Another insurance issue. We were texted today, 3/20/2025 about an outstanding balance due from several months ago, in September 2024. My wife verified they accepted our insurance when she scheduled the appt on August 8, 2024, and again at the front desk before the appt on Sep 17, and verified that there were no extra payments needed beyond our two insurances (health and dental). At our previous dentist we only paid for fluoride applications. Beacon hadn't sent any bills or reached out to us since the dental cleanings 6 months ago. Now Beacon is saying we owe more than $1100. We called our dental insurance today and sure enough, they are out of network. Cannot be trusted. United Concordia and BCBS Insurance both say they have to honor their word. Call your insurance first and get anything in writing before any treatment is administered. read more

Very friendly staff. Very nice office. Cleanings are great. My husband has had problems with the crown he got it's going on 7 months. My main complaint is that for 2 years I kept asking why I had to pay out of pocket why is every treatment so expensive. Turns out they were out of network. They will say, "we take your insurance " or "that's how it's done here in Texas" come to find out I had paid hundreds for my kids unnecessarily. I would consider a class action lawsuit if someone started one. read more

Beacon Dentistry and their employees are awesome. I had gone to several dentists over many years to try and have a front tooth crown replaced with no luck. The tooth under neath was crooked causing the crown to be very large and bulbous and unlike my other teeth. All of the other dentists were only interested in selling me Invisalign. I even tried to go the implant route but it was cost prohibitive. Finally I met with Dr Collin's and he examined me and took his time telling me the options. He was confident in his abilities and with today's technology and materials used with crowns that he could help me with the results I was after. After removing the original crown, he assessed the tooth and decided it was best to replace that crown but also apply a crown on the tooth next to it as well, which I agreed. He was able to make enough adjustments and create the crowns so they looked like natural teeth, and I couldn't be happier. I can't say enough about Beacon Dentistry, Dr Collins, the hygienists and dental assistants, they're all excellent at what they do and make for a wonderful atmosphere. I'll start off by saying that everyone was friendly and the care received was just fine. Unfortunately AFTER our insurance was verified by the office staff and my wife and I received 2 purely routine cleanings, we were mailed a bill for $500 and informed that we were out of network with them. My wife and I had 2 separate appointments over a week apart and we were not informed at any point that we were out of network. We have talked to the front desk and were informed there is nothing they can do. Judging by the reviews I'm reading here it is only fair to conclude that either someone is not doing their job appropriately, or there is just blatant dishonesty occurring here, I mean, who actually has to pay for routine cleanings? My wife and I have worked in the emergency department for years, and insurance verification is a routine process that generally only takes a few minutes, what's happening here is not right. read more

I have been going to Beacon Dentistry for 2 years now, and I can't say enough good things about them. The front desk staff is inviting and friendly, the Dental Hygienists are knowledgeable and courteous. Alisa, a Registered Dental Assistant, is my personal favorite. I forgot the the Hygienist's name that I saw yesterday but I really liked her too. She had my teeth all cleaned in no time. Dr. Johannsen is my usual Dentist and he is so upbeat and caring. And I finally got to meet Dr. Novak yesterday - what can I tell you? He is a hoot!! I love going there for my dental needs. Everything is so clean and organized. I let my Hygienist know the one of the fabric lobby chairs had an odor and she promptly told the person in charge to have that taken care of. They offer an In-House dental plan if you, like myself, do not have one through work or another source. It is only $39 per month but i just pay half ($234) every 6 months. Includes annual X-rays, 2 cleanings, discounts on dental work that arises, etc...Very affordable. Ensure you check that these thieves are "in network". Do the homework yourself because they WILL NOT TELL YOU if they are not. If you simply ask if they accept your insurance, the answer will be yes. However, most likely you will not be "in network" and the charges and fees are astronomical. The most expensive dentist I have ever been to. My wife and I both went for a cleaning, exam, X-rays. I asked if they accepted our insurance and the answer was YES. We each paid about $200 after the appointment, then I got a call saying we owe about $200 more EACH. Yes that's right, roughly $800 to get our teeth cleaned. I didn't even talk to the Dr for more than 2 minutes. My teenage daughter got her braces for almost as much as I got charged for cleanings! OUTRAGEOUS! Watch out this establishment will take advantage of you not knowing how insurance works and charge you to even take a breathe inside their office. I didn't even get a free tooth brush haha! This place needs to be exposed for the thieves they are... I wonder how many other people "just go with it" and accept the astronomical charges from Novack. Bottom line: 1. THE MOST EXPENSIVE DENTIST IN WEATHERFORD, TX. 2. NO MORALS. THEY WILL GLADLY STEAL YOUR MONEY AND JUSTIFY IT WITH A SMILE! Again people... as stated in previous reviews... as directly as you can, ask if they are in network with your insurance and what the estimated cost will be BEFORE they touch you. My daughter did not and they took advantage of that... $250 dollars from a struggling college student that is trying to navigate this world on her own. BEACON, you knew better... you were extremely unethical in your practice today. You skirted the truth by saying "IF we aren't in network with your insurance, you will be responsible for the charges." You never told her that you were not in network and you never gave her the estimate of what her cost would be. It's been downhill since starting to go there and they think nothing of attacking your character or accounting practices if not aligned with theirs. After 3 months of battling a 'sinus infection' with my Doctor (who I will never go back to) I finally went to Dr. Novak to check out and I had an infection in my back molar, needing a root canal. Three days late I am a new person. Not the first time in five years he's corrected a health problem the doctors couldn't identify! Dr. Novak is a sunshiney kind of guy and has a way of making you feel comfortable and at ease. Well, with a little drugs on my part -- I had to get a procedure and I am notoriously anxiety ridden for anything involving a drill omg. I'm getting anxiety right now writing about it. But he hooked me up with some good meds and the entire procedure was a non-issue. Everybody in his office -- especially Dr. Novak -- seem like they love their jobs and especially the patients. They sincerely cared about my experience and for that I am very grateful. read more

I Do Not recommend Doctor Novak. I went in a few years ago needing a filling. They suggested I go ahead and fill two more near the first one , I agreed. But I didn't realize my recently broken nose was going to obstruct my breathing ,So yes ,it was tough. But it was what it was. That's not the issue I have with him. The issue Is the fillings were too high and were extremely painful. I went in a total of three times to have just a bit of the height taken off. Well the wonderful Doctor Tom Was NOT happy, NOT Happy At ALL. The last time I went in and Hollowed OUT the fillings-Changing my bite entirely. Now that side Isn't hitting like it should So Of Course teeth have dropped down -Lovely Yes ,But it Gets EVEN better ,while I had noticed my front canine on that side is not in line with my other teeth BECAUSE my lower canine has been putting pressure on it pushing it out. So my current dentist Suggested my going in to an orthodontis. Good Stuff -Huh? No ,I DO-NOT recommend this dentist. he is not kind and will get angry if you come back with a painful filling too many times. read more

One word...FANTASTIC! I relocated to the area three year's ago and knew it was time to find a lifetime dentist, tired of making the drive to my Waxahachie dentist. I happened to meet Dr. Novak. D.D.S. at a local downtown establishment, following a downtown special event, the night my veneer fell off into my plate of nachos. Luckily Dr. Novak, had introduced himself to me earlier. I called his office on the following morning, Sunday, and guess what? Not only did he return my call, on a Sunday I was in the Dental Chair at 8:00 a.m., at 326 South Waco Street, Weatherford, Texas the following Monday morning. God is good! Dr. Novak had a full slate of appointments, but he was kind enough to fit me in, knowing I was headed out of town, to a conference. Not impressed. Was told they were in network. I made the apt. Took weeks to get in. I filled out the paperwork online. Got my previous dentist to send xrays over. They knew who my dental insurance was. I get there for the long awaited appointment and guess what? Now they tell me they're not an in network provider. My cost would be more. One thing I hate the most in life is going to the dentist! I haven't been in a long time because I freaking hate going. Today I had no choice. I had to go get a filling fixed. I've known about Dr. Novak in Weatherford for a long time but I never had the pleasure of meeting him. After todays visit, in my opinion, he is by far the best dentist in the DFW area! Went to Dr. Tom Novak because a had a cavity that was very bad on one of my teeth near the front. Not a good place to have one. I was afraid the tooth was going to have to be pulled with what little tooth there was left, I did not think he could make a crown. To me, it looked like it was impossible to save. Much anxiety went into the fact that he might have to pull it. Dr. Novak worked very hard on my tooth, along with a root canal and made me a temporary crown. And to my luck, he is a perfectionist and my temporary tooth looks absolutely amazing! I can't believe he was able to do it. His office staff was very nice and helpful. Can't wait to get the real crown in. I will be back to finish up my treatment plan he suggested. I owe my smile to him! read more

I went to this dentist on a recommendation from my boss. I was told by the dental assistant that I "have good teeth, but have had sh*tty dental work done." I was told I had a cavity at this time and scheduled my filling for a week or so later. Dr. Johannsen did my filling and when the numbness wore off I could not eat on that side of my face from the pain of chewing. I called the office and was told that it could take a few days for this to go away and if not, call back. So I called and went in, he pressed and pushed... shaved down the surrounding teeth claiming that it could have changed my bite. After SIX WEEKS of weekly appointments (and driving my toddler 35 miles one way for his grandmother to watch him for these appointments), they finally scheduled me with Dr. Novak, who within 5 minutes, told me that my filling was not set properly. So for six weeks I was unable to eat on one side of my mouth because of their "sh*tty dental work." Now a year and a half later, they still contact me for scheduling but I will not be back. read more

I must say Dr. Doolittle an the staff were amazing. I was well taken care of from the moment I walked through the door. She explained everything in detail before the procedure an put my mind at ease during the process. Dr. Doolittle even had her tech support my jaw an then applied pressure to both sides of my gums to minimise the hole. There was no pain an the pressure was gone. Let me first say, best cleaning I've had. Jana was amazing. I had to have a filling fixed it was minimal but the bill was not. Before I went in I told them I was concerned about the billing and cost for visit. They said we had coverage and shouldn't be a problem. Dr. Novak is a talented Dentist. Repaired a filling without any shots, in and out in 20 minutes. Just like the other reviews I experience bad billing. I was told what my estimated expenses would be, was given a print out, had the procedures, then charged more than the expected amount after my visit and said this was my portion. Then I was charged again when my insurance only paid a small amount. Crazy. Between me and my insurance I paid over $200 for a cleaning with Xrays. As much as I liked the cleaning I won't be returning. This dentist office is too pricey for my budget. I also don't like the way they handled the expenses. Felt like a bait and switch. Dr. Novak is fast but doesnt have a clue about pain. Front desk and billing staff are very nice. So after Doc saws my tooth in half and extracts it, he asked if i needed anything for pain, i stated yes, the dental assistant says "he already has some" which was not true. Upon arrival I told the dental assistant i had been taking over the counter tylenol but it was not effective to which she had no reply but after the doc asked about it then all the sudden she has a reply. And the doc listen to her INSTEAD OF THE PATIENT ! So what did $ 3 8 0 get me .... 1 extraction, no pain meds not EVEN antibiotics for the infection that the dentist and the dental assistant told me i had. Good way to kill someone and have them suffering in the process. The ONLY reason i gave 2 stars is because the front desk and billing staff are very nice. read more
