They even had one of the doctors fix his teeth. They took really good care of him during that procedure. About 2 years ago the team started becoming real sticklers about the heart worm medication I gave him every month. It was a nuisance but I figured it was a safety precaution as they explained to me. Then when my fiancé moved in with his 2 pit mixes it became pretty ridiculous. This vet office had policies that are incredibly strict around prescribing heart worm medication. And with 2 medium sized dogs and a little, the price of these meds is WILD. I know this inflexibility around policy is not typical since I've asked folks about their vet experiences and found that some vets will have you sign paperwork that says you understand the risk of not getting them tested every year in order to ensure the dog can stay on the flea tick heart worm meds. This strictness was also very different than my experience at Redwood Vet Hospital in Vallejo. I give my dogs their heart worm medicine every single month without exception. I never miss a dose. This vet office isn't really willing to work with dog owners and seems more loyal to their policies & money than trying to mitigate health risks & disease in dogs. They don't believe their customers who tell them that we don't miss a dose. They don't care if you understand the risks they're describing for a possible missed dose. They will proceed to talk to you like your dumb. I've experienced both Dr. Kafka & Dr. Brandwajn talking down to either me or my partner (over the phone) about how we care for our dogs. I used to work at a dog daycare and I understand that many, many owners don't really know how to properly care for their dogs. I feel for vets and what they have to see and deal with. But the way business is conducted in this office is not the way to make it better. I haven't seen Heather in the office for a while, I'm not sure if she still works there but she was one of the office staff who didn't treat me like I didn't know what I was doing and even leveled with me and said that if money was an issue I can get my 3 dogs vaccinated at the monthly SPCA clinic. She seemed to understand that the safety of the dog should be the priority, but when we took our dogs back for their next checkup at A4P after taking them to the vaccine clinic we were treated as if we were lying about them having been vaccinated. The amount of hoops we have to jump through just to get our dogs access to flea tick & heart worm meds feels like a scam. We've brought our dogs in just for a simple heart worm test or cytopoint shot and been quoted $1000+ for a wild amount of additional tests they wanted to tack on. I do not feel like this vet is trustworthy or has my dogs best interests in mind. Our experience at the last two visits has finally convinced us to change vets. Cost was typical as was expected. Treated his ears as well as allergies that were causing his issues. Since being treated Frankie has not licked his paws at all. Face is no longer red. He feels much better. I definitely recommend Animal Hospital to any Pet parents. Office was clean. Happy with this place. Also took my female here 2 years ago to be spayed. No problems whatsoever

She took good care of my English bulldog back in the 2000s at Barney and Russum. But now it's apparent she is unhappy and perhaps needs to retire. I brought another dog in for some typical breed issues and she totally dropped the ball. I inquired about allergy injections, flea, tick, and heart worm medication, and anything else my dog may need. Was prepared to spend $$$ but only walked out with two vaccine injections. Not to mention she also dropped the ball on the original issue I brought my dog in for. She was supposed to get back to me the following day with results and medications, and here we are three days out and still no word.

When we first met Furry Murray, we had two very senior pets. Both required more attention, and often timed medications, when we left. Instead of worry, we always knew they'd be in the best hands while we were away and that our pets would be thrilled to see them. Now, we have two new additions to our family, and they too love the Furry Murray team. Daily, we receive video and photo updates, as well as any photos of packages arriving to the home, etc. It's a relief to find someone who cares for and loves your pets as much as you do. I went in to get a refill just to find out we've been giving our kitten the wrong dosage due to the dosage line being incorrect. Yes the bag has dosage details however there were no instructions on the bottle itself in case the bag gets misplaced. First time having my own pet so I'm very grateful our kitten turned out to be okay and I'm glad they gave us the correct dispenser and extra instructions to finish his treatment. Staff was kind with the 1st and 2nd appointment, however we'll just be checking out a different animal hospital.
