I came to Sol Radiology Victorville for a routine neck x-ray. I have had multiple imaging studies…read morehere without copays, including an MRI, so I was surprised to be charged $22 at the kiosk with no explanation. I contacted the billing department to understand what this charge was for. Instead of a straightforward answer, I spoke with two separate representatives who were rude, condescending, and aggressive on the phone. When I asked for a supervisor, I was told no. This was deeply unprofessional, especially when my only concern was understanding why this visit differed from my previous visits. Fortunately, I eventually spoke with Dustin, the lead supervisor in the scheduling department, who investigated and resolved the issue in five minutes. He explained that the kiosk had failed to process my insurance correctly and that the charge was their error. He apologized for how I was treated and stated that he would get management involved and provided his contact information incase I don't get my refund from this visit. Here's what troubles me: a billing kiosk error is understandable; staff rudeness and refusing a supervisor escalation is not. The fact that a scheduling supervisor could resolve this quickly while billing department staff gave me the runaround suggests a significant problem with how the billing department handles patient concerns. Dustin demonstrated exactly how patients should be treated, with respect and efficiency. The billing department should learn from his example. I'm posting this review because other patients deserve to know that when something goes wrong, Sol Radiology may not handle your concerns professionally. That's a serious issue for a healthcare provider and I will be looking into making sure my family and I do not need to come to this company any longer for radiology services. We will take our business elsewhere.

I have been a patient of the High Desert Skin Center for about 8 years now. They have been with me…read moreand my family through it all. Teen son acne, allergic reaction care, skin cancer prevention and just general skin health care. This may sound ridiculous but they feel like an extended family, the office personal are so inviting and remember me and family everytime, same with any techs they have and ofcourse the doctor. I always feel so well taken care of and that there is a genuine quality here you can't find in many places if at all anymore. As an older mom now, I also like to indulge in things like Botox, I feel much better getting this done from a doctor than a pop up type Botox environment. If something was to go wrong or to have a reaction, a doctor is much more capable in that situation. Highly recommend if you need dermatology care in the High Desert area.

The Bad You might have to wait a couple months if you wish to get an appointment with Dr. Ashtiani. The UGLY ...and it is ugly You will wait, and wait, and wait, and WAIT in the office for an ABSURD amount of time before they call you back...and if you are unlucky like me...they might not even call you back. For my second appointment, I called to let them know I would be ten minutes late, they were cool with it. I arrived ten minutes late and had to wait one hour and twenty minutes to be called back for a quick test. No problem, it was my fault for arriving late...I thought. BUT TODAY, oy vey!! I arrived early for my 3pm appointment. At 4:42pm I see a hall light go off and a staff member leave...I decide I better go to the counter as it seems they may have forgotten about me???? I go to the front desk and ask the girl if I should reschedule my appointment (since they close at 5pm and I was there for a stress test which apparently takes some time). She says, "ok" and makes a new appointment for me in two more weeks . She NEVER asked why I wanted to reschedule and never apologized for my wait. After sitting in the waiting room for ONE HOUR AND FORTY SEVEN MINUTES I would think they would have some sort of empathy for the patient that just waited for nearly two hours for an appointment. Typical high desert service. I was so happy to find a doctor in the high desert that had more than two stars... sadly, this place is just like the rest of the medical offices up here. They don't give a S... about you or your time. I hope the office manager reads this and gets some customer service training for the person at the window that didn't give a crap about my exasperatingly long wait... the only thing she was worried about was getting to leave in 18 minutes. If you have a straightforward, mild condition, Dr. Karnani is perfectly polite. However, if you…read morehave a complex autoimmune presentation or a severe flare, I cannot recommend him. He lacks the clinical curiosity and willingness to investigate complex symptoms when standard, basic lab work comes back normal. During a severe autoimmune flare involving intense, bone-deep pain (7-9/10) in my left femur, Dr. Karnani repeatedly dismissed my symptoms as simple muscle aches and told me to take ibuprofen. He stated that steroids are only to be used when absolutely necessary. When I noted that a previous, undocumented response to steroids he had provided for flare-related urticaria was suggestive of a systemic inflammatory issue, he initially refused a prescription, later calling in a 10mg dose of Prednisone that was inadequate and left me shaking from pain for a week. When his office finally saw me in person, I took immediate action and explicitly terminated our patient-provider relationship, notifying him that I had already contacted UCLA and would no longer require his services because he was not listening to me. Only after I fired him, and after he looked through a medical packet I had compiled myself, did he casually state that my symptoms matched a "rare complication associated with lupus"--yet he explicitly refused to tell me what that complication was. Instead of practicing medicine, he chose to focus on my tone, weaponizing my medical diagnosis by claiming my SLE medications were "impacting my mental health" because I used "the F word" exactly once out of unmanaged physical pain and frustration. He then claimed he was refusing to see me, attempting to twist the situation after I had already broken off the relationship. The most alarming, retaliatory failure of care occurred later. Even though I had already terminated our relationship, his office called to direct me to stop taking my maintenance Plaquenil entirely for a month until my UCLA intake. When I informed them I would not be taking medical advice from a doctor I had just fired, Dr. Karnani actively went into the system and revoked my pharmacy refills for Plaquenil. Cutting off a vital maintenance medication for a patient known to experience recurrent flares in retaliation for being dropped is unethical, dangerous, and could have triggered a catastrophic systemic flare. Fortunately, UCLA immediately recognized the risk and issued a 12-month replacement prescription. It took three months and multiple high-dose methylprednisolone pulses to get the femur pain under control. While Dr. Karnani insisted my labs were normal (other than a relatively low 1:80 ANA) and characterized my illness as mild, UCLA took less than a month to run advanced diagnostics that clearly indicate a systemic issue, and I am now aware of treatments I may come to need, such as IVIG. The lack of adequate treatment provided by Dr. Karnani was one of the most harrowing medical experiences I have had in the 15 years I have known I am sick. A pleasant bedside manner cannot replace a lack of investigative drive or professional ethics. If you need a rheumatologist who looks for "zebras" and actually listens to patient history when standard blood work is quiet, go elsewhere.
