that they would be able to get the new windows installed by Christmas. So we signed their contracts and paid the deposit. Today they called to schedule the installation and said they couldn't do it before late January. If we'd known that timetable, we probably wouldn't have gotten the windows replaced at this time and would have done a more comprehensive window repair at a later date. No opinion on the quality of windows, as the work hadn't been done, but I would not use these people if they give you an expedited timeline - they may not keep to it. read more

Would not recommend Thompson Creek for your project. My husband and I hired them in December 2025 to replace windows, front door and recap some areas that were peeling around the windows. We thought by going with a well know reputible company that we would get excellent service. All was agreed on, payment was made and we are still trying to get some things resolved. We are so disappointed in Thompson Creek. As of today, March 3rd they were supposed to reimburse us for work that they could not do. We were very pleased with the quality of product offered and the professionalism of the installation team; however, our experience ended on a sour note as Thompson Creek failed to finish the agreed upon work. Thompson Creek finished their work and the project manager inquired about our satisfaction of the job. We explained that during the quoting process, we were told that their gutter installation would replace our current system including moving the water away from the home where applicable (this included a section requiring a run of corrugated tubing away from a downspout that lands under a raised part of the home). The project manager initially advised they would not complete this as it wasn't explicitly spelled out in the contract. Upon follow up, we received notice that their sales team apologized and should have included this in the quote. Things then appeared optimistic and Thompson Creek agreed to make the required repairs. Their installer then visited the property, rendered an repair, and advised that the repair he made was temporary and it would need to be fixed - leaving us with a 20 foot gutter run held up by bricks. Upon follow up, Thompson Creek offered to install what was needed to complete the job if we purchased the supplies. Thompson Creek leaned on the contract as to the reason for not remediating the issue; where we were advertised otherwise as part of the quoting process verbally. After multiple calls with Thompson Creek, I have decided to spend $65 and 15 minutes to fix the issue myself. I live in an area that has many window and siding contractors with teaser promotions! Some of which you really have to read the fine print in order to determine what you will finally pay! Thompson Creek made not be the cheapest game in town, but if you needed medical care would you try to find the cheapest provider for your personal well being? A word on my sliding glass doors. My old doors were very drafty and noisy! You could hear them being opened and closed! My new Thompson Creek doors open and close very quietly! I am very happy with my projects and the lifetime transferable warranty that comes with them! I have purchased both their windows and a sliding patio door. Initially, I was very pleased with their products as they reduced drafts and the change in noise was substantial. However, over the years, this year especially, I have found that the windows and door have substantial leaks and that they generate cold. As a result, I have placed plastic over these windows, and the sliding door, to reduce the conduction of cold through them. I am, in essence, back to where I was before replacing the door and windows. I have tried to contact their warranty department twice through their on-line website. They have never contacted me to respond. I have called on more than one occasion, leaving messages to contact me, all for naught. I strongly advise, do NOT use this company. My husband and I purchased over $30,000 worth of new doors for our home. Review is as high as 2 stars because the doors themselves are nice (not counting the handles). But the salesman lied to us about the handles for the doors and company refuses to take any responsibility for the lie and change the handles. If we had known we could not have the handles as promised, we would not have purchased the doors - honestly -as they destroy the look of the doors. We were extremely specific when purchasing, showing examples within our home of what was required and what was unacceptable. It is that important; I have to look at them multiple time a day, every day. Sadly, it was not spelled out specifically enough in the contract or we would have sued them already. CAUTION!!! I had my siding and window trim done in the winter of 2024. The siding turned out great and had no complaints there. As for the problem... if you want to pick up nails on your property for the rest of your life...this is the company for you. I was told the team went around with magnets to pick up nails after the job. My first trip around the house I found a Tupperware containers worth and decided to call the company. A manager ? Or someone of that nature came out to the house and picked up nails with me for an hour. When I asked if they could send a team out to pick up the nails he said that " There's nothing we can do since the magnets wouldn't pick up the galvanized coated nails and the team was on a new project." They left it at that. Since I have a dog and my neighbor has kids who run around I constantly go out and pick up nails after it rains. I also have gotten a magnet to pick up the nails that "couldn't be picked up with a magnet ." Photos say otherwise. I understand there is some trash and nails missed on construction jobs. I worked in construction for 12 years. For all the money you spend you think some care would go into this. I'm just thankful I haven't had one go through my foot yet. read more

Do not use this company for any services! They installed my roof 3 years ago; it began linking one year later because of a hole in the plywood. The service manager came out and said the hole was caused by a tree that hit my house and was considered an act of God. Any act of God is not covered under warranty, and no tree is near my roof. The spackling job around the inside of the window was so uneven and messy when it dried. They sent a guy out to repair the spackling holes ,but he said he didn't have the supplies to repair the damage to my brand new window. Bought a house. A while after doing so, one of the casement windows (which looks pretty new) is having an issue closing, so I call the brand listed on the window -- Thompson Creek. They tell me I should've had the warranty transferred from old owner to me when I bought the house. (1.) The seller never mentioned a transferable warranty, and (2.) When buying a house, how the heck am I supposed to go thru every item on the house to find out if there's a transferable warranty? This is a totally unrealistic ask of Thompson Creek. If they're unwilling to transfer the warranty to me now that I know there's a transferable warranty, I just cannot recommend using Thompson Creek, and when I need new windows (which I will -- I have lots of old windows I'll need to replace), I'll have to call someone else. read more

I placed an order for two doors, a front door and a storm door. I've been going back and forth for months, dealing shady pricing practices, missed appointments or constant rescheduling of the installation date etc. I placed a down-payment of 2K and still have received nothing and to add insult to injury told that if I want to cancel I have to forfeit my 2K down-payment for a door they haven't even created. It's something new with every call. I just received yet another call today telling me they can't find my paint color even though my doors were due to be installed today. THEN I was told that it's my responsibility to go to provide them with a sample and for me to go to Home Depot and see if they can provide me with a swatch for me to provide to them. I said my doors were due to be installed today and you're just telling me today, 9-26-25 that you need me to run to Home Depot to find paint meaning that the doors still aren't ready. Please run from this company. They're clearly stalling me and don't have the necessary resources to do the work. And talk about entrapment, they lock you into paying a down-payment or paying everything in full or signing an installment payment agreement while keeping your down-payment. You've invested money and then and you end up with absolutely nothing or being perked around for months because you don't want to lose your money. Things started off well enough with their Sales Rep and it's been all downhill from there. I was told today that I will receive yet another call on Monday...mind you, today was call number four and they've all been from the same person who sounds like the receptionist. I am seeking professional assistance with dealing with all of this so I can seek a more professional company to get my doors installed. Had an estimate from G he wrote on piece of paper 34,000 and said my price would be 32,000 to put James hardy siding on three sides of my 1200 sq ft house. They are more than twice as much than anyone else. I would never recommend them for anything. The experience started with a sales meeting at our townhouse, which went well, typical pushy salesman but the company offers quality warranties. After accepting the deal and paying a deposit the salesman left and we could never get in touch with him again. We wanted to change a trim option on the installation and contacted him but he never bothered to call back and we ended up dealing with one of their in house project managers. We got the changes we wanted after multiple calls and emails. The date came that the windows were to be installed and one person was at the home waiting. The company called the cell phone of the person who was at work that day saying in a voicemail that no one is home and the installation team had to leave. No one knocked on the door or even drove by that morning in a work truck so this was a complete lie. They rescheduled to the next Saturday morning. Saturday came and the installation team arrived about 9:30am. The representative from the company stopped by at about 10:30am and walked directly into the house like he owned the place and up to my mother who lives in this townhome mainly. He was a very off-putting, overweight, tall man with a gross beard, he aggressively asked my mom if she had the money to pay the team when the job was done. We said you want us to pay the installers you will not be back? He said " yea you pay them". Absolutely disgusting representation of this company and this would be a reason that I never have them install anything again. This situation felt unsafe and the guy was a total creep. The windows they produce are great however their installation team and the people who set up everything from their office are so poor at what they do. Anyone getting Thompson Creek windows should just work with a quality contractor and not make our mistake. There is no reason to have them install the windows when they outsource the installation to independent contractors that are extremely unreliable. MUST READ BEFORE YOU BUT FROM THOMPSON CREEK WINDOWS!!!!f you have any wind at all STAY AWAY FROM THESES WINDOWS.! If you live on the Chesapeake Bay forget it, these windows will not work! I have had to have my windows on my porch completely replaced three times in the first year and a half. Since then, I have had 14 service calls. We were sold double hung windows but we couldn't even open or shut them, they would get crooked and jammed. Thompson Creek said they were too big so they then installed Casement windows but even a minor wind would cause the hinges to bend, break or fall off. The next solution was to reframe the window opening and install smaller windows which we didn't want to do but they said it was the only way. We experienced very same problems we had with the larger casements. The next solution was to install child safety latches on the top and bottom of the windows because without the latches the windows would still flop around. This only allowed the windows to open three inches. Can you imagine buying windows for your porch that only open three inches? The child protection latches fall off all the time and the only way to close the window when that happens is to get on a ladder outside and rehang the latch. I couldn't take it anymore and these windows are supposed to be guaranteed for life so I opened another service ticket for this problem and a one window that was foggy inside the glass. Another disaster, service guy came out a month later to measure for the replacement foggy window and said it would take up to two weeks to build it and get it reinstalled, weeks later I heard nothing. I called again and was told the window was never ordered from the factory. They reordered and scheduled install date. Date came and nobody showed up. I called yet again and they told me they made the wrong window so my service call was canceled but nobody ever told me. After so many more calls to the service company with no call backs I had to escalate to the President of the company and still nothing just weeks and months of different people telling me different things. The absolute worst service I have experienced in my 65 years on this earth. I am blown away with this company's inability to provide service on their own products. They can't even get out of their way! Make your own decision but it would be a HARD NO for me if I ever had to buy windows again. Still waiting on a solution from them. If I could give this company a Zero, I would. I made appt for estimates on a back storm door as well as a side garage door. The 1st appt was for 10/18/25 @9am. The rep left message on Fri., 10/17 verifying appt. At 9 am 10/18,I received a call informing me the rep couldn't make it but we could do a Zoom meeting. I was not pleased with having to choose doors this way but agreed. To make long story short, the Zoom app on my phone was not working properly so I decided to make another in home appt. This 2nd appt was for today, 10/21/25 at 6:30 pm. The rep. messaged me , confirming the appt date and time, stating he would see me then. I waited 20 minutes and called office informing them that the rep hadn't shown up. I was put on hold and then told that the rep that was to come (and texted me confirming appt. detaild) wasn't " on schedule for today". Really?? Considering how many other companies are out there, I am not bothering with 3 strikes. We did their bathroom product install back in mid-March. It is still not complete as of today (mid-August). To begin, I'm not entirely sure why all the products were not at the original install, which should've taken 1 to 2 days maximum. But somehow things were left off like window trim and other trim to finish it off. The crew was luckily wonderful to work with and very helpful - they were a bit confused as well given that having the product go to the ceiling was a main selling point for me, and then it didn't. completely baffled as to how that could be miscommunicated. I knew it would take a while to order the products to finish things, but I received little to no communication in the meantime. I checked back up with them sometime in June, and they said it would be in by mid July. July came and went and we did finally receive a call just letting us know that this person was our touch-point and was looking into our project. They said they would call back the next day and never did. I finally got a hold of the project coordinator, who said they were waiting for someone at the warehouse to put their hands on the parts that they believe are there for my job. Again said they would call back. He did say it might be a day, so I have waited but now it's two days and no call. Meanwhile my bathroom is left unfinished for 3+ months, for a job that should've taken 1 to 2 days. I don't know what's going on there but this is getting absurd. I'm a very patient person. If you let me know what's going on, I'm usually very understanding, I can wait knowing the shipping delays are crazy, etc. But the lack of communication has just been horrible. I cannot recommend them until this is fixed. I'll happily update my review of the actual product once it is complete. read more

We had a back door replaced by these guys, and found the whole experience to be effective and professional. They showed up when they said they would, completed the work quickly and competently, and the door looks great and seems to be super high quality. The price was a bit higher than comparable options but great quality. I'm posting this because I was scared by all the negative reviews here but I found our experience to be positive - they were straightforward and did what they said they would. read more

More issues with the 2nd-attempt gutter install, by Thompson Creek. I just noticed how far away the gutter is installed from the roof. Also notice the big hole TC cut in my deck and left--because they messed up hanging the downspout the first time. This will be their 3rd attempt to fix this. My fascia board probably looks like swiss cheese now. I paid thousands to TC and this is what we received. read more

UPDATE: From 1 star to 3 stars Thanks to my social media posts a supervisor from Thompson Creek finally contacted me, confirmed a date for someone to come and help me, and sent me details in writing of what they were committing to. The Project Manager, Carl, came out, helped fix the issue (and a misunderstanding on my part), and got things taken care of. Another supervisor reached out a few hours later and offered a small amount of compensation for the frustration and I accepted. A week later, I followed up with both supervisors because the compensation never came through... go figure. That said, they have since processed it and I am appeased. Worth adding to the story, my initial sales contact was very pleasant, the project manager and installer team who did the actual work here were very polite and efficient. It is truly just the customer service at Thompson Creek that is shamefully behind the 8-ball. I advise anyone choosing to work with Thompson Creek to get everything in writing. Write down the names, numbers, times, quoted prices, and commitments of anyone you talk with. Take before and after photos of everything you sign, and hope beyond hope you don't have to call their service center for anything. ORIGINAL: Contracted this company to install two doors. They came and performed the initial work, but did not complete the installation correctly and the work was unsatisfactory. I wrote detailed notes on the installation receipt when the contractor was still at my home letting them know I did not approve them billing me the final amount until the work was completed, and I was assured they would communicate that to the project manager. First thing Monday morning I saw that I was billed anyway. I contacted the company via telephone and spoke with my project coordinator, Courtney, who promised me that they would call me back by the end of the day with an update. I didn't hear from them that day or the next. I finally called again on Wednesday and was told that Courtney hadn't documented my issue but that a message was sent to her and she would call me back. She never did. I called again today (Thursday) and asked to speak to a manager. The service rep refused to let me speak to a manager and instead tracked down Courtney again who gave me the run-around. She went on and on about how she didn't follow-up because she never heard from the PM, and that the issue was the contractor's fault for not telling the PM about the install issues, and she didn't take any accountability for her poor service until I called her out on it. I told her that I needed something in writing from her by the end of the day (4:00 pm she made sure to tell me several times since that was when she got off work) and she promised to have an email to me by 2:25 pm. I told her that without that follow-up I would put a stop payment on the last two transactions. At 4:00 I did not hear from her, a manager, a PM, or sales with any information. TL;DR Thompson Creek is an unreliable and untrustworthy company. Do not use their services. read more
