She is thorough and communicative, responsive to my concerns (and those of my husband, regarding me =) ... She's respectful... explaining to me what she's thinking, considering, proposing, assuring that I understand my health situations, options, and what she recommends. She doesn't push me but she will tell me if she thinks something is important for me to do, and why. She gives me the information I need to inform my decisions and I trust her advisements, perspective, and expertise and I feel respected and cared for by her AND her team... who are wonderful as well. I have been so well cared for by everyone in her office and most especially by Dr. Van Dissel. I recommend her highly.

Paying physician $200/$300 for them to say you can buy over the counter medication. I will be contacting medical board about the level of service that I received. I have a permanent, 24/7 roar in my left ear and am 40% deaf in that ear for life because of her incompetence. This is not a hot-headed review: this happened 9 years ago, but I feel the one thing good that can come out of this is for me to warn as many people as I can about her. I came to her when I suffered from a bad head cold that turned into an ear infection - I was dizzy, couldn't hear - I was told by my friends in healthcare I needed to get it looked at right away. She was substituting for my regular doctor, and just did not take me seriously, sent me home. Symptoms worsened and I went back in; again. By this time I was really worried - I asked for a referral to an ENT as she seemed completely to blow me off. She refused (this was an HMO - which I will never again participate in). On my third visit I told them I would not leave the office without an ENT referral. By then it was too late. The ENT I finally got to see told me if she had sent me in right away, I would not have ended up with the deafness or the tinnitus. I did some research - she got her MD late in life and I don't know if this had anything to do with it but she definitely is not doctor caliber. Her uncaring, cavalier attitude back then impacts my quality of life every day.
