I have moved my heavy equipment 3 times and its always been nerve wracking. I called the mooving company specifically because they had the type of trailer I knew would work best, my equipment cannot be leaned over, it needs to stay upright. I was unbelievably clear about why I was going this route. Although they didnt have enough insurance to cover it, they said they'd bring the trailer. It was only going a mile so I was willing to risk it under those circumstances. Apparently one of their guys was sure he could load it in the box truck at an angle by dragging it up the metal ramp and looping one set of wheels off the edge. This is, im sorry, really stupid. Not only does it weigh almost 600 lbs, it risks coming off the base. When they showed up with the box truck the dispatcher refused to admit she'd made a mistake and the loader made fun of my profession (I work at ups as a dispatcher. He heard ups and said "you just move boxes for a living so how about you let me do this." I guess he doesn't understand irony.) They left in a huff with all my stuff sitting outside my storage unit because I had questioned his massive moving knowledge. Oh excuse me, "mooving." Mess left by them pictured. Make your own decisions i guess, the customer isn't always right but at least dont be rude because someone's worried about the crazy stuff they're trying to do. He kept saying that the high school kid he brought with him was build like a tank so itd all be fine. Not risking tens of thousands of dollars on a hs kid, sorry.

But the four guys who loaded us up did a great job and got it all done on time, despite some threatening weather on Vail Pass. (They clearly know how to read the forecast and time the drive.) Everything happened right on schedule, and now that I have unpacked all the boxes, I can testify that nothing got damaged. Because I was so out of it, a few things got moved that needed to stay at the old house (I wasn't well enough to stay ahead of the packing), but not too much. I sent those few items back to Carbondale with a visiting friend. All in all, a very professional job!

He lied about it because of the broken glass replacement. You cannot trust him with your own belongings or his word. Never again, subpar service, broken promises and broken belongings.

They were supoosed to meet us at 9am. They did call to say they were running behind and would be there at 9:45. They didn't show up until 10:30. Then there was 5 guys instead of the 4 I had asked for. Then we were told because we were moving out of state we would have to pay cash. The owner did say he was only going to charge $100 for just him but we still had to pay the full amount for the other 4 guys in cash on a Sunday! Way to not communicate! Way to sneak in extra charges! I would find other help if I had to do it again!

The prospect of moving an entire business, with a kitchen was super overwhelming. Duke and his team made the whole process so much easier for me. We were bringing over some used furniture, and piecing it together with new furniture and they coordinated everything with the furniture company so that it was as easy as possible on us. They provided us with these amazing totes on wheels to use instead of boxes. If you can use the totes I highly recommend it! The best part though was moving day. The staff that showed up was so polite, and so nice and really took care with our items. I thought for sure it would take them at least two days to get everything moved but they were done in about 3/4 of a day. Overall, they made the experience of moving much easier. U-Haul has dropped the ball TWICE on my family in the last year. The first time when my mom needed…read moreto move a 5-bedroom house across town, and the night before, we were alerted that we would have to use a 13-foot truck instead of the 20+ one we reserved. It took so many more trips and was flat out exhausting and time-consuming doing it this way. The second time, I was moving cross-country and planning on having this truck (hoping the first time they dropped the ball was a fluke), and the night before, we were called and told not only did UHaul not have our truck, but our only other option was driving 30 minutes away, and taking a small truck with a trailer pulled behind it. I don't know about you, but if you've never pulled a trailer behind a giant truck, it's a bit daunting to think about. We called Penske (pretty new to Montrose) and were able to rush there before they closed to secure a truck that would fit our belongings, and canceled UHaul. Ugh it was so stressful to be put in this situation! Here's how it works- basically, UHaul lets you make a reservation, and then when the day comes that you need the truck, they tell you they don't have it! WOW. What's the point of a reservation, then?! hope more truck companies come to town so that UHaul doesn't have a monopoly over this area and take advantage of the people of Montrose not having many other options. Never again will I use this business.
