SHOUT OUT TO TED! I…read morecan't speak to this location's business practices (seems to be a point of contention in other reviews), but O-M-G. Ted is freaking awesome. I booked my first deep tissue massage ever with him (30 mins) and was pretty nervous. I've taken the BSL to work for 5+ years and just started having to drive to work (I hate you 95), so I have a LOT of tension in my neck, shoulders and upper back. I needed some serious work. Ted asked what I wanted to focus on, so I told him that area and we got to it. He immediately made me feel super comfortable. He said affirmative things throughout, reminded me to breathe, let me know when he was going to apply more pressure and asked a couple of times how the pressure was (it was perfect). He found knots I didn't even know I had and commented a couple of times on how bad they were (oops!) But, he got them all. Seriously, all of them. There were a few "hurts so good" moments, but I've heard of people being in tears after deep tissues--not the case at all with Ted. I don't get massages frequently, but I am highly considering making the investment in myself after this. I have another one scheduled soon and I really cannot wait. Thank you Ted!!!

I do commend Michael for being explicit in the email as to what type of massage this would be and what you would experience during it. I was grateful for that so I knew what to expect and could manage expectations. He does the best he can with the space he has, as he is relegated to a small oversized closet type room in the basement gym of this building. There is a mat on the ground that he works off of which is comfortable enough, but just something to be aware of if you are not nimble to get up and down off of the ground. He seems well trained in his technique, but to be honest, it was not what I was hoping for. He mentioned he gives a lot of pressure, and I just didnt get that out of the experience. There was about 4/5 mins total of stretching, I thought there would be more considering this was an hour deal. I walked out feeling the same as I did when I walked in unfortunately. It was worth a try, and I am certainly glad I did so on a Groupon budget. Overall it was just ok.

Naturally I waited until the last minute to do it so ended up with a Tuesday night appointment at 8. I love the online scheduling system. It was nice to be able to just pull up a calendar and see what was available. The massage room was in the gym, but they have done a good job of keeping out the extraneous noise. Michael's massage technique is shiatsu. I was clothed, and he spent much of his time on my back, and also did some great stretches for my legs. I'm an athlete that is horrible about stretching so I definitely thought that part was beneficial. He was very professional, and I felt pretty relaxed during the whole experience. I don't get massages that often, but I would definitely consider going back.

He performed deep tissue in certain areas, and that was truly kind of him since deep tissue normally costs more. I had a great first experience with him. He is light hearted, friendly, lovely to talk to - and listened to my concerns. I purchased a deep tissue and went back to him for a 90 minute about 10 days later to see if we could really get to the root of my problems. Although I had relief, it wasn't let's say.. "fixed" per se. I will say that he said I'm the first person he's encountered like this. For context, I've been getting massages for over a decade, and I haven't found anyone that's been able to "fix" me. I'm also very active, train 1-3 hours a day as a hoop dancer and all around performer. I've at least always felt better than when I walked in. I also personally do a lot of myofascial release, stretching, yoga - and I really try everything to give myself some relief in my upper back/neck/thoracic/trap region. Today I'm going back for my 3rd massage with him. I've been happy with the relief I've gotten, and his prices can't be beat! I'll update after my massage today - I'm going for my first 90 minute regular massage (includes 80 min massage but 10 min of undressing/dressing time) for $60! + tax/tip. I recommend checking his business out based on my experience thus far

Throughout the session, I could constantly hear dogs barking, other customers shouting, and loud conversations among the staff. The staff appeared to enjoy "gaslighting" male customers. Every time she came back from leaving the room, she kept telling me how generous other clients were（especially one WHITE man）how they wanted to buy her dinner or give her gifts. I endured it until the end, but I found it extremely inappropriate. I don't understand why, as a paying customer, I'm expected to develop a so-called "FRIENDSHIP" that involves giving gifts or treating the staff to meals. It's ridiculous. I paid for a massage, not for any other kind of "SERVICE." I am engaged, and this behavior is unethical. thank you if boss saw this msg，ur staff told me she does not receive any hourly wage, only tips. so pay ur staff hourly wage pls cuz she kept harassing me for not tipping her 50% !!!!!!!
