We opened our business not too long ago and was in need of a company that could help us with some signage for the new office. We were looking for a very large sign that would pop and cover most of a 9 foot long wall. So the sign would be pretty large. I was fortunate enough to meet Rick Hartman at Thomas Printworks. We set up a meeting and discussed what we were looking for in our sign for our business. After discussing with Rick what we were looking for in our design, he brought our ideas back to his team at Thomas Printworks for some brainstorming. To our surprise, Rick came back to us a day later and presented to us their design and ideas of how to make our sign work. He showed us different types of materials that they thought would work the best. He also showed us a few different options in colors and vinyls that could be used to give us the color we wanted. We were looking for a nice gold to pop off of our matte black wall. He even had prices quoted and ready for us for the different options so that we had an idea of what we were going to pay for the sign based on our decision of materials and colors. I have to say that Rick did a great job at communicating with us to make sure that we were on the same page and in agreement with how the sign was going to be constructed and designed. He even made his own suggestions on how to add a little extra dimension to the sign to add some extra pop and a cool shadow like appearance. His thoughts and suggestions were very helpful and paid off. 4-5 days later, an install team showed up to our business and installed out brand new HUGE sign! The install team was very professional. They made sure to not make a lot of noise to disturb our business. They did not make any mess of any sort. And the sign was installed perfectly straight and even. I would have definitely messed up had I tried to install the sign myself. Overall, the experience of working with Thomas Printworks was excellent. They met all our needs and wants for our sign. The sign looks amazing. All of our clients love it. Rick did a great job with providing us with the best customer service. The design team executed the sign perfectly. We would definitely recommend Thomas Printworks for any signage and printing needs in the future. read more

A very long time ago, we used Thomas Reprographics for reducing film and doing specialty film work and they were always great but my boss at the time would say "they're great, but do all the work that you can do in-house since they cost a lot". Cut ahead 20 years, location change, and two name changes later and I used them again a couple of times to make copies and scans and it turns out they are the same - great quality, but a little on the pricey side. I can't stress enough how professional their work is however and my impression is that they specialize in catering to commercial businesses. They do have a self serve type area as well as you'd expect at a Kinkos type place, but I think what sets them apart is their professional graphics design stuff. read more

I called Thomas Printworks to get a couple signs printed. After a brief conversation with Regina, I sent a draft of what I needed. After that....crikets. NO response to phone calls or email messages. I called the main line and they offered no help except "voicemail." How many messages do you have to leave for them to respond to you? So, I called FastSigns...they gave excellent customer service. No job too large or small. LOVE FastSigns! Will not be calling Thomas again, any time soon. read more

Always have to wait for at least 15 minutes for someone to decide to help me. Front desk always empty and none seem to be aware of the amour of people who are waiting to get their work done. I hope this place consider that people have places to and need to get back to their jobs. I don't recommend this place for anyone. If it wasn't close to my school and where I live. read more

Okay to be fair I haven't been into A & E yet because while their yelp* account says they are open until 10pm... They are NOT! They close at 7pm!! So I showed up at 6:55 thinking I had plenty of time and I didn't! And the manager saw me outside, made EYE contact with me and looked away. If she had at least come to the window I would have told her that yelp* says they close at 10pm... People use yelp* a lot! It would be in a businesses' best interest to keep up with their yelp* account! I may come back or I may try the other place mentioned in another review, I am not really sure... read more

Not gonna lie I had a good experience at A & E, the staff was very helpful. However, if you go right down the street to ABC Imaging at Richmond and 610 you will save a ton of money and probably time as well. I went to ABC Imaging and was very impressed by Derrey and Nelly and they completed my order right on the spot and it was a LOT cheaper than the quote I received from A & E on the exact same job. They did a great job on my order and I've since placed a couple more orders. So far I'm too impressed with ABC Imaging to return to A & E at this point. read more

After fighting with printers and print shops ALL year, this is the first place that has made me happy. I've been in school all semester trying to print projects in high quality. I was wasting my time going to FedEx Office when my professor told me that it was a much better investment to check out A&E. I'm glad he said so. I went to the other A&E on Chimney Rock first (review coming shortly) and ended up having to go to this location instead. Although it says Self-Printing, rest assured that you're going to be helped. They explain where and how to get to your files. Which printer to print to, what dimensions you'll need, what paper will be best, etc. I was SO excited when I realized how cheap it was too! I ran into a HORRIBLE situation a couple of weeks ago when I went to FedEx Office and they charged me a fee to open my USB in the first place, then they charged a fee to print each individual page and it was $1 per 8.5x11 color print.....are you kidding me!? At A&E I got an 11X17 color print on glossy 65lb paper for $1.50. My professors are going to be SO impressed by my project this time because the quality is excellent! read more

Great place for any printing need. They will walk you through the proccess if you need help and will have it ready in a reasonable timeframe. My architectural firm uses A&E for all of our printing and I personaly use them for anything I need to do my myself. Inside secret, if you come in use the self serve area they have donuts and coffee in the mornings and soda/water and otis spunkmyer cookies ij the afternoon for free. read more

I used to feel like this was the best of the best. It's definitely declined in all aspects.

Most of the staff here is very helpful, but occasionally a dud is thrown into the mix, so choose wisely! My project was set back 2 hours because "Bob" screwed up the binding... twice in a row! Seriously, if you can't tell if the papers are lined up straight before punching the holes, DON'T PUNCH THE HOLES! On the plus side, A&E has tons of self-service large-scale plotters, printers, and scanners that you won't find at Kinko's. The staff is great about showing you how to use the equipment, and they never end up charging for "test" copies. You pay for what you keep! The store is huge, open, clean, and inviting - down to the complimentary coffee and sodas! Prices are comparable to other copy stores. If it weren't for Bob, this place would get 5 stars. Conclusion: I'd still go out of my way to go to A&E over any other copy store! read more

I haven't ordered anything from them yet, but I did go in to see what they could do for me. Everyone I dealt with was extremely helpful and professional. They even showed me a way to get my job done for less than what I was willing to pay. They didn't have to do that, but the fact that they did shows me they are more interested in providing excellent customer service than making a buck. Although it is quite pricey (hence the 4 stars instead of 5) I had an awesome experience with the staff here and the quality of service. I was getting a huge foam board poster of two ethnic Indian villagers with their faces cutout (to have people put their faces in and take pictures...you get me?) for an event for my sister's wedding, and it was AWESOME. I had the picture taken by the wedding photographers so when blown up it wouldn't be pixelated and the quality was just unparalleled. On top of that, the service was superb. I had kept in touch with the lady assisting me and she kept me informed and was quite patient throughout the whole process. It was a bit pricey at $350 for 5'0 x 6'0, but it was well worth it, and compared to other places I called, it seemed like the best option! read more

Blueline Dept. I have been using this company for over 10 years now. It has been going down hill since it was sold to Thomas. The turn around times have gotten ridiculous. Back in the day Luis and Jeremy used to take care of me and have my stuff out within the hour. (Most of my jobs are 20 sheets or less) A couple of years ago they hired this guy Ryan I think. He has 4-6 hour turn times everyday. There is no negotiating with him. I don't know if he gets a rise out of making us wait but sometimes we need our jobs soon to meet deadlines. Luis and Jeremy are no longer with the company so pretty much Your screwed if you want your stuff quick. I started using ridgeways they are a lot more people friendly. Hopefully Ryan sees this and starts having an attitude to help their clients like these two gentlemen did. read more

After searching through many online services, I came here to print my wedding invitations. Not only did it end up being the most affordable option but the customer service was fantastic. Dikembo is a super nice and understanding guy. He even stayed after their closing time to answer our questions. Very disappointed in A&E Reprographics work on my wedding invitation envelopes. I took them to get addressed so that I wouldn't have to hassle with my non-professional printer and lose my mind printing at home. I was told that it would cost 20 cents per envelope making it $17.20 for the 86. I was charged $25.80. I was also charged $26 for them having to convert my word file into a PDF. When I asked why I wasn't told there was an up charge when I gave them a file he just shrugged his shoulders and said there would be no refund for it. They also ruined 12 or my envelopes and now going through all the addresses it looks like their printer doesn't completely print out J's or T's so I'm sorry to anyone who has a J or T in their names because it was cut off!! Now I need to go purchase more expensive envelopes to reprint... My envelopes are now more expensive than my invites. YAY. read more

I needed a last minute print job done. Came in at noon and settled on the paper for the stickers and was told they would call me around 4. True to their word they did call bit my stickers were on the wrong paper. They corrected the mistake and reran the print and cut them in about 30 minutes. read more

They were able to accommodate last-minute requests cheerfully, and execute them perfectly. The cost was also a third of what we had paid the previous year for the same event. Wanna get ripped off? Then come here. Way overpriced for the quality they give you. It's especially weird that they give you different quotes for same work to be done. And when asked why the difference, it was blamed on last couple of associates making mistakes. Don't believe me, try it and see how much the difference in price changes when you try to get same work done. Been there last 3 times cause it was so close to my business.
