Review of Highland dental at 740 Easy Highland Phoenix AZ…read more Unfortunately this dental office is deceptive to its patients and I would suggest you stay away from them. I was a patient in this office for years when the Dentist was Dr, Scott Keith and they were a marvelous office in every way. Then he sold the practice and the new owner became deceptive to patients. I had new dental insurance and I called the office and talked with Nicole to confirm they took this insurance. My primary interest was in getting my teeth cleaned but they told me I needed to have a dental exam in conjunction with the cleaning. I asked Nicole to check with the Insurance company to be sure that the cleaning as well as the exam were going to be covered. She guaranteed me that the insurance company had assured her twice that this was the case. She did this twice on the phone and again in person when I arrived at the office. I showed up for the Appt and they took x-rays and then the dentist came in to show me a cavity. Then I was escorted to the front desk where a treatment plan was presented to me that included this cavity and. a "deep cleaning". There was going to be a charge for the "deep cleaning" of hundreds of Dollars. I asked to return to the hygienist so that she could complete the basic cleaning. I was told no. Then the hygienist finally came out and also said NO. I did not get the service I had made the appt for. To me this is the basic "bait and switch" and it is quite clear they never intended to complete the basic cleaning that I had made the appt for. and clearly intended to upsell me to a "deep cleaning" There are many dental offices in the greater Phoenix area who are honest and treat patients with respect. This is not one of them

5/16/2019 Update I have continued to go to this office…read morebecause it's close to my home and they offer later hours. My experience has improved and I'm much happier as a patient. I like that the hygienist took the time to teach me how to properly use my new electric toothbrush as incorrect usage was causing me some issues. I feel much more comfortable being a patient now. Previous post: I have tried several times to respond to the survey request that I received after my visit, but it always seems to have "technical issues", so here is my summary... Everyone was nice, but I didn't like that I made an appointment to see one doctor and was switched to another without any notice. I was also surprised to be told I needed so many fillings when I've only had 1 other in my life. I read a review that this was a concern of another patient, so that raises my concern that maybe I didn't really need all of them. I also asked about braces and was told that I would be scheduled for a consultation with the orthodontist, but that never happened. Lastly, I was a little surprised not to be given a toothbrush, toothpaste and floss. That seems to be pretty standard and most dentist offices, and as this was my first visit, this was disappointing. I mentioned when I scheduled my visit and when I came in for my appointment that I was wanting to switch from my old dentist; I would have thought knowing this would have alerted staff to be a little more attentive to things, but that wasn't the case. All in all, everyone was nice and the office is lovely, but I'm not sure that makes up for the slightly disorganized nature of how things seem to run. I will say, I've only been once, so I suppose it's possible they were having an off day.

I had a very disappointing experience with this dental office. The fees for services were…read moresignificantly higher than any other provider I've visited, and unfortunately, the quality of care did not reflect those costs. My insurance was billed an unusually large amount for a routine cleaning, which nearly exhausted my benefits in a single visit. I returned for a recommended treatment plan, expecting better results, but ended up paying a substantial amount out of pocket. Unfortunately, the work performed by Dr. Yip did not meet expectations, and I ultimately had to seek care from my previous dentist to have the issue properly corrected. Based on both the cost and the quality of care, I would not return or recommend this office.

My last appointment Dr. Dixson is in the next exam room over chatting up a college sports coach,…read moretalking about recruiting and scouting for the better part of 15 minutes. The assistant finally must go pull him away. I had requested a new night guard as my dog ate my old one, so he fit me for that. I was also there to have my daytime guard refit. This was the third time I have had to come in because this daytime guard has never fit properly. It hurts my teeth and causes headaches - the very opposite of its intended purpose. Dr. Dixson had to be reminded by his assistant about this and it was as though she had asked a child to share their favorite candy. He started huffing and puffing and of course rushed the job saying, "That's about the best possible fit as a dentist." He went back to his sports conversation with the college coach. Upon arriving home, I retried the daytime guard with the same result: tooth pain and headache. I was so frustrated that I just chucked the stupid thing in the trash. $495 for a daytime guard that never fit and will never fit. Today I arrived a few minutes early to my appointment to pick up my night guard. At exactly twenty minutes past my scheduled appointment time, I still had not been seen and decided to walk out. It is clear Dr. Dixson cares more about funding the next addition to his lake house than his patients. My message to Dr. Dixson: You can have the $495 and the night guard. It will likely fit as poorly as the last one I threw away. Stuff it.
