We would get updates, pictures and videos every few days on his progress. When he came home she helped us set our boundaries and helped us become comfortable with the commands and calls. He pulled on the leash, barked at the door, and had bouts of aggression when he didn't get his way. I felt uneasy having guests over because I felt like I had no control over my dog. Basically, my dog owned me.. not vis versa. He did ~2 weeks of the board and train program at SMS Raleigh and even though we were nervous to send him away (it felt like forever!), we loved getting bi-weekly updates from his trainer and seeing his progress. Training Ollie will always be a work in progress but the biggest different we have seen is that HE LISTENS! Hallelujah. My friends come over and say they see a huge difference in him - he's calm, sweet, and charming. He is still a dog.. he does bark at the mailman, and sometimes pulls on the leash, but if we correct him, he is happy to obey. I also love the fact that we have free access to the group classes 2x a week and have the opportunity to continue training him. Overall, we are very happy with his progress and we are dedicated to continue training him with the SMS methods.

Colby the owner explained it best to me when he said "It's not about punishment, it's about attention and boundaries. Dogs want to please their owners, so once you have their attention their instinct takes over and training becomes easier. The strides and response to this training are remarkable. So pleased with the results so far. I am happy and more importantly my dog is happy. We have only had 3 private whole day training sessions, and tonight we will attend our first group training. Looking forward to this as it can only help build on the foundation established in the private 3 lessons. The training is not inexpensive, however it cheaper than replacing carpet not to mention several pairs of shoes, baseboards ETC. Take this advice, and stop here when you are looking for a positive reinforcement dog trainer who knows her stuff! I have known Rebecca for a few years when I met her needing a dog trainer for our Betty White, who is leash reactive. I had been through some "meh", and not so great trainers who used fear tactics for my sweet girl, and so I was reluctant to try another, but I knew she needed help. Once I met Rebecca, I knew her philosophy aligned with mine and what i wanted for Betty. Rebecca came to our home, did an consult/meet and greet, to determine where Betty was with her learning, and what motivates her, ahem, treats. :) Long story short, it was clear that clicker training was best and so Rebecca taught us what we needed to do on our walks to get her to stop jumping at cars passing by, or people on bikes going by. Note, we had homework. If a trainer tells you that he/she can "fix" your dog and doesn't have you involved nor give you things to work on, run! Also needing to be said, if you don't do your homework and work with your pet, then training won't work for you. It is great to have a trusted trainer who is part of our "it takes a village" mentality when it comes to our sweet girl. We couldn't be more thrilled to have found Rebecca Andrews!

They always greet us with a warm welcome although I don't know that they can be as excited as Figgy is to see them. The team gives me updates on her day and they even let her rest behind the desk if she overexerts herself. What original attracted me to PDO was their no-crate policy but what keeps us returning is the trust and service from the team. My husband and I recently adopted a 3 year old pitbull (Thatcher). He is the gentlest and sweetest…read moredog, but has so much energy and anxiety that he was really unmanageable- he was hyper alert and would bark at every noise outside, sometimes for hours, and was like a 70lb missile on walks. He would bark and try to run to every dog and person out in the world, and we worried that he would end up hurting or scaring a smaller dog or a more feeble adult, given his strength. We were at a point where we couldn't take him on runs or hikes, and then he would just get more amped up and difficult at home. Our quality of life had really started to suffer, and most importantly we both had started to resent him, which isn't fair to anyone. We had looked at doing DTC USA before, but the price tag gave us pause. Ultimately we decided that the money would be an investment in our life with Thatcher, and sent him to the 3 week training camp with Lateria. It's hard to put into words what this program(and trainer) has done for Thatcher. After an initial evaluation, they matched him with Lateria, who loves and has experience with bully breeds. She took time to see what we were hoping to get from the program, and she delivered. All the things we love about thatcher are exactly the same, but in other ways he is unrecognizable- his anxiety is so much better, he is able to relax at home and is clearly so much happier than he was before. He is polite, has really good self control even over tough things like waiting to go through the front door or waiting for dinner, and we love having him around. Lateria has also been in contact since he finished, and we plan on sending him up for "tune ups" with her when we go out of town (instead of boarding).

Our puppy was just under 1 year old when we sent her to Jonathan and I could not be more pleased with the results. I was wrong about sending her as now she is much calmer and actually listens to us sometimes. Well more often than not. Neither of us had any experience with owning and training a dog before so this was truly a Godsend. Zoey now listens to basic commands and Jonathan worked with both of us on how we need to do things with her so that we are consistent and this is how we get her to do the commands that she had learned. Continuing education is a part of the program and is included and we will be taking advantage of these classes as we continue to learn about the right way to train our dog. I highly recommend both Jonathan and the entire Dog Camp Training Staff but we are bias to Jonathan as he is the man.
