Endodontists are much faster at root canals and when you have Copd and myalgia fast is very helpful. It took her 3 appointments and a total of 8 hours (4,then 2 then 2) to complete these procedures. Also she couldn't keep me numb, as I kept telling her, and kept jabbing me in the roof of my mouth which was very painful. By the end of the 3rd one I could barely get my twisted body out of the chair or walk. Then my oxygen started dropping and I was having sharp pains when breathing from ribs being out of place and an extremely tight diaphragm. As a result I landed in the ER, then hospital for over 2 days and had to be on oxygen. Needless to say, it was all very anxiety producing, confirmed by the doctor as contributing to the episode. If you are considering a dentist...I WOULD KEEP LOOKING.

Having trouble finding reliable dental care in Florida, I contacted Dr. Ukena because I was at a loss of what to do with my teeth. I had moved from SGF 5 years previously but needed a trustworthy, fair, intelligent provider and phoned Dr. Ukena to see if he would do a consult. He immediately asked for my previous records for review, discussed a potential plan with me over the phone and truly relieved my stress. I made the trip to see Dr. Ukena and his staff who took care of absolutely EVERYTHING including scheduling 2 additional appointments (Pam, Jessica, Tina & Mel - thank you). My old trusty grill has been given new life again. I spent just under a week coming from Florida to Dr. Ukena and Mel for their excellent care and service. I would do it again tomorrow too. The care Dr. Ukena & Mel provide is beyond exceptional. Never did I ever think I could have such an enjoyable time at the dentist's office... I've been traveling and having difficulty getting a tooth treated. It can be tricky getting service when you're not in an area for a long time, yet Fox Grape Dental are amazing. Dr ML welcomes me with her compassion and expertise. While I'm not an expert, she seemed to be very up to date on the services they provide and care they offer. I found her on the IAOMT website. The International Academy of Oral Medicine and Toxicology (IAOMT) is a global network of dentists, health professionals, and scientists who research the biocompatibility of dental products, including the risks of mercury fillings, fluoride, root canals, and jawbone osteonecrosis. Dr ML seems well educated and up to date on the best services to offer her clients. I believe she provided me the most thorough exam I've ever had by a dentist and I'm not likely to be a returning client, as I don't live in Missouri. I'm so impressed she really took the time to evaluate everything that was happening in my mouth. I highly recommend Dr ML for many reasons, including her compassion, professionalism, and expertise.

She took the time to meet and greet with my son and got him good and comfortable with her before she started. She was very attentive to him being a toddler but most importantly with patience, was able to clean all of the staining; an arduous task out last hygienist was unable to accomplish so big props to Bethany! Furthermore, she asked about our use of fluoride, which we avoid for personal reasons and she was respectful of that. It's obvious the business is grounded on top notch patient relationships and they strive towards excellence. Instead of her admitting she could possibly made a mistake, that she got involve in discussion of my x-rays and forgot to check and went to her next appointment, she said, I would never skip that and acted very unprofessional. A person knows when someone pulls out your tongue to look under it for cancer or lifts your lips back to check gums. She did neither but denied it and instead of offering to check it, she got all bent out of shape and offended. Telling friends/neighbors/family to definitely beware of two sides of this dentist/office practices.

Today was my first exposure to anything other than preventive procedures. I must say that Dr Hoff and his staff exceeded my expectations. I had a crown that I received from another dentist many years ago replaced today. I was expecting to have the crown removed, have an impression made, have a temporary crown installed and repeat the process once the permanent crown came back from the lab.
