This review is concerning the Optometry Dept. I've been seeing Dr. Miller for the past 7 years and have had a great experience. The Optometry Dept is the worst! I usually take my prescription elsewhere to be filled. I had a bad experience with them a couple years ago. But this year I decided to give them another chance and again was disappointed. I had requested a tint on my glasses and when I went to pick them up there was no tint. I was told I could leave them, and they would return them to be tinted. I would have to make another trip to pick them up. For the second time they were unable to get it right. I don't usually take the time to write a bad review... but when I told the tech never mine, I will just take the glasses. As I went to leave, she was very condescending and said "oh have a nice day"...WOW great customer service! read more

My sister and I both went in for routine eye exams, and we were both very happy with the exams. They recommended further tests for me which I did. They were upfront about our copay amounts and required them at the time of service. Everything was great until I saw that my sister had apparently paid over $600 for glasses. I was shocked. Because she is a bit challenged, she was shocked at the price also. I've put in 2 calls to the optical department to see if her glasses are ready when promised but no call back yet. I called last week to make an appointment and had the oddest 7 minute phone conversation with this doctor's office. The conversation was so odd, I had to double check that had I dialed the correct number. For whatever reason, I just could not get an appointment. The lady would not give me a time and date. She kept asking me questions and seemed convinced that I was NOT worthy of an appointment. And Yes. 7 minutes. I even asked three times, oh is there an issue of doctor coverage? The lady replied, well no, I just have to schedule these out. Stalling? Okay. Isn't 7 minutes enough time to check your books and find me an open appointment? I finally said look, it doesn't seem like you want to give me an appointment so I will just let you go I guess. And just like that, she let me go. This happened last week and I am still disturbed by what happened. I guess my eye pain wasn't worth the doctor's time. I told the lady I had a doctor's referral but she didn't seem to care. Thanks for wasting my time Dr. LoBue. It took me two weeks to get insurance approval. Now I have to go back to my doctor, get another referral for another doctor and wait another two weeks for the insurance approval. Why become a doctor if you don't want to take appointments for people in pain and in need of dire medical expertise? read more

5 stars!! In fact I'm changing optometrist to Dr LoBue after seeing the pre op, op, and post op service my husband received. Both the staff in Temecula and Murrieta have been phenomenal. Very professional, friendly, compassionate, and experienced.. when it comes to eye surgery you want a doctor who is a perfectionist and Dr LoBue and his staff will not disappoint! I recently experienced a potential ophthalmological emergency. Dr. LoBue fit me into his busy schedule that very day! He and his staff are wonderful and very thorough. In fact, he made arrangements for me to go directly to a retinal specialist nearby. Because of his professional concern and quick action, I'm happy to say I didn't lose the sight in my eye. The specialist he sent me to also took quick action using laser to repair a tear in my retina, thus saving what could have turned into a retinal detachment, resulting in blindness in the affected eye. Came in with prescription in hand from another optometrist, I just needed glasses/frames Optometry employee Ludith was very professional,courteous and kind. A breakdown of my coverage was discussed and after I choose my frames she went over the cost real down with no pressure to upgrade/upsell Again frames dept employee was awesome For anyone who is reading this and has been to a different Optometrist and have had extremely high price is quoted in reference to your frames and lenses give this company a call for a second opinion Cal Oaks Eye optometry was charging me close to over $155 on just the lenses alone and most of the frames were over $250 Great experience here will definitely come back for additional glasses and would recommend to anyone else looking for a pair of glasses! read more

This was my 1st appointment, visit was very smooth. With the exception; when I scheduled my appointment the call center didn't let me know they required all new patients to arrive 1 hour prior to fill up new patient paperwork. The 2 front desk ladies where very nice, quickly went to ask Dr if I could be seeing today. When I was taken to the back I had the best patient experience, Natalie has great bedside manners, and connects with patients -congratulations Natalie you'll be a great provider-. My grandson saw Dr Miller in the Murrieta office, he's been wearing contacts for over 5 yrs and was there to make sure of his prescription before getting new lens. When I made his appt I asked if Dr would give him his prescription, he had copy from last Dr showing what he's been wearing. They said yes, never said there would be a charge. When he was done they advised it was $85.00 he had to pay. If we had know this we would have shopped around. Staff and Dr we're great, but Appointment center needs to be train to correctly answer questions. read more

I recently had cataract surgery with Dr. Lobue. I am so very happy. I can see at night again! I had been to another eye surgeon in the Murrieta area and was told "yes I had cataracts but I needed to be blind before they would remove them". Finally after not being able to drive at night and my vision was fading fast I found Dr. Lobue. Best eye doctor in the world! His office was able to make an appointment for me right away. Erin the assistant gets a 5 star from. Great staff, very helpful! Yep I can SEE again. I highly recommended Dr. Lobue! read more

The absolute worst customer service I have ever experienced. I called ahead of making a trip to purchase Latisse and was informed that they had plenty available. When I arrived at the California Oaks location, the girl sitting behind the desk barked at me and told me to sit down unitl she had time to "go upstairs" and find what I needed. She told me she was busy and it would be awhile. We are talking about pure profit for these people. $125.00 just like that for Latisse, no eye exam required, just pure profit for them. After a few minutes, I was called up and paid for the Latisse. I asked for a receipt and was treated like I was asking for her first born child. On my way out I heard her yelling at an older woman and telling her to go wait in the parking lot for a shuttle. As I walked out I told the older lady that I was so sorry for the way that she had been treated and that I would call and report this behavior. I called an hour later and the lady I spoke to told me that she would take care of the problem and that they record all conversations at the front desk. A little odd, but whatever. I swore that I would NEVER step foot in this offce or give these people a dollar of my hard earned money again, period!! read more

Dr LoBue is the best and would recommend surgery from his office any day but when I took my mum to the vision side for new glasses it was the worst experience and the most rude and unresponsive person I had met in a while. She could see better out of her old glasses than the new and the lady there tried to send her home explaining that she just needs to just get used to them.. New glasses 6 weeks after surgery - you should see better and the staff should not try to usher an 88 years lady out the front door. read more

Beautiful office, friendly staff. I thought I was dealing with the best. I had cataract surgery, it went well. Three months later I had a problem, a black spot appeared. I called for an appointment as I was instructed to do on the paperwork sent home after the surgery. The operator said it was just a floater and to wait for my six month check up. At six months I has lost my vision in my left eye. I was calling every other day for cancellations. I was told I had to wait another month as Dr. Precious was going on vacation. By the time I got in there I was now an emergency. They sent me to surgery center in San Gabriel (thank you Uber). My blind eye is blurry, can't see anything but flashes of color. The scleral buckle is painful. My new optometrist told me the retina in my right eye had been operated on too. Except for one week after the surgery I never saw or heard from Lobue again. read more

Dr. LoBue is an outstanding ophthalmologist and eye surgeon having done my cataract surgery.I also admire his "bedside manner".However i'm not pleased with the prescriptive/lens service in his office on Cal Oaks.I purchased sun glasses (DKNY frames),the fit was not great but I was told to wear for awhile and return for any adjustment.The adjustment was not succesful being told that if the frames broke they were not responsible.In Nov 2017 prescription lens were installed in the same frames but the glasses came back with clear lens instead of sun lens.I returned to the office requesting an adjustment which was not succesful.After the hot sand adjustment attempt the widened ear rods returned to the pre-sand wide size upon cooling.Comment was "we don't carry those frames anymore".Did not offer me a discount on other frames read more

Dr. LoBue is the absolute best ophthalmologist and eye surgeon in Southern Calfornia. Recently (yesterday), Dr. LoBue conducted cataract surgery on my left eye utilizing the laser technique. I opted for only the standard lens replacement not the more expensive lens. From the first eye exam, discussion of cataract surgery options, lens choices, explanations of the procedures and possibilities, scheduling process, pre-op and post-op examinations, Dr. LoBue and his staff were exceptional. I am 66 years old with cataracts in both eyes. Dr, LoBue, Margaret and Erin were very kind, patient and professional when dealing with all of my questions and concerns and in the explanation of my options. The entire office staff is so accommodating and pleasant to work with. In regards to having surgery on my eyes, I was extremely anxious just thinking about the procedure. In my profession as an SLP, I have numerous evaluation reports and daily documentation to write, therefore, making it crucial that my eyesight is not impaired. The thought of having any kind of surgery on my eyes was frightening. Dr. LoBue's calm and reassuring bedside manner and the gentle and thorough explanation of the process, procedure and potential outcomes quickly eased my fears. He scheduled me immediately and his staff worked graciously with my appointment timelines. They are all an amazing team of caring professionals. Also, I cannot provide enough positive praise about Dr. LoBue's expertise and surgical precision. Since the age of 35, I have been wearing glasses from the moment that I woke up in the morning until the moment that I went to bed at night. I believe my vision was 20/100-150. Dr. LoBue explained what he could do for my vision and the possible correction of my astigmatism. He was optimistic yet realistic without any guarantees but confident in improving my vision. Currently, I am 24 hours post-operation and my vision is as clear as a bell. I can even read the small print. I can't wait to get my right eye done. From this point on, I will only go to Dr. LoBue for any eye condition especially any conditions that require surgery. He and his medical and office staff are the very best! read more

OMG! Lobue optical department in Murrieta has the worst service. Walk in to the office and the receptionist doesn't even smile. Then you walk into the optical department and the staff does not even know how to order contact lenses. Contacts were paid for (they do know how to collect your money), and three weeks later, still no word on contacts, so I spent all morning trying to get through to the optical department and when I finally do, they put my on eternal hold and then I am transferred to the voice mail. Again, i called back and finally told the employee how disatisfied I was with their service and all she has to say is "i know". I will definately be looking for another optomologist. Does anyone provide good, professional customer service anymore? Do these business even care? I don't think so. read more

I went to Dr Miller in Dr Lobue's office for a new prescription for stronger glasses. After receiving the 2 pairs I ordered there ($640), one was plain glass and the other was the exact same strength I came in with. They refunded my glasses money but refused to reimburse me for the exam that was incorrect. Not only did they not apologize for the incorrect exam, but had the nerve to say I had services rendered even though the exam was incorrect. They said there was nothing I could do and that was their final answer. But they are wrong because I just reviewed them on yelp to warn all of you. Hopefully I will keep someone else from this incompetent office. read more

When we went in there were chatting about life in front of us. They don't bother to say good morning but my wife she said good morning nobody responses. They don't deserve even 1 star. My eye was irritated for days. I didn't know what was causing it but hey found that I had a piece of glass under my eyelid. Days earlier I dropped a glass bowl which shattered into many pieces. One of the pieces must have jumped into my eye. They were extremely gentle and precise getting a piece of glass out of my eye that was embedded under my eyelid. My experience was extremely positive. I met with Dr. LoBue because I was afraid that I had a retinal detachment. His nurse that did the exam was both competent and courteous. Dr, LoBue himself was the best part. He patiently explained everything to me and then showed me a video to further illustrate his remarks. I've never been to a optical department where they knew so much and how helpful they are with picking out glasses for you. I was helped by a young lady named Brenda and she couldn't have been anymore helpful and kinda! She truly explained how my glasses need to look on me, who would have thought that you needed to know all this information on a pair of glasses but she took the time to explain to me and show me all the types of glasses she thought looked good on me. Saw Dr. LoBue for eye surgery and everything went perfect. I can actually go without glasses most of the time.That was a major plus for me, but I still needed reading glasses. Now the other side of this equation is the optical side which I had a worst experience of my life. That is being said without hesitation. To make a long story short, I was told by the 'then' manager that I was the most difficult customer they've ever had because I couldn't answer her questions so quickly. Mind you, I just had two operations on each eye and I was still healing. I walked out crying with glasses I could never wear. When I told Dr. Miller, his reply was their best and there was nothing he could do. Now I was told that employee is gone. Hmmmm!! Anyway, I went back a year later at my doctor request for an eye exam and in less than a minute, the girl who was to help me lost her patience immediately with me for reasons I can't explain. I walked out. Dr Vu was the optometrist this time and she was wonderful. But their vision center IS THE WORST IM EVER BEEN. Please do waste your money there. If Dr LoBue does your surgery and you still need glasses, please go to your own optometrist. Trust me, save yourself a bad experience and your money. read more

Although Dr. LoBue is a wonderful doctor, his office staff is far from competent and this will lead me to switch practices. Both Dr. LoBue and Dr. Miller,, who is also in this office are great - however, the phone system frequently disconnects calls and the front desk staff is difficult to work with. The final straw occurred today. Both my mother and myself had appointments scheduled with one of the doctors in the California Oaks office. These appointments were made in person and we had appointment card filled out by the front desk staff. Confirmation calls from the office were also received. Now, my mother, though intellectually 150% is 85 years old and slowing down a bit physically and is currrently using a walker due to some temporary physical problems. We showed up at the office early, as requested, only to be informed that our appoinments were with a different doctor that we did not know and in a different branch. When I pointed out that we had scheduled our appointments in the California Oaks office and showed the receptionist the appt. cards, she shrugged said she was sorry, and we were probably right and she didn't know what had happened but there was nothing to be done except to reschedule for a couple of weeks in the future. No supervisor was available to speak to and calls to the supervisor are waiting to be returned. No practice, no matter how good the doctors, are any good if the staff messes up and you can't get in to see the doctor when you have scheduled appts. read more
