TL;DR Great Doctor; Unprofessional front office; be careful of surprise bills and being screamed…read moreat. All the stars here are for Dr. Hwang and his medical team. He is kind, patient and a really phenomenal doctor. Unfortunately in the time from my last appointment to this appointment there have clearly been some changes to the front office staff. I write this review reluctantly because I tend to prefer a solution oriented approach but after both what I witnessed while waiting for my appointment and experienced myself it is important that patients approach this practice informed and cautious. While waiting for my appointment I witnessed Sonya, the financial manager, arguing very aggressively with a patient about the practices insurance and billing process. Clearly, the manner in which Sonya was communicating was neither professional nor informative. The patient left frustrated with no reassurance and no resolution to her concerns. My personal experience was completely bizarre and one I hope to never repeat with any medical practice. I have never been screamed at by a professional over any matter; mind you something as inane as an insurance claim. After my recent appointment, I received a text message from this office regarding an outstanding invoice. Naturally assuming this was for the appointment I had just had, I called to follow up with why my insurance had not covered the appointment. I find out that this is from an appointment I had in September of 2025; suddenly I had a bill for $395 I had never seen or been presented with from 9 months ago! Also on a separate equally hilarious and ridiculous note; it's been 9 months but they are going to charge me a late fee of $45 if I don't send them payment in 14 days! About a bill they didn't even know about... Now comes the ridiculous nature of the conversation; while Sonya admitted multiple times in the conversation that this was an oversight by previous individual in her position and also that she had missed this when communicating with me regarding my recent appointment; checking my insurance and confirming all the details... she was doing so while raising her voice and becoming increasingly aggressive and agitated. She hung up on me! I was absolutely not happy but never did I raise my voice, insult or belittle Sonya. I asked repeatedly for the office to take some responsibility and work with me towards resolving this matter and this was not something Sonya had the composure to handle. Sonya did not offer any solutions (like resubmitting the claim to insurance; calling on my behalf; verifying that they had even billed the correct insurance; ect) and acted as if this was just standard practice of the office to make mistakes and oversights the patients problem. Sonya is unprofessional and emotionally unsuited to communicating with patients regarding complex and at times uncomfortable matters. I have been in the medical and medically adjacent field for a combined 17 years and front office staff can either make or break the business of phenomenal physicians.

They are terrible. Do not do business with them! We had an appointment with them and they acted…read morelike we did not confirm appointment; and turned us away
