Thomas Simon completed the legals for a house sale. I had to continually chase up and keep contact, they were very little help. In the end it turned out the sellers had lied on the documents Thomas Simon wanted them to complete prior to the sale. On my questioning Thomas Simon they agreed the forms had been misleading but stated the defence would be caveat emptor (buyer beware). Why provide all the questionnaires etc you get them to sign if in the end they are not worth anything?
Thomas Simon Solicitors said we had cause to try legal action, but given they appeared to struggle with buying/selling a house I would not use them to pursue more serious legal matters (at considerable further expense). Maybe it should be buyer beware of bad solicitors. We had a junior solicitor handle most of the stuff "under supervision" of a more senior one. I would not use them again. read more
