**READ BEFORE USING GARVIN**…read more We had Garvin replace our roof last year and it immediately started leaking from the day it was put on our house. We asked them multiple times to come out and fix it, but no matter what they did it kept leaking and they were always trying to find fault with everything but the brand new roof they put on. Water was coming into our home for over a year with them continuing to give us the run around. We got other professional opinions and they all stated that a metal roof should never have been put on our house due to the pitch. We knew we needed an asphalt roof at that point, asked Garvin to cover that cost, but they refused. We paid $20,000 for Garvin's roof, $10,000 for new windows Garvin said were the issue (they weren't), and $11,000 for another roofing company to take off their roof and put on the new asphalt roof we have now WITH NO LEAKS. This doesn't even include the cost to fix the damage to the interior of our home because we can't afford to address it yet Do not trust Garvin. Do not use them if you value your time and money. Working with them was a nightmare from day one and a huge mistake.

One of the worst experiences I have ever had with a contractor…read more LESS THAN ONE STAR I have filled a complaint with BBB, the owner of Ontario Builders- Stepenen Bolster. No response in over a month Mr Bolster failed to complete jobs he had contracted to do. Failed to complete and to and reasonable standard. Roof incomplete and bad leak over electricial service. Door poor quility build and not secured or finished. Roof and supports done incorrect - zero flashing and roof installed inproperly creating a hazard. Never installed insulation indoor porch - he removed, in August Had girlfriend over and in my garage - without permission, He furnished no reciepts - -bugged me for payment - accepted in full never to be seen again, blamed me He left unused material here - material ment for jobs to be completed. They left so much debris Ciggerette butts - weed stuff - nails everywhere - in where animals are kept. Debris from his buddy kicking my roofing in - not picking trash up He was paid in full - cash - he acknowlweges that- about $ 6000 total. He has posted my private pictures on social media - I requested they be removed - time of essence. A month later pictures still up - someone sent me copies today Mr Bolster has not reponded to BBB requests as required when complaint filled I have to get all this stuff fixed and am in worse position than when I started. *** note if you have anything around - they eye it all and talk about your stuff like it belongs to them. I NEVER WOULD RECOMMEND THIS COMPANY AND MR BOLSTER HAS STOLEN MY MONEY AND NOT RESPECTED MY PRIVACY. There is a text trail for all of this - I offered reasonable solution. Having him back to work here - not an option DO NOT TRUST THIS THIEF, DON'T GIVE HIM A CENT - POOR BUSINESS-

After texting if he would honor the original stated cost. He responded punitively and basically pushed the schedule to mid July. Knowing this is too late for mulch without addressing my question. Additionally they charged $700 to fix a small corner. No further soil was added and I placed the edging rocks back in place prior. IF YOU WANT TO BE TREATED POORLY, overcharged then dropped as a prior 2 year client. They did the original landscaping which was very pricey Near $8000. As an existing repeat customer this is UNACCEPTABLE!

Responding to messages! I know! It's crazy right? With all the storms and winter seasonal damage jobs happening they still made me feel important. They scheduled the job and called a couple days before to confirm. My property is on a slope so access to the yard is difficult. Elliot & sons had some of the newest equipment allowing access without destroying the lawn (in the rain no less!) They did all the work expected and a few little extras along the way. Upon finishing they cleaned up the yard and tamped down any ruts. The crew was respectful, friendly and entertaining! As far as cost, the quote was less than I expected. Considering the process just described I think it was some of the best money I ever spent!
