I wasn't sure if her theme was a satirical poke at paranoia or a testament to the real threat we pose to ourselves (we being humanity) but either way, I enjoyed it. And the main point is that it was all presented well. There's very little to distract, the proprietor is a nice bloke, and most importantly, he's getting significant and important works in. This is a place that I'll keep my eye on - as any gallery I suppose in the Beverly Wilshire district... But this one definitely fits in and deserves a look.

Pros: -free parking lot. If by any chance that lot is full, there is 2 hour free street parking directly outside of the parking lot. I visited on a Friday a little after 2pm and parking was still available in the lot -the Yoshimoto Exhibit was in two different sections. One was in the main area by the gift shop area and the other you had to exit the building and walk through the garden (that is where the large painting is on display) -the exhibit was free! They do have a little gift shop area where you could purchase things like books, tote bags, hats and postcards. Cons: -none! Overall, an enjoyable experience. Because there weren't descriptions of the art pieces, my visit was brief. However, glad I got to see this exhibit.

The Warhol exhibit was great. There was a short film and two interactive exhibits, including one where you could take your own Andy Warhol inspired "selfie"...cool, but kind of awkward for an introvert like myself, given the audience of onlookers, your picture flashes on a large screen for everyone to see! Lol. I will keep my eyes open for what 101 Exhibit brings in the future. Glad I was able to experience "Letters to Andy Warhol".

This gallery is has an impressive inventory of art from various international artists from the 19th century. Gallery 19C is also located in Hyde Park in Chicago. If you're interested in a particular artwork, you can call to schedule an appointment for an exclusive viewing. When I have walked in here in pasta times, the staff were very friendly and attentive. Some notable French artists works are here, and if Beaucoup buck$$$$ was no object, I would certainly purchase a few. Due to global uncertainty with COVID pandemic, perhaps such priceless art pieces might be considered non essentials. So for now, we can admire Art visually on the gallery's space or on their website, because this art gallery is temporarily COVID closed.
