Have really been enjoying Thistle. Very delicious plant based food overall, at a cheaper price than takeout. Lots of options are raw (meaning also not processed and no cooking) and there is variety every week. There have been only a few meals that I have not enjoyed. And the vegan desserts are delicious. I get bored if I eat one of their meals for lunch and dinner (they are tasty but not huge, and sometimes I want carbs or some fish, since I'm a pescatarian). But I'm having fun ordering several meals a week, along with snacks and dessert, and not having to meal plan or cooked to be healthy. I used to love Thistle. Until last night. I have had severe food poisoning since eating the marry me chicken meal. It's been 14 hours since consuming that tainted meal and I am still sick. I have been ordering Thistle since early November. I have had about 5 weeks of deliveries so far. I live in the Greater Seattle area. The food is great. It is fresh and easy to prepare. It has been a huge help in my effort to eat healthy. However, where the company has an issue is the process to pack up and deliver the items. Out of approximately 5 weeks I have had 3 orders that have been incorrect. Tonight they delivered two bags. One was full and the other just had an ice pack in it. I was missing a couple of the meals. The last time this happened their customer service followed up again and apologized then credited me back the funds and gave me a future credit to use. This is nice but I prefer to not have to keep doing this. They also advised in the last email "We've also taken some additional steps to flag your account for special attention from our pack teams." This clearly is not working. Thistle you have to do better. Great food and concept but the delivery literally is not working. read more

Well, so far it's been off to a great start with Thistle. I'm very pleased. My salads have all been to die for-- and far better than I even expected. Absolutely delicious! I was very surprised at how very fresh they are, and that they remain fresh all week. That's a huge plus for me. The portion sizes are perfect, and keep me full / well satiated. For next week I've added a few breakfasts as well as a couple of healthy desserts to my order. So, we'll see how well I like those. So now I have trust issues since we have food allergies. Then two whole meals were missing! I do like that most of the vegan meals have around 20 grams of protein. I notice some vegan options at other places don't do a great job of making sure there is adequate protein What's just okay: I do feel like I see a lot of the same things on the menu and there isn't a wide variety of options. I do like several of the salads that they offer every week though so an easy way to add a couple of more meals to my delivery It's a little on the expensive side but you are getting quality nutritious meals What I don't like - the delivery window is between 3-6am. I recently started with Thistle meal delivery and so far so good. I've tried many meal prep services, but this time I really wanted no prep, ready to eat meals for breakfast and lunch. I also am trying to eat less meat, so this allows me to easily limit meat to just dinner. I've not been disappointed in any meal. They have all been delicious. I've tried the tahini-java smoothie, apple cider harvest salad, 24 carrot gold muffin, waldorf salad, and more. Seriously, I've liked them all! They also have juices, soups, and salads in a jar. I've not tried these yet, but stay tuned and I just ordered a few to try. The only suggestion I have is if the meal is best by being cooked, please note this and the method of heating on the order page. We tried Thistle for about 4 weeks and decided it wasn't for us. Portion size was great, a packaged meal can easily be split by 2 people. My unfortunate downside with this delivery was that since I have a very sensitive GI, it reacted negatively to many cIf you are into exotic spices and flavors with fresh ingredients and strong GI to handle it's for you. the meals are bland and simple. The amount of 3 ingredient "salads" I got is crazy. Over $13 for a bowl full of spinach (which is so cheap) and a few shreds of boiled chicken is just not filling or interesting. I was always adding things to spice them up, but for that price?! Out of all of their dressings, I've only had 2 that were good. All the other ones were so bad. They make weird meals like banana and tahini muffins which I decided to give a try because it would at least be edible right? Wrong! It was absolutely the worst tasting thing I have aver eaten in my life. But they don't even refund you for meals you don't like so it's basically "you try our food experiments at your own cost" I ended the subscription because for 6 days of only breakfast, dinner, and dessert it is over $200. For some mid food? No thanks. The meals are honestly so basic, I was always thinking "maybe I missed something in the box". I'd recommend Factor or Cook Unity instead. They have better customer service too. To make it worse, they say that they refund for issues with the order, not for taste. But they won't trust you if you tell them anything. I got a bibimbap bowl and it was completely dry even though it said it came with sauce and I got an egg scramble that literally tasted like it had gone bad. I asked for a refund and they told me that they "appreciate my feedback". I asked for a refund and she said that she checked with someone and they said there was sauce in it. So she refused to give me a refund because she doesn't believe that I am telling the truth. So even if you do have an issue with your order, you won't be getting a refund. Be very weary of this company. Before signing up for a delivery, go ahead and search their website Thistle.co for a customer service phone number. You will not find one. So, when your delivery never shows up, you'll have NO ONE to talk to and you won't be refunded. There's a contact form on the website, but no one will ever respond. There's a phone number listed on yelp, but you'll see it's just a recording. So now I have to put in a dispute with my credit card company because this company does not care one bit about service or making things right when they literally don't deliver your food. read more

Located in San Diego and just completed my first week of Thistle. So far everything has been great. I chose the vegan option, 3 meals a day for 5 days a week. I have felt full and enjoy the different meals everyday as I don't enjoy repeating meals personally. The instructions are easy to follow if some meals needed to be heated up ahead of time. I also quickly realized last minute to put my bag outside for the new order to come. Not sure if that's the process? But I did, and everything was delivered with a new ice pack etc to stay fresh. If it is, maybe sending a text the morning of delivery to remind folks. I've joined for convenience, higher nutrient food and to avoid the grocery store as much as possible along with cooking lol. Like other reviewers have commented, the salads are slimy and the freshness is questionable. I shouldn't feel like gagging when eating because the meal tastes old. Also you better really like mushrooms, they are literally in everything. When I emailed customer service about the issues I got 1, $15 credit. Sad to say I had to cancel my thistle subscription last week. The food and snacks were actually amazing and price and prep was pretty good. My big issue is their delivery times. They can only deliver between 1am and 6am (always seemed to be around 2am). This wouldn't have been a problem except the two places I lived at while getting thistle delivered needed me to come down and let them in. So I would pretty much have to wait till 2 AM for their delivery or wake up when they would call me. Every other meal delivery service has daytime hours, or even one of thistles biggest competitors who has the same delivery times offers a Monday night 6 PM to 9 PM window for those that can't work in that timeframe. You would think for the money spent, and just sheer convenience to customers they would offer at least one alternative. read more
