The restaurant has a rather classic style, but it doesn't feel old or stuffy, it has beautiful wood panels and this contrast perfectly with the green color in details of furniture and upholstery, with stark white table linens. The service is fantastic, and its all together a lovely place.

The other reviewers would seem to think this is because nobody knows it exists: I have a subtly different view, which is based on experience of the service (it's awful), the prices (they're expensive), the atmosphere (1980s decor in a 1950s building), the chill you get from sitting next to the windows on the east side (no double glazing), the choice of beer (all bottled), and the music which, when the CD skips (and it will), will drive you slowly insane. These factors conspire, I think, to make it not really very popular. Which is its saving grace - a great place for a quiet meeting at any time of the day, with an exclusive feel and a swanky express lift. If you can get over the downsides, it's still a very useful place to know about.

It's actually decent with great views! The drinks aren't too expensive (£30 for two gin and tonic and two rum and ginger which I 'think' were doubles) and the views are particularly good. I 'think' because it looked particularly full but there was ice and it was a thin glass. It was still good though. Without sounding too vulgar. The view from the gents was from a much better angle. I would give it a 7/10. You could see the BT tower which made for a slightly more impressive view than West London from the West End (houses). The decor is dated, but I genuinely don't think that matters with an awesome view and cheap(ish) drinks. Added to this was that it was basically empty. On a Thursday night between 930-11pm. We got served with table service and paid on card so our only focus was on having a good time and discussing sci-fi books in intense detail. This is genuinely lacking from a lot of London's bars (the relaxed, quiet atmosphere. I don't know about sci-fi chat). I know that a 5* review may sound a bit much but if you're in the West End or Oxford Street and want a relaxed, genuinely pleasant drink. Come here. Can't recommend it enough.

Expecting to come here and find your usual pub which serves cheap and cheerful food, I was surprised to find a very well presented, almost posh looking pub with a huge beer garden, medium sized pond which is home to some ducks and inside was just as good. The interior of the pub is quite charming with the wooden beams exposed and the place felt cosy and warm. It isn't huge on the inside but felt that it was laid out well and wasn't over-crowded and it's nice that the furnishings are quite modern. I had difficulty deciding what to have from the menu, although there isn't a great deal of choice on it, what was there sounded nice. I settled with calamari for starters as it's one of my favourites and chicken skewers for the main course. Calamari was okay, it wasn't the best I've had. I felt that the pieces were a bit small and there wasn't many pieces. My fella had the hot wings for starters but said that they weren't hot at all and didn't live up to the name or expectations, if anything, he said that they may have been a bit overcooked. My chicken skewers, on the other hand, were delicious! The main courses all came out big and thus, made up for the tiny portions for our starters. The chicken, courgette and peppers were cooked perfectly but I don't remember there being courgette mentioned on the menu when I ordered it, I think it was supposed to be onions instead. It doesn't really matter to me as I like both. On the side was some coleslaw and sweet chilli dip. It come with a lot of chips and pita bread. Needless to say, it was far too much and even though I was stuffed I just wanted to carry on eating because it was so nice. Two others on the table had the lamb shank and said that it tasted amazing, the other person had the fillet of steak and chips but everyone liked their mains and commented that they were presented well too. For dessert, I ordered the creme brulee which came with a scoop of vanilla ice cream and red berry compote and can't grumble at all, it was decent. Two others had dessert and said that the dessert tasted good but they could have done with having a bit more of it as the portion came up quite small. The waitress was friendly and the place wasn't loud, so it was a relaxed atmosphere. Cocktails were also yummy and fairly cheap too! I got two of the strawberry daiquiri's (which I can never properly pronounce). They went down far too smoothly and easily and actually tasted more like those Munch Bunch drinky yoghurts. Overall, a good experience and would like to come here on a warm sunny day to enjoy the garden.

There's a number on each table that you have to tell the bartender when ordering. There seemed to be one bartender the time I was ordering which did take a while. The two other guest ended up ordering from someone else and was done before I even had a chance to order. I don't know if he was new or overwhelmed, but it was slow. It did take a while to received our food as well. People that ordered after me did get theirs way before us. Food, was ok. The flatbread was good but nothing major to rave about. The halibut I believe it was, that was quite nice. Served with a nice curry sauce. Chicken skewers, very dry and the halloumi was ok. Margarita was nice which was great. They didn't have the rose I wanted but was offered something else. Overall, service was ok. Ambiance was pretty chill outside. But the whole layout is quite nice. It's a beautiful restaurant by all mean.

The restaurant is pretty big, with a spacious high-ceilinged ground floor room (I'd guess with at least 50 covers) and an even larger but more intimate dining area downstairs. Seating is a mixture of tables, banquettes. The decor features lots of black shiny tiles, particularly in the bathrooms (which also have black ceilings and floors), which makes them a bit gloomy, although atmospheric... But they were spotlessly clean. We dropped by for lunch. Stopping outside at 12 noon, we saw the brunch menu posted outside, and thought it offered us a reasonable range of options. As we were being shown to our table, we asked the member of staff at the entrance whether this menu was still available, and he told us it was. I have to say he was pretty cool and offhand with us; but more of that later. When the waitress arrived, the menus she gave us were for lunch (and cocktails), which had rather fewer options for me; I'm vegetarian but the only options available to me you were in fact all vegan. I asked about the breakfast menu and she said that had ceased being served at 11:30. We pointed out that the menu was still outside, and she said she would get it sorted. She was very pleasant and amenable. In the end, I ordered the Rainbow bowl salad, at £15.95. My friend ordered the similar duck salad, at £16.95 with us. I had a sparkling water £3.25 and my friend the first of two glasses of Pinot Grigio £9.95. The food arrived reasonably quickly, and the waitress was very pleasant. Afterwards, my friend had the gooseberry crème brûlée at £8.95 (and his second glass of Pinot Grigio) and I had the breakfast tea. With a donation to the Maggie's Cancer charity, and service charge at 12.5%, the total bill for lunch came to just over £78 (so, without the wine, about £55). The food was perfectly flavourful and there was a reasonable amount of it, but it was on the pricey side for a casual lunch. But that would not have mattered were it not for the service from other members of staff. As well as our frosty door manager, I went to the main counter to ask the manager and the bar waiter where it was. They said it was on the lower floor; when I asked the way they said "down the stairs", as if that were obvious and I was an idiot. I asked where the stairs were, and they pointed them out (on the other side of the restaurant, and behind a partition, from where we'd been seated). None of this was done with anything approaching a smile, which struck me as patronising and supercilious. When we left, another couple said goodbye to the doorman; without even looking up, or smiling, he mumbled a goodbye. So really, only our waitress was pleasant, and the three gentlemen didn't make us feel welcome at all. Perhaps, given my friend and I are 60+ and 80+, we simply weren't cool enough for them?

The exterior doesn't prepare you for what you find inside - not that much could. What you find is an intimate space, decorated in dark reds with baroque panels, rather like the sort of small 18th century opera house you might find in Prague or Salzburg. There are even little balcony "boxes" with tables accessed by vertiginous stairs (NB not good for long legged or tall people). The food is a mixture of French and modern European. There are vegetarian starters and mains, but the menu is heavy on throroughly meaty dishes, such as char-grill Lamb Steak, with crushed new potatoes, julienne vegetables and green peppercorn sauce, or chicken breast stuffed with minted minced lamb, herbal mash and Port wine sauce. I had the grilled Portobello mushroom, prepared with garlic and served with spinach and a roast pepper sauce; followed by roast aubergine strudel, stuffed with grilled asparagus and ricotta cheese, served with French beans and a tomato and basil sauce. Service was very pleasant throughout and I like the fact that they don't charge for a basket of bread. The prices vary depending on whether you book before or after 7pm; you'll save a pound on the starter and a couple of pounds on the main course if you go before. We had a very decent French vin de pays as the house wine. Pleasanter still was the bill - £55 (including service) for three people each having two courses, after 7pm. I'll definitely go back - or maybe try one of their other branches...

I came here a fair bit 10 or so years ago and had forgotten how good it is for the money. I love the ramshackle seating here and service is always friendly, if somewhat brisk. The dishes are all a little different from the norm, so it can be a nice experience to try a few dishes between a few people. I know that every review mentions that price, but the last time I paid The Little Bay a visit, I was actually surprised at the relatively high price of three people dining and a bottle of wine to split. It used to be very, very cheap. Regardless of price, the food is great here. The atmosphere has it's charm. The service is a decent standard. What is not to like?

Nice bar, mixed feelings about the restaurant…read more I've visited several times the bar which was always fun, and the bar food was good. Now we tried the restaurant in the back of the venue. The service was friendly, but slow and inattentive. The Spanish platter as starter was good. They have only two vegetarian options as main dishes, and one was not available. Shame, because the other dish didn't match the description on the menu and was disgusting. The other burgers and steaks were good. It was Friday night and the music was so loud, it was nearly impossible to have a conversation at the table. Something you have to consider, probably worth trying at another day. And regarding the service: when I can try the first bottle of wine, let me test the next one as well and don't pour it on top of the other wine in the glasses.

One problem (which keeps it from being five stars for me) is that The Dining Room isn't very intimate, something I'd appreciate with a restaurant with its price range. Let's face it, this is a special occasion place for most people (we rarely got out for under £150 for two), so I'd prefer to feel like I was in my own little space rather than alongside the other punters. Along those lines, The Dining Room suffers from the same problem Reigate itself does--a lot of people with new money (or more money than manners) who like to show it off, often in a loud and (once, anyway) obnoxious way. I've found that each time there was at least one table for whom the night was obviously just another meal, so were taking the opportunity to be loud and showy, ruining the atmosphere for those looking for a nice, intimate dinner.
