I submitted a complaint to the Board of Dentistry. After an investigation, the Board determined Yoon failed to diagnose the decay in my tooth for FIVE YEARS worth of visits. The Board issued Yoon a monetary fine and is making him take classes on how to read x-rays. I repeat... this guy is being forced to take classes on how to read x-rays!!! In the last 6 months before a competent dentist finally removed my decayed tooth, it had gotten so rotten that I was taking vicodin every day just to be able to go about my life. Yoon misdiagnosed me to the point where I wasted thousands of dollars on a custom mouth guard I never needed and I got a root canal done on a tooth that didn't even need one! This guy put me through months of pain and suffering. I attached the Board of Dentistry's findings, which is public information. So no, Yoon, you can't sue me for my Yelp review. read more

Be careful !! Dr Thomas Yoo have no skills , very fake and tricky! I had a root canal and crown done over there . The tooth is still uncomfortable and have a big gap between my teeth. He told me nothing he can do to fix the gap, I have to live with it. ( that mean my good tooth will have problem in the near future because he have no skills and no being honest) It was wasted of my money. If you have other choice please avoid this place. read more

Number one, I hate doctors. Number two, I hate dentists. Number three, I am afraid of sharp/pointy objects coming in my way... I have been going to Dr. Yoon for over two years now and I can't say enough good things about this place. I love Dr. Yoon. I love his (new) dental hygienist, receptionist, and everyone else there. Whew it's not as bad as a thought... I still have my teeth and after all the work that is need .. I will still maintain my teeth...lol from the moment I walked in to the time a left , everyone one the staff big smiles and pleasant attitudes. Wow! I can't believe we randomly stumbled on such a great dental office!! My husband HATES the dentist and made a point to tell them after the appointment that this was the best experience he had ever had at a dental office. It's a very small operation, just three people but very efficiently-run. We didn't wait more than 5 minutes to be seen and Dr. Yoon apologized for making us wait even that long stating that "he hated making an appt. and having to wait for it". He is very down-to-earth and funny. He will tell you what you need to improve on without shaming you about it, he even admitted that he didn't start flossing until he was in his 30s. He does his own cleaning, which is crazy...I've never had the dentist themselves do more than a quick run-by at the end of my appointment. Also, I really like the music playing...it's really mellow...I heard The Beatles "Here Comes the Sun" and that really pretty acoustic White Stripes song. Went to the office for a cleaning and a comprehensive exam. The receptionist and the dental hygenist were friendly and pleasant. I was quite satisfied with the whole experience... until Dr. Yoon came to do the examination. Dr. Yoon was "too busy" to spend more than 5 minutes with me and said that he could do a more comprehensive exam if I came back to get treatment on a problem tooth. I completely understand he was rushed for time (he had two other patients getting procedures done), but then I wish I would have been scheduled when he was less busy. I asked the receptionist if I could get a more comprehensive treatment plan, since I've never had a dentist tell me they couldn't provide me with a complete treatment plan because they didn't have time. I had a bit of a hard time convincing her that this was a strange dental experience for me, and finally, when she asked me if Dr. Yoon had answered all of my questions, I had to say "no." She called him back and he explained things a bit further, and ended up giving me a makeshift treatment plan. But he basically said he was "too busy" to talk to me, and that a comprehensive exam plus answering all my questions would take 20 minutes. Apparently, that was too long for him?! It almost seemed like he wanted me to come back in, pay more money, and have him look at my teeth again, even though the whole point of a comprehensive exam is to get everything looked at. What made even less sense was that he seemed to imply that my dental problems required too much time to review. The funny thing is: the last time I went to a dentist was 6 months ago, and I had all of the same problems I currently have. But that dentist was sure to provide me with a complete treatment plan during the comprehensive exam. In addition, Dr. Yoon seemed to hint that he wouldn't really try to perform the less invasive procedure (a filling), but would instead go straight for a more invasive procedure... even though that isn't absolutely necessary at this point. I understand he didn't want to get my hopes up that the tooth can be saved, since it is likely the filling won't suffice. However, it worries me that he won't even try to save the tooth, but does whatever is easier for him. All in all, an unpleasant experience. After the great reviews on Yelp, I even made him my primary dentist on insurance. Now, I may need to re-evaluate my options. I may be in the market for a new dentist... read more

I saw Dr. Yoon today, my first dental appointment in over two years and I was very nervous. I got to the office early and was greeted by pleasant staff. The office was pretty-- modern and neat with a TV on silent in the corner to help pass the time. I was taken back to my appointment on time. The first part of the appointment was x-rays which was nothing to write home about, then a brief discussion about my medical history and general dental history and concerns. Dr. Yoon did my first cleaning and explained that he likes to see for himself what kind of dental hygiene his patients come in with because it influences his treatment plan. I was worried about a crown and the need for fillings and Dr. Yoon looked at my problem areas and even showed me what he saw using a small camera that hooked up to a TV I could easily see. I would agree with the other reviews of Dr. Yoon saying he is a 'conservative' dentist, not rushing to treatment and considering my dental history I was relieved. He addressed my concerns professionally but used more of a 'big picture' approach to make decisions about treatment. I asked about invisalign at the end of the visit when I realized I wasn't being signed up for tons of (unnecessary) treatment and he gave me some great referrals. Overall the staff was nice, the doctor was nice, the office was neat, and most importantly all aspects of my care felt non-threatening. I've visited Dr. Yoon twice so far, both good experiences. What everyone wants in a dentist: speedy, polite, informative, and helpful. I got all of that, so I'll be a regular patient of his. For both my visits, I was out of the waiting room and in the dentist's chair in about 5 minutes. Treatment began promptly and there were no significant delays. My treatment was done entirely by the doctor rather than any of his assistants. Dr. Yoon was friendly, letting me know what was going on at all times. He told me about treatment options and worked quickly, without leaving me waiting by myself for treatment like a lot of dentists/doctors seem to do. I needed novacaine shots three times, Dr. Yoon did a good job minimizing the discomfort each time. I'm very happy with the one visible filling that needed to be put into my front tooth, it's barely visible at all even up close. As for the office, it's got digital x-rays, but I think all dentists have those now. Everything seems pretty modern and as comfortable as dentistry can be. New insurance means a new search for a dentist, and at the time (6mo ago) there were not many reviews of this practice so I gave it a try, and I'm glad I did. I went for a routine checkup and cleaning, despite 1+ years since my last check. From the outside, the building is a typical office park (the kind you drive by and don't notice), but the inside is clean and modern. Dr Yoon is amazing! My family came to visit us from U.K. and my sister's experience a terrible pain in her tooth the next day arrival. I've called Dr Yoon at his emergency number and he explained everything about the situation for my family. We walked in to his dentist office without an appointment on Monday as her teeth hurts under too much pressure and very pleased that Dr Yoon was very comforting and understand the circumstances in our situation. I chose Dr.Yoon because I liked that he is meticulous and ethical in his dental work and his office has the most modern dental technology. I had a very complicated case and needed my old mercury amalgam fillings removed as well as a bad crown. Dr. Yoon follows the safest mercury removal protocol (many dentist do not) and so I avoided breathing in the poisonous mercury vapors during the removal process. I get compliments all the time on my smile now thanks to Dr. Yoon. He also has low-radiation digital dental X-rays. Since I met the staff I have had excellent experiences in this office. So good in fact that I recommended my husband, my sister and her son to this practice. My first impression was that I have never seen such diverse staff in this or any other county. They are all very competent and take their time to explain every procedure. They have the most affordable prices I have ever seen. I recently chipped two molars and the dreaded experience of getting fillings is no longer a source of fear. First, the Dental Assistant recommended that I kept my sunglasses on to avoid the irritating bright light on my eyes. Clever measure that no one had ever suggested before. I've had countless novocaine injections and they have never worked as well and as quickly. The Dentist Assistant maintained the water and suction on in perfect tandem with the Dentist's movements. I am a major denta-phobe. After waiting waaay too long to get things taken care of, I found myself needing lots of scary work. Ive been to several dentists in the area, and Dr Yoon and his staff are by far the best Ive found. Almost every single time Ive gone in, theyve been ready for me. The most Ive had to wait is probably 10 minutes max. Also, they call and remind you about every appointment, which I love because I forget everything. Dr. Yoon explained everything he did, reviewed all of my xrays, told me what to expect at every turn. He knew how nervous I was and treated me so kindly, never making me feel like a child or a wimp. His staff did the same. Im sure that after looking at my teeth, he coudve given me a 3 hour lecture about everything I was doing wrong, but never did. He is so- so-so thorough, using a super microscope when he removed decay, making sure that everything was gone and would never cause me problems again. I feel 100% confident that all of the work Ive had done there was done correctly and that I wont be going back for anything he missed.
