I run the Meals on Wheels for Mesa County, and we recently moved out of the building we had been in for the past 40 years into a new one. As you can imagine, this was a massive endeavor. The prospect of moving an entire business, with a kitchen was super overwhelming. Duke and his team made the whole process so much easier for me. We were bringing over some used furniture, and piecing it together with new furniture and they coordinated everything with the furniture company so that it was as easy as possible on us. They provided us with these amazing totes on wheels to use instead of boxes. If you can use the totes I highly recommend it! The best part though was moving day. The staff that showed up was so polite, and so nice and really took care with our items. I thought for sure it would take them at least two days to get everything moved but they were done in about 3/4 of a day. Overall, they made the experience of moving much easier. We used Mesa Moving for our long-distance move-in from Los Angeles, in combination with Zippy Shell, to Grand Junction on July 7, 2023. I dreaded the move-in day because of the size of the delivery and the summer heat. They were on time - exactly when they said they'd be. They were open to instructions and followed them. They worked straight through, bringing things in, unwrapping and setting up, only taking a break at the end. They were funny, using humor to work well together and stay coordinated. I had been told good things originally about these guys. Unfortunately I should have researched more. I called to get an estimate, they came out and I was quoted for the full move. ( I had a 2 part move for clarification). They sent me one quote, that stated both my pick up date and second delivery date. I was lead to believe this was my full estimate. Moving day came for part 1, guys were nice but worried me with how rough they were with everything. I had to open a box to make sure bowls weren't broken. Now to the payment, I called to make my payment only to be told I was paying more then I had expected based on my single quote. They proceeded to tell me that it was only for the first part of the move and I would be paying similar amount for my second move. I never received 2 different quotes, let alone informed ahead of time it would be double the estimate. I chose mesa because of quality pricing. But they instead price incorrectly and lie to you. Also being called a liar was a great touch. Never would I ever suggest this company . They handle business poorly. Very disappointed . read more

This is being written from a former employee. ( Josh Fletcher ) I am not here to bash the company, only want known how they really treat their employees. I was hired on 2-8-2022. I was there up until 1-31-2024. This is how the situation played out, even though I know Mesa will do & say anything to down play it. From my original hire date, I was brought on as a Full time employee, it was told signed & dated as such during the interview. I went to work, a year & 1/2 later, I find I was only on as Part time. ( part time precludes you from accruing vacation, sick days, holiday pay, any 401k & any other time that Full time covers ) When I realized the issue I brought it to the attention of the GM, who hired me on & was assured that the oversight had been corrected. Was not happy about losing out on all that time & pay, but was nice enough to carry forward from that point on. A few months went by & unfortunately by the present time, my Mother has passed away on 1-6-2024. As you do, I took bereavement time to handle & take getting nesscary arrangements taken care of. When I got back, I was informed that I had NEVER been put on Full time status. Since part time does not cover bereavement pay. So, I was lied to, mislead & used at the company's leisure. Where I come from & how I was raised, that is unacceptable. They refuse to make it right, do to the bureaucracy & their polices. ​ I was unwilling to work for a Company that promotes trust, loyalty & unity. While at the same time using underhanded practices. If they are willing to do that to an employee, what do you think they will do to you as a customer? As of this date 2-1-2024 I have yet to recieve any compensation. Not for what I feel I'm owed, only what I have worked for & earned. If this is what your looking for in a company, they have it in spades. Just think twice before agreeing or sign anything. You all take care, thanks for taking the time. ​In Regards to what the owner is trying to pass off as legitimate truth is being back & covered by the GM that was not employed at the time of my hire. All documentation would prove their case if we're not for the fact that the previous GM did NOT submit Full time status for my employment, after giving me full assurance that it had been processed through. Like every corporate enterprise hiding behind false statements with the help of yes men to cover its own behind. Pretty sad for a company that promotes, truth & loyalty, but only as long as it does not cut into their profit margin. P.S. Hard to deny the greed instead of compassion I have witnessed first hand. They moved us from Grand Junction to Visalia, Ca. I would not let them move us across the street now! We had a nice home with nice furniture. It was a total move including all of our home furnishings and personal possessions. The original estimate was way under what we finally had to pay. THEY DROPSHIPPED OUR LOAD TWICE!! This means they loaded our home furnishings into an old old moving van (I should have known something was wrong then.) and unloaded it all at their warehouse, unwrapping all of our furniture. That is so the independent contractor actually hauling it to California can inspect and document damages and wrap it in THEIR blankets. It all gets handled over and over again by different movers/loaders and piled however it will fit into another trailer. They then DROPPED it all in a warehouse in Mira Loma, unwrapped and piled up. Another contractor re-packed and re-loaded it all in his van and brought it to us. It was the EIGHTH DAY of our contract where they were supposed to have our furniture delivered and they called and said they would be late and would get there at 5 pm! We agreed to let them and now I've run out of space to finish. read more

I have done multiple big moves over the years, and this was the worst experience I have ever had. First, I was unsure of the length of time I needed my things in storage. I mentioned that the United folks in Hawaii had given me a month free storage when I moved to Utah. Mesa reluctantly gave me 21 "free" days. My belongings were put into storage on 6/27, meaning my last "free" day would be 7/18. On 7/11 I notified Mesa of my new address. They told me my belongings would not get loaded onto a truck until 7/20. They then informed me that I would be charged for a whole month of storage because I was going two days over the "free" days. Huh? Why not charge me for two days? Or, is this a way to get paid for the "free" days they reluctantly gave me! Second, when it came to make the payment for the move, I was told I had to pay for the estimated costs and then they would deduct any overages. Every other move I have always been given a final bill before delivery. An estimate is an estimate, not a final number. Strange way to do business. Third, when my things were delivered to me, I had so many broken items it was sad. There were 3 items that I was able to make a claim on, including a high value (clearly marked) limited edition print. It was marked "do not lay flat". It was laying flat and was crushed. Not to mention ripped. Then there were the countless things that were smashed or broken, that I cannot put a $ price too, it was the memories that have been taken from me. I definitely would not recommend Mesa moving company. They are unprofessional and obviously don't care about their customers belongings. read more

We had a very good experience with this company. We moved into our condo in GJ after our tenants left. For some reason, the tenants moved the king sized bed from the upstairs bedroom to the downstairs living room floor. Given my wife and I are nearly 70, it was impossible for us to get the bed back up stairs. We called a few movers and no one could help for a week. I called Mesa Moving and explained our situation. They were very nice over the phone and said they'd try to help. Got a call back a few hours later with a scheduled house call for the following morning. Special thanks to movers Jeffery and Steven. Professional, friendly and got the job done lightening fast. And the dispatcher Becky was a delight to deal with. read more

We used Mesa Moving and Storage for our move to Pueblo. We have so many items that are broken or missing. It took them six weeks to get our dishes to us because they forgot to pack them! When my dishes arrived, two bowls, a coffe cup and drinking glass was broken. My garden cart was also left out of the move, that took six weeks to get here. I just had a claims person come by to look at all of the broket items. That took six weeks to happen. We haven't finished unpacking because we have been waiting on someone to see how our things were packed. I paid for professional packers, I got high school boys who couldn't care less about packing things. They threw things in boxes, they loved the 4' tall wardrobe boxes to throw things in. An Afghan my mom crocheted for me was used to wrap an antique medicine cabinet. A quilt my mom made and my grandpas horsehair blanket were thrown in with items from the shed. They are in a zippered plastic bag, but I haven't unpacked the 4' tall box to get to them. This is the WORST moving company I have ever dealt with. I have called Jim, the terminal manager twice. The movers went out of their way to ensure that we were satisfied including willingness to rearrange items more than once, and being extra careful not to damage items or our house. I paid over 12K to move from Colorado to Virginia. My items were loaded from a storage unit (which Mesa moved these items into in the first place Feb. 2021 and I never moved or touched anything in there until load date of Aug. 4, 2021- I actually rented another/different storage unit for additional items to be moved so that I wouldn't have to go into the first unit) onto a smaller moving truck and items were tagged/numbered with 2 different colored tags bc the mover lost the first roll/colored tags, then taken to Mesa warehouse and unloaded, then some of it was put onto another larger truck with 2 other families' stuff. The truck broke down and the stuff sat on the side of the interstate for over a week, in the rain until a replacement truck picked it up and delivered this portion to me- linens taken out of boxes and stuffed in between furniture (and left dirty, wet & damaged), lots of broken items; most tags came off so I couldn't do a real inventory, but I did note items that were damaged: the rest of the stuff eventually got packed into 2 wooden crates and 1 cardboard crate which was shipped by other truck/s and I received late and these had even another different colored tag on them. The items in these crates were crushed and damaged, and the mover said to note and sign on the paperwork for the claim. When going through the claims process they said it was noted that certain things were dented/damaged, which was not the case- I noted and signed about dented/damaged items while they were unpacking. My items were manhandled atleast 5 times- storage to warehouse, warehouse to truck; warehouse to crates, crates to trucks, truck to delivery truck, then delivered. The claimed process took forever and they denied about 3K worth of damage stating that they were dented/damaged when picked up. I tried to do mediation as I was told it was free, but then found out after starting the process that it would be another $300. I just gave up. Suggestions: Take a photo of every individual item before they take it; Make sure you have them weigh your move as soon as they pick it up and go with them to verify. (they charged me $ 1.20 per pound to move for the estimated weight and only gave me $0.32 cents per pound reimbursement for underweight- not very fair! Get the names of every person who touched/moved your items. Pack things in airtight bags if possible. DON'T TRUST MESA MOVING & STORAGE. If I could rate them a negative 10 that is what I would give them for a cross country move. read more

Contract # U802-1145-7 Mesa was contracted to move me for a new job opportunity. They ran out of room on the truck and left personal belongings valued over $2,500 at the original address. When I put in a claim they denied it as there were no inventory tags issued. Of course no tags were issued....THEY NEVER LOADED IT. Do yourself a favor and tell your company to use someone else. Sheridan, our move coordinator, was very attentive and made sure we were happy every step of the way. Any questions we had she responded within a half hour via email; any voice mails were promptly returned. All of our household goods were packed well and nothing was broken or damaged in any way. This was for a company move and we should have done our due diligence on Mesa's reputation before agreeing to their moving our things. It was nearly impossible to keep track of everything that was packed when you have several men in different rooms of the apartment packing up everything all at the same time and tagging them off on the inventory list. Before leaving the apartment, just about everything was taken away and we wrongfully assumed that it was all properly recorded on the inventory list. We have several things missing from this move and because movers are only required to stay until furniture is reassembled and everything is unloaded from the moving vans, I signed away their completion without anticipating there were things actually missing inside of the boxes. Yes, I signed that the boxes that were in the van checked off to the boxes on the inventory list. BUT I also assumed that what was IN the boxes were all of the things that were packed away from our previous apartment. Mesa's response to our claim was that everything was checked off as [if] all items [were] received, and our next steps will be to go through arbitration. Unless I monitored every separate thing packed away in each box and made sure they were correctly recorded on the inventory list, how could I ensure that everything was packed away appropriately and checked off as being received appropriately? The moving process does not account for this at all. It would take too much time and effort to make sure everything is taken care of, but as a result, things got lost, but what is more disappointing is Mesa's response. read more

WORST move ever. They came out to take inventory. Then the movers showed up at 8am when the call THE DAY BEFORE said they would come 2-3pm. They had zero information about inventory or packing supplies that I was promised in the completely pointless/time wasting meeting earlier in the week. The mover were. So. Slow. Seriously, I watched one of them carry 1 small lamp and nothing else to the truck. Then I was told it would be delivered the next week on 12/9. So I was curious as to why I didn't get a call the day before with my time. So I called and they told me they couldn't get it to me until 12/12 and they put b/w 12/9-12/12. So apparently I'm just supposed to live without my things for 3 days. Terrible with communication. Inefficient movers. Avoid this company at all costs. read more

I HIGHLY recommend this company. I originally hired a moving broker because they quoted me a very cheap price. But it was too good to be true. As moving day got closer, the broker found ways to charge me more and became very shady. The day before my move, the moving broker told me they couldn't come for five more days. So I called Duke over at Mesa Moving, and he helped me right away. He was able to get movers at the house the very next day. They were professional, reliable and very kind. They understand moving is a stressful process, and do everything they can to make it as smooth as possible. This company was worth EVERY penny. I was really impressed with these people. I had a small shipment to move from a difficult mountain location in Colorado to an urban address in San Francisco. The logistics were difficult on both ends, but the two crews I worked with were cheerful and swift. And the background support crew kept me advised of every step in the process. The packers arrived just when they said they would. I have had very different experiences in the past with other companies. This outfit is surprisingly good. read more

Very tough move with Mesa. Damages to our furniture were extensive. They just didn't care when they moved it. We paid for the extra insurance but it made no difference. Overall, Mesa did a great job. All of those involved were extremely courteous and accommodating. Having moved many times, I can attest that the packer was exceptional. Everything was very carefully packed and well labelled. The estimator was also very knowledgeable and thorough. Finally, the delivery crew were extremely polite and accommodating. The only minor frustration was on communication regarding the delivery. it was not very proactive, until we called and left messages. However, again, this was only a minor inconvenience. read more

Contacted Mesa about some help unloading the van. They were quite uncooperative and rude. They wouldn't actually quote a price and didn't seem interesting in doing business with you unless you're paying for a full service move. They referred me to some charity outfit. read more

Worst move I've ever had which includes a dozen moves over 26 years while in the Army. Packers were awful and untrained resulting in many broken items. Loaders damaged items in the house while loading. They put items in temp storage in order to await long haul transport that hadn't already been scheduled and lost track of our ladder. Delivery was about a week late. The UNITED agent's driver they used at the destination was rude and not careful with the paper work resulting in denied claims for lost items despite the copies of the documentation I had. It appeared the destination driver checked off an item as received that was missing despite telling my wife that they would put in a trace for the item and his acknowledgment that it was missing. read more

Used the company for loading and storing complete household. All went well until I was ready to schedule moving to another state (430 mile distance). Gave me a 7 day window for delivery, then a 5 day window, and could not or would not do better. When I searched for other movers locally and at destination, I found that not only was Mesa Moving between $300 and $800 more expensive, but a 2-3 day window was no problem for the other companies. Upon receiving my household goods at their storage site, several pieces of furniture had been damaged to an extent that is not covered by the company's standard $0.60/lb insurance. This furniture had previously been moved in ship container from Europe, on to MD, SD and CO. No damage there. Not so lucky with this company. If you use them, I strongly recommend the additional damage insurance - you may need it. read more

Started out good. I needed my things packed and moved to storage. I was working out of state but my neighbor could be there. They told me they had climate controlled storage and I could pay them about 28 more a month to use their storage instead. I agreed. I told them the only things I care about are my saddle collection and my bureau from my great, great Aunt. After 6 months of them passing the buck on seeing my things, because as it turns out it's crates of storage stacked upon crates, not self storage where you have a lock and key and go in and out. I finally threatened a court order to get my things and stopped paying and started filing complaints with Consumer Protection, BBB etc. When they finally let me see my things, they were roughly strewn all over a porch. My saddle was torn up, and my great great Aunts bureau had a foot torn off. I took pics on site and emailed it to them as instructed. When I finally found someone to fix the saddle, it cost 725.00. I sent them the same photo I took on site as a reminder and copies of the receipt. They sent back an email of word salad, of course refusing to pay for the damages caused. The saddle had the fleece torn off. Locating someone with that skill is rare. I ended up taking it all the way to Laramie. I still have not found someone who can fix my great, great Aunts Bureau. read more
