We agreed the "Fearful Fido" class would help him- I went ahead and registered him and paid in full- $335 . Next month when the class was to start- she emailed me the day before to cancel saying not enough people signed up. She said I would receive a refund in 3-5 business days. This was May 5- by May 14 no refund showing so I emailed to remind her- she said she would check- she got confused about which class I had enrolled in and said she did not see an email about a refund. I reminded her of the class and that she has canceled because there were not enough participants. She emailed back she was on the road and may have looked at the wrong invoice. She would check on it that evening. ..... crickets.... I emailed her again on May 20- to remind her again and she replied she resent the request. Sure enough it appeared next day in my bank but for only $325. I emailed her asking why I had to pay $10 when she canceled the class? She told me, "Laura , Paypal business accounts hit me for a fee for every payment and refund. I requested refund. They refunded you the amount minus what they charged me. As a merchant we pay a lot to have a business." Needless to say passing your mistakes and costs along to customers will cost you business- I will never use her services and suggest you don't either unless you are ok with donating your $.

We were pretty shocked by several businesses that recommended shock collars and prong collars for our pup who was already calm and submissive. When we met with Christie, it was refreshing to learn about her positive and praise-focused approach to training-- and in our consultation session alone she taught Mirabel (and our family) how to walk properly with a leash and the sit command. The entire first visit was based on patience, building trust with our pup, and enjoying the time we spent training. We've taken several classes with Christie since, and every single one is based on the same approach that she introduced on Day 1. The classes are FUN and a great opportunity to meet other pets and their parents in a safe and welcoming environment. I hope Mirabel and I meet you and your pup soon!

We sent our pit bull, Ollie, there and we are happy to report that he is now the best boy. We…read morerescued him from the shelter in 2018 and we quickly saw that we had some work to do. He pulled on the leash, barked at the door, and had bouts of aggression when he didn't get his way. I felt uneasy having guests over because I felt like I had no control over my dog. Basically, my dog owned me.. not vis versa. He did ~2 weeks of the board and train program at SMS Raleigh and even though we were nervous to send him away (it felt like forever!), we loved getting bi-weekly updates from his trainer and seeing his progress. Training Ollie will always be a work in progress but the biggest different we have seen is that HE LISTENS! Hallelujah. My friends come over and say they see a huge difference in him - he's calm, sweet, and charming. He is still a dog.. he does bark at the mailman, and sometimes pulls on the leash, but if we correct him, he is happy to obey. I also love the fact that we have free access to the group classes 2x a week and have the opportunity to continue training him. Overall, we are very happy with his progress and we are dedicated to continue training him with the SMS methods.

The training is nothing short of amazing. You and your dog will be happy with the results…read more No one was more apprehensive about going to an e-collar for my dog's training than I. Colby the owner explained it best to me when he said "It's not about punishment, it's about attention and boundaries. Dogs want to please their owners, so once you have their attention their instinct takes over and training becomes easier. The strides and response to this training are remarkable. So pleased with the results so far. I am happy and more importantly my dog is happy. We have only had 3 private whole day training sessions, and tonight we will attend our first group training. Looking forward to this as it can only help build on the foundation established in the private 3 lessons. The training is not inexpensive, however it cheaper than replacing carpet not to mention several pairs of shoes, baseboards ETC. I recommend sitting down with Colby or any of the other trainers and let them explain why this works. You won't have any regrets. Rick W

This is to rate grooming only. Having been a poodle dad for 8 years, this is not my first…read moreexperience with a groomer. I typically groom my own fur daughter, as the wait in our previous city could be in excess of three months wait time. The groomer did a normal shave down with poofing her head and tail. Nothing special. Her ears were also shaved off. Typically groomers can work out the curls on the ears as our girl has extremely curly fur that often gets tangled. A fifty dollar extra charge for "de-matting" was interesting as she shaved our dog down. Shaving doesn't require de-matting. I could do the same cut at home and often poodle owners shave their dogs down, no "de-matting" necessary. Lastly, the groomer mentioned her inner ears needing to be cut or plucked because they can cause issues. First time I've ever had a groomer mention this. Noted, no vet ever mentioned this being an issue. So, we asked our vet, and they stated that if a dog isn't having issues, then it's best to leave the inner ears alone, as it can cause issues from groomers cutting or plucking their ears. $233.64 dollar charge for this grooming in a little town called Wake Forest. Atlanta and Dallas did a better job and charged less for a superior groom. Needless to say, I will not be going back for grooming here.

Ryan gave us great advice and provided the "why" behind a lot of the dog behaviors we are seeing as well as specific steps we could take. He even gave us advice on helping our anxious border collie during thunderstorms which wasn't even on our list of things to tackle. We were able to implement his tactics within 5 minutes of getting off the Zoom call. We definitely recommend Ryan's services!

We were able to get general information regarding dog behavior as well as specifics regarding what motivates our dog, what triggers our dog, and how to re align our dogs behavior so that he is happy and we are happy!! I appreciated Ryan's use of video to clearly illustrate behavior. His teaching style is clear and effective. He also helped with suggestions about training tools. His approach avoids the use of gimmicks and focuses on what dogs do naturally and how we can tailor what we do to cultivate the best relationship between us. We are already seeing changes in our dog based on the initial recommendations from Born to Lead and we plan to continue to work with Ryan as we help our dog and our family. Thanks Born to Lead!

There were some scheduling issues that were a tad frustrating, but there was also snow/ice so I was understanding. When the groomer arrived she took our hound dog to the van and 45 minutes later came and knocked on our front door (without our dog). She said, "I have bad news. I cut your dog's toe nail too short and it's bleeding a lot." I responded with, "okay do you have kwik stop?" She said "no I do in my studio but not here with me." I said, "ok let me look and see if I have some." I search my dog supplies and did not have any so I ask the groomer "what do you want to do? Is there an alternative to kwik stop?" She says "yes, cornstarch works." So I grab the cornstarch and give it to her. She goes back out to the van and about 5 minutes later I go to check on my dog. I knock on the door and she cracks the van open and I can see blood all over the floor. She says "just a few more minutes." I assume she will be able to stop the bleeding. I was WRONG. About 10 minutes later she knocked on my front door with my dog. I asked my daughter to let her in because I assumed she had stopped the bleeding. Nope. There was blood gushing out of her toe nail still and the groomer said "do you have a wrap?" I said umm yeah okay and I got a wrap but at this point my dog was bleeding all over the floor in my hallway so I shut the door and got the cornstarch and started packing it in again and finally got the bleeding to stop. Now I was covered in blood and dog hair and my daughter was beside herself. The groomer was apologetic but I was APPALLED at how bad she was at handling this situation. It was incredibly unprofessional and showed her lack of experience. My dog is fine, but my child is still upset and I am too. Very bad experience. I'll need to buy a new entry way rug now too. Never again.

It seems like she does not have any experience. So bad.
