Tiny gallery but one of my favorites to visit. Parking is fairly easy but when they do shows during the weekends it can get super packed inside. There's a great, rotating roster of artists that show here and I don't mind making the hour long drive into the depths of LA to enjoy my brief visits to this place. There's a bathroom and they serve wine occasionally so it's a win win. It always feels like a laid back but interesting experience. read more

I absolutely adore this little gallery & because of The ThinkSpace Art Gallery, I got to see Audrey Kawasaki's works! She is one of the many artists that I adore and have studied when I was in high school and the works are especially beautiful in person that pictures cannot do it any justice! The gallery itself was easy to find even though it was my first time finding this place! Parking was found in 2 minutes or so for me as I visited on a Saturday around 2:30PM-3PM. You park through the parking meters right next to ThinkSpace. I would highly suggest you come visit the gallery for 30 minutes or so as it really is small but worth it as they do present interesting artists (I would check their website or Instagram). Congratulations ThinkSpace for the 10 year anniversary! It was a great event and an even better installation. It was brilliant to have a wide variety of artists with different styles all showcase in the celebration! I follow ThinkSpace on tumblr and read about their event launch, whether it is a new artist exhibiting work or having a booth in the LA Art Show. I always say to myself, I am going to check out this gallery once and for all but I never do. How tragic the countless installations I have missed because I did not make the time out. That definitely has changed and now that I have dipped my toe in the ThinkSpace water, I am ready to jump in. I envisioned this gallery a little different. I suppose it was because of its location. I don't find myself in Culver City often enough and the one time I have visited, it was the now closed Royal/T art gallery. ThinkSpace in my mind is quite different now. The space is much larger than it shows from the street. The place can hold a great amount of bodies. Another great detail is the wheelchair accessibility. There is a incline right at the entrance, so whether its ordered by the city or owner's felt considerate, its a great quality. I'm glad that I finally made my visit. I had to drive around a couple times to look for parking so I got a little more familiarized with the area. I will be visiting again! read more

By far the best gallery on the strip. I had a great time here. All the art was amazing. I found myself staring at Matthew Grabeisky paintings that look just like an exact photograph. Totally breath taking. I also couldn't get enough of Alex Yanes wooden art piece - great presentation and the gallery made sure to give each art piece their space. One of the best galleries in the business. These guys know how to run a gallery in the modern era. Andrew curates shows all over the country, and they regularly host some of the best exhibitions of the year in their own gallery space in Culver City, with many of the most talented artists in the art community today. The opening receptions that they have for their new exhibitions are definitely worth checking out. They regularly have some incredible in-gallery installations that complement the work on display and enhance the overall experience. Highly recommended. read more

This is an awesome little gallery just a mile or so from Downtown Culver City, and it's a wonderful, intimate spot to show art. Parking is somewhat easy to find in the surrounding areas, and the gallery is easy to find right off Washington. A word of caution: DO NOT GOOGLE MAP THIS PLACE. You will end up at the intersection of Washington and Robertson, which is TOTALLY NOT where this place is. It's on the corner of Washington and Hargis - close to La Cienega. I came here for the "New Blood" opening reception, curated by Morgan Spurlock. The pieces on display are all new and mid-career artists. Rather than hanging the artwork and having the artist give a blurb about their own work, each of the artists was asked to talk about ANOTHER artist's work and about the artist. The end result is that you, the viewer, feel as though you're part of a conversation that each of these artists are having (sometimes as a voyeur, sometimes as an audience member) and it's a really interesting effect. Although this says more about the exhibition than the space, I think it's telling that Thinkspace Gallery hosts this kind of art. It's a fantastic find in Culver City and another nook of Los Angeles that I was delighted to find. read more

So far this is probably my favorite gallery in Los Angeles. Not only is most of their art quite affordable, but it's just simply amazing. I'm blown away by the artists they feature. Always beautiful, well thought out, and executed art work. It's also conveniently located in Washington Blvd. it's easily accessible. I originally found this place during a Culver City ArtWalk and it has become my favorite gallery in all of Culver City. Their artwalk was a bigger group show, but often they just show 2 artists at a time. Their artists are young and hip, interesting and challenging, yet accessible. The vibe is welcoming and open. You get a sense the people who run this place really care and they stick their reputation on the people they choose to show. It's one of a few places I seek out regularly just to see what new work they have. I don't know anyone there I just really love how they do things. Go check it out. Really intriguing art, constantly talented artists. What I like about Thinkspace is that it never fails to get a reaction out of me - I think that's the best facet of any art gallery out there. If you were to walk in, you are guaranteed to be horrified, intrigued, entertained, but - most importantly - impressed. The artists in this gallery always have serious talent, no matter their chosen subject matter or medium. This is definitely one of the top galleries in the Culver City Art District. read more

One of my favorite galleries in Los Angeles. Their shows have always been consistantly good. Not super crowded and the opening night is all about the artist/s and art and nothing else. We came out a couple of weeks ago for the opening reception of the Anthony Pontius exhibit in the main gallery "The Caped Cobra and his Merry Band of Riders" along with the collab group show in the project room of "Hunt & Gather" which was the launch of the book that our friend Aaron Kraten was in and had a 12x12" painting in as well. The show was good. Packed full of people some aging hipsters that looked rather tired. The show runs until April 30th. Craig Skibs Barker is also amongst those who had work in the project room.. Pieces are available for purchase as well. I love the size of the gallery. It's rather large thus saving the bumping and rubbing elbows spilling of the cocktails drama. Yes, they offer cocktails the rad part is the food on wheels truck outside... We skipped out but they had a french fry truck that served fries in an inventive fashion.. Kimchi fries?? wtf?? Parking kinda sucks however.. We had a little walk to get to the gallery. Thinkspace has always been awesome from their old and new location. A benefit for their new location is that it is easier to find parking. Either way I always enjoy my time here from looking at art work from great artists, hanging out with people and having a drink. Opening nights are always great here and fairly packed to the point that people are hanging outside. Good art work good music and great people. read more

This is a really nice place in Culver City to check out some art. If you can find it. Naay, it wasn't THAT hard, but the sign outside IS rather small. But stylish. I get it. Anyways, it is a space with one bigger room and one small room. We came to see Joanne Nam's fabulous art and were not disappointed. I've been going to almost every Thinkspace opening since 2005 and have always enjoyed myself every time. It's an incredible 'first date' if you're looking to woo someone over, along with the fact that everyone who attends is always in a good mood. Their new property in Culver City is beautiful and parking is a breeze. Plus there are several restaurants in the surrounding area, and lots of great food trucks, too. read more

the people that own this are extremely unprofessional. They run it more like a garage sale than they do an art gallery. I would never recommend buying art from them. It is funny that people think they are legitimate, the woman owner has such a trashy mouth and when I asked questions about the pieces and art, she gave me the craziest responses. I think she was intoxicated, because they had beer bottles next to them. Completely unprofessional and I would not spend ten dollars there let alone 5000USD! read more

I was recommended this "gallery" by an artist friend I knew. When I went, I was so disappointed. Yes, it is an actual space but the art they were showing at the time was hideous and not art, it seemed like an amateur horror show. The people that worked were completely incompetent and completely frazzled; they seemed like they didn't know their left hand from the right one. It is sad to say but now I understand why an "artist" recommended it and not a real collector. I truly do love this gallery. They always are putting on amazing shows by some of my favorite artists. Yesterday was no exception. Audrey Kawasaki, Stella Im Hultberg, Amy Sol, and Mari Inukai. Wow, really, all of them in one show? Yes it happened. And I couldn't hold back and just had to buy the print set, I mean seriously that's like a once in a lifetime set. If you're into the low brow art scene this is a great gallery to come to. The staff is always super nice and the openings always attract a good crowd of people that are actually enthusiastic about art, not just stand arounds, you know, the people the go to events just to stand around and socialize, that could care less about what's going on. Parking is never really an issue either and the location is key, Culver City really does have some of the best galleries for the more low brow scene. Recently went here with a couple of good friends to view the "In the Wake of Dreams" Gallery featuring artists; Audrey Kawasaki, Amy Sol, Stella Im Hultberg, & Mari Inukai. SO WORTH the drive. I was seriously drawn close to tears just being so close their artwork. If you love art and have an open mind, come out and check out the galleries. Its captivating, beautiful, intricate, and just art in general ... buying actually pieces can become pricey .. I bought 4 featured pieces by each artist (mentioned above) for about $500 ... it's funny because I'm now seeing people sell the pieces on EBAY for about $800 but hey, if you truly love an artist and their craft, what do you do? You support them by buying their work just like you would do by buying a cd from a coveted musician. I especially love ThinkSpace Art Gallery because they feature my favorite Artist; Audrey Kawasaki in many of their gallery shows. Come check it out and enjoy the eye opening exhibits. read more
