I have been seeing Dr. Thomas for many years. I appreciate the fact he listens to what I say and his exams are very thorough.

However, after the COVID-19 pandemic, I noticed a significant change in my experience. I increasingly felt like I was just another number rather than a person receiving individualized care. Over time, I found many of our interactions to be lacking warmth and compassion. At times, her communication came across as borderline rude, and I perceived an attitude that felt dismissive and superior rather than caring and respectful. I tolerated these experiences for quite some time because I valued the continuity of my medical care. Unfortunately, I have reached a point where I can no longer ignore how these interactions make me feel. A strong patient-provider relationship should include professionalism, empathy, and human connection. In my experience, those qualities have been missing. In addition, I felt that I was charged for various services in a way that was not always clear or expected. For example, if I scheduled an annual physical, I sometimes had to dispute the visit in order to receive the required preventive care, and then make another appointment to address additional concerns. I was also charged for services I understood to be covered by my insurance. As a result, I either paid for vaccines or received them elsewhere. I am deeply disappointed because I believe every patient deserves to be treated with dignity, kindness, and respect. While I appreciate the medical care I have received over the years, the lack of compassion and meaningful human connection has led me to question whether this practice is still the right fit for me.

After checking in, I filled out the small sticker by the front door with my name -- the space was very limited, so I did my best to write it clearly. A man then came into the waiting room and said, "Cindy, you didn't write your name well -- how were we supposed to find you?" I explained that the writing space was too small, and if there had been more room, I could've written my name more clearly. Instead of understanding, he began arguing with me -- and he was the same person who was about to draw my blood. At that point, I felt uncomfortable and unsafe, so I decided to leave. His rude attitude made me worry he might not handle the procedure gently or professionally. I believe they should provide larger stickers for names so patients can write clearly -- and so no one feels disrespected or mistreated. I'll be getting my blood drawn elsewhere.

With Dr Karoukourtis, Its so hard to get an appointment and after you do, you leave with a bittertaste and not getting any better. For simple headaches he had to refer me to two specialists who are backed up for a month. Why will I pay to see 3 physicians for something as simple as that? Never again. Also did I mention the laters of rude lady office assistants whom you have to bypass before you can speak with your pcp. He never even speaks to you directly but interacts with you through them. My family account with that clinic.

The Dr. herself is not bad, but she has the worst staff ever. Very unprofessional and has no knowledge. I am disappointed in myself that I actually came back here the last time even though I promised myself I would find a new family Dr. The last two times I went I was not even scheduled with the Dr, I got scheduled with the PA. She was not bad either but she seems rather new. The PA was originally going to refer me to a rheumatologist, changed her mind and said she was going to refer me to an ophthalmologist. I called back a few days later and asked to be referred to the rheumatologist instead because I did not want to go to an ophthalmologist for my condition. It took me SEVERAL calls and attempts to get them to refer me to a rheumatologist and they kept saying I do not need to go there and refused to give me information on the Dr. they refer patients out to. I went back and called my optometrist who told me to go to my PCP because she was not able to refer me out to a rheumatologist. After my optometrist contacted Dr. Dinh's staff, they lied and said they already referred me out to a rheumatologist and gave me all the information I needed already. About two weeks later I get a call from a referring office asking me if I would like to schedule my appointment. I went to the appointment and everything, come to find out- I went to an OPTOMETRIST (partially my fault because I assumed it was the rheumatologist)! I did not get referred to an ophthalmologist OR rheumatologist. I did not need to go to another optometrist, I already had one! This was a complete mess and was highly unprofessional of them. At this point I am not sure if I am even going to get referred to a rheumatologist anymore! I would call them, but half of her staff does not know what they're talking about. I really did want to like this office because the Dr. is not bad... but it is hard to. P.S. both of my siblings and parents come here- they all had bad experiences and bad complaints about the staff! The staff really do reflect on the office, the Dr. should consider re-training her staff in my opinion.

Post discharge this doctor didn't even perform a basic physical exam, he just nodded while she described her symptoms. I had to beg for some basic routine labs because oit's clear with the naked eye the enlargement of her thyroid! When I asked for the labs then he said he would refer me to pain dr to do steroid inject. I worked at UTSW and inform him of the correct specialist referral, he argued and insisted we use his long-time friend's clinic, which felt more like a kickback scheme than genuine care. He repeatedly pushed supplements from his inoffics pharmacy (apparently another "partner" of his) and told us not to go to the ER--even when it was clearly warranted--instead directing us to call his office for a CT scan. I had to practically beg for routine labs, and he wanted us to do at his "inhouse labs" even though it was closed. when the nurse finally agreed to write for labs, she "forgot" to send in the orders or follow up with results. His bedside manner is distant and uncaring, and he even wont let you develop Rapport with him. Every visit feels like a waste of time and money. If you want compassionate care, honest referrals, and a doctor who actually examines you, look elsewhere.

After waiting 30 I got up and asked why it was taking so long for me to be called back to see the doctor. I was told that the receptionists were running behind not the doctor. Finally they called me back up to the desk and was given papers to sign. This was about 45 minutes past my appointment time. I guess they all hated me because I complained about the long wait so I was treated rudely again. I went to the urologist because I had three kidney stones. I had to sit in their lobby leaning over in great pain listening to ESPN blast for about one hour and ten minutes. Finally after I was called back and put in a room one hour and fifteen minutes past my appointment time. Saw my doctor and that went fine but when I went to check out I was once again treated rudely by their receptionist. No smile just told me to sit down and wait. I sat for a long time and finally asked if I could leave. She gave me a mean look and said I could leave. Warning!!!!! If you ask them questions they will give you very mean looks. Terrible experience and I've been to this office four times and it's always the same treatment. Doctors a great but office staff is the worst in town.
