TSA - probably the most strict I've seen in the world. They seem to run on their own program. At takeoff time, the crew was still waiting on the refueling truck. Sure, it's convenient if you're traveling to select locations, but I'm not sure I'll do it again. I value timeliness and standardized procedures.

There is a conference room available that can be rented (unsure if you have to pay). No overnight stays as the airport closes I believe around 1030pm. It's clean and newly renovated. The renovation is aesthetically pleasing. Currently, Delta Airlines primarily operates and flies out of this airport. American Airlines previously operated here about a year ago. It's convenient and easy to get in and out without any stress. TSA is pretty quick and efficient. I would use this airport again in the future.

I fly regularly and am very aware of what is allowed in a carry on bag, today was no different. The "TSA agent" (hero) made me stand in the body scanner for TEN passes because it was flagging my wrist each time, it was clearly just the bracelet I had on but he refused to recognize that or let me take it off. After the TSA hero sniffed out and eliminated that huge safety threat, I get thru and my carryon gets flagged next. I patiently sit there while they unfold my clothes and scramble up my entire bag to get a swab of every inch in my suitcase. I am calm at this point and recognize they are just doing there job, no issues. Next comes the real kicker, the explosive residue detector alarm starts "ringing like crazy" -TSA hero's words. None of the 6 other people standing right there heard such a thing or anything other than the normal scanning noises. Buddy runs around and informs me I need to go thru a full body search. He proceeds to aggressively pat and rub me down in EVERY area of my body. This guy groped me and went Mike Tyson in my testicular area with his aggressive demeanor. Only to tell me he found nothing and I'm good to go. Way to save the day buddy. A true hero in our community.

Now that I have a 2-year-old son, it was a pleasant surprise to discover that the staff at the airport seemed enjoy when I bring my kid out. The pilots are all very friendly and very happy to talk about there plans and where they've gone. It's a trip to hear my 2-year-old son. Tell me that ailerons are for turning the planes around. There's almost always something going on at the airport even if only the planes flying training hours or coming in for fuel. I really enjoy the stories from some of the pilots that I met. I highly recommend for a cheap outing if you have kids.

From the west, you will fly right over Auburn University before landing. There is no tower here, but the airport can get pretty busy with student pilots in the aviation program there. Also, I imagine that it gets pretty busy on game weekends in the Fall or if anything else of significance is going on at the university.

The Delta employee behind the counter obviously left early and other employees refused to help my mom check her bag. They made her bring it on the flight- I think to solely inconvenience her. They made her take her shoes off, her cardigan and her necklace. They were so adamant that she was so late but unnecessarily and meticulously went through every single part of her luggage. And wouldn't you know, she actually made her flight there? Crazy, right!? Luckily, when she got to ATL, an employee saw the distress my mother was in and got her a wheel chair. The people that work at this airport are a perfect example of why you should stay in school. You are all a joke.
